I'd imagine that a light wood dye diluted down even further with a suitable thinner (white spirit perhaps?) could be used to darken the veneer if needed - obviously trying it on a piece of scrap before committing yourself. -

I think I'd have been inclined to have cut the veneer slightly larger than the area that needed covering and then slowly but surely remove the excess using sandpaper afterwards (once the glue has dried obviously). Take your time with it and you'll be able to get a nicer chamfer on the back edge that way than the sharp 90 degree edge. -

Incidentally, anyone still looking for rack shelves for these, try this out http://www.proaudiostash.co.uk/product/19-inch-racking/rack-shelves/plain-shelves/utility-rackmount-shelf/162.shtml

PAT testers are only capable of testing things that can be plugged into it - so generally that's limited to an IEC socket ('kettle lead') and standard mains plug. Speakon and 1/4" jack connectors aren't suitable for carrying mains voltage and therefore aren't catered for on a PAT tester.

This is a common problem we are currently seeing with Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7 or Windows 8. There is currently no software fix available, however, there is a workaround. In the top left hand corner of the box you type in, you will see a little grey 'lightswitch' icon. Click it and your Enter key will respond as you'd expect it to. You may need to toggle back and forth if you want to use emoticons and can't remember the code for them, but the most common ones are soon and easily remembered. Alternatively, install another browser - I have tried Firefox and it supports all of the site features. We hope to have a software update shortly that will remove the need to use this workaround with IE11.

Go to the page containing the YouTube video and copy the URL. Paste that URL into your post. This is where things sometimes go wrong: Make sure that your URL starts with http:\\ If it starts with https:\\ then you need to delete that 's' or the video won't embed properly.

It would depend on the circuit, but you'll quite often find that the negative rail is generally connected to earth anyway. If that's the case with your circuit then there's no need to make a separate one.

Nothing whatsoever, it's on my 'list of things to do at some point'. We've been together for about 7 years and always get plenty of work so we don't really see it as that important tbh.

Using the Status Update to ask for advice on gear.
icastle replied to BassTractor's topic in General Discussion
Besides which some of the usual mechanisms for the orderly running of the forum, such as the ability to report a status update for offensive content, are lacking. I give it until the first attempt to advertise something for sale without paying the listing fee before it is turned off, but I would be glad to see it turned off now.
We monitor them. Some people have tried using that stunt ever since we adopted listing fees - total waste of time and effort, they get deleted within minutes and warnings issued. -
I'm guessing that your works laptop uses Windows 7 or perhaps 8 and your browser is IE11? If you're allowed to, install a different browser like Firefox and that'll fix it.

How about a TC Combo450? Slightly over your 300W power requirement but has all the other criteria covered.

I play in three bands and I keep a Google diary. More importantly, I keep it up to date. It's generally first come, first served.
The way the ads work (although not always very well) is that they feed ads that are relevant to an individuals browsing history - so if I go looking for lawnmower sites I'd probably get ads for lawnmowers.
Well, the only place we use Flash here is via embedded YouTube vids - that content is hosted by YouTube and I'm not being told to download a new version. We don't use Java - I don't even have the JRE\JVM installed on my PC and I'm not being told to install it. I'm using IE (IE11) and I'm using the site the same way I've always used it. Whatever the problem is, it's not coming from here - can you imagine the number of complaints we'd have had if it was? It sounds to me as though you've picked up a piece of Malware from somewhere.
-
I block ads as a matter of course, even on here. The way the ads work (although not always very well) is that they feed ads that are relevant to an individuals browsing history - so if I go looking for lawnmower sites I'd probably get ads for lawnmowers. Based on what you've said above, my best guess is that your browsing history contains tracking cookies for 'PC improvement' sites where you've perhaps looked at how to remove them for other people? However, the ads on Basschat are displayed on the Basschat page, if you're getting pop ups or pop unders then they're not from here and you've got a bigger problem.
