  1. I agree. I love my Sandbergs but i'd like the Sandberg quality with a vintage Fender tone. Could always just change the pick ups. Dave
  2. You've got it made now Daryl, picked up by limo and no gear to lug around. Life doesn't get much better than that. Plus you get the best gigs 😀 Doing good over here. Gigs are picking up now and have a gig almost every weekend till Xmas. Not sure what gigs we have in 2023. I know we have a Xmas gig booked for next Xmas in 2023 with the Glam covers band. Punk band plays quite regularly maybe 1-2 gigs a month. Busiest i've ever been in a band. Got to learn a few Xmas songs for the Glam band tho but that'll be easy enough 👍 Dave
  3. That's the same castors i got with my Mesa PH212 bought new few yrs back. They are def Mesa's own castors. Press a button somewhere and they unlock and slide out if i remember right. Dave
  4. I'm in Biggar Scotland. I did check the distance but its too far away even if i was a definite on it. It just wouldn't make sense travelling that far. It would cost me a fortune in fuel. Its approx 300 miles each way that would cost me around £150-£180 in fuel. Just bought a new Handbox WB-100 and i would need to justify another amp to my wife even at this ridiculously low price. Dave
  5. trouser flapping loudness should be a bass cab measurement. Dave
  6. Not usually a big fan of Ashdown gear but that is a very tasty looking rig. Shame your so far away from me as i might have taken that. GLWTS Dave
  7. No amp Blue ? Dave
  8. Used my WB-100 on Sat night with punk covers band. Vocal PA only and volume balanced against the drums i'm finding Gain at crunch point which is approx 1-2 o'clock and master at 11 o'clock. EQ mostly flat with treble brought back too 11 o'clock-ish. I have found that master volume doesn't seem to do a lot once you get above 12-1 o'clock-ish altho our drummer said he could hear quite an increase when i tried it at a rehearsal just after i received it. The tone is really really nice tho with a nice warm depth and clarity of notes. There's no muddiness that i've experienced with some other all valve amps. Will see how it gets on this weekend at a larger club venue with Glam covers band again just a vocal PA but a decent sized club venue. I'm using it thru Mesa SW210/115 rig and a MarloweDK with punk band and VM4 with Glam band. Dave
  9. Was just about o ask what you thought of the WB-100 from your weekend gig. Even with the ancient flats it sounds great. Def like that cab of yours too. Will be keeping an eye out for one of them. Might be easier than my 2 Mesa cabs. Look forward to hearing it with rounds on. Dave
  10. Some venues will isolate the smoke detectors if asked. Dave
  11. Sorry i thought you were the OP there. What you have looks impressive. Dave
  12. Dont think i'd add anything more to that lighting. Looks good the way it is. I had the full DMX desk with Pars, lazers, scanners, projectors but its a lot of extra work. I'd suggest keeping things on slow fades is the way to with maybe one or two spots on a faster setting but looking at the clip above that looks pretty good to me as it is. Dave
  13. Punk gig last night in a bar that used to be my local in 80's. Was an odd atmosphere, quite busy and lots of clapping and whistles after almost every song. Lot of the younger ones were there because they saw us the last time or had "heard the band were brilliant" which was overheard outside at smokers corner. All great but no-one dancing like last time when the floor in front of us had people up almost every song. Most were just watching us play to be fair which is nice. Lots of good comments at the end too. Using the MarloweDK into Handbox WB-100 and Mesa SW 210/115 rig. Dave
  14. Get a contract next time and they cant argue about it. We do that for any new gigs with the Glam covers band. To be asked to play something completely different or you dont get paid is a threat in my book. To be honest i wouldn't go back. I guess i wouldn't have got paid that night. It amazes me how some people think you have a set list for every eventuallity up your cuff is simply ridiculous. No pay, sore face i reckon. Dave
  15. Have to agree with you there. That's a beautiful wood finish on that bass altho i had to admit i had GAS when i saw the red one too. Dave
  16. Looks a beast, bet it sounds amazing. I love everything Mesa does. If i was a young man i would love this but at 62 yrs old its a bit much for me. Still nice to dream and admire from afar. GLWTS Dave
  17. I do like a Nathan East Yamaha but i'm back to using 4 strings again as i feel more comfortable but they look great and sound fantastic. A Yamaha BB2000 or similar has been on my GAS list but maybe someday. My brother had a fretless BB3000 in black with gold hardware and sold it without telling me. That was a gorgeous bass. Dave
  18. I do like a Pedulla but what are the others ? Some very nice looking basses there. Dave
  19. Might have been easier to say what you like 😀 Out of curiosity what would be your ideal bass and finish. Post a pic if one available. Dave
  20. Altho i generally prefer the wood finish on Alembics i have to admit i definitely like yours. I wouldn't change the finish. It must be quite a rare finish too. Dave
  21. Yep i think you might be right enough. 👍 Not seen a black Alembic before, i tend to like the wood finishes. Dave
  22. Nice bass, what is it ? Dave
  23. Sad sad news about Chris and yet on the other hand a wonderful outcome from @Fluid Druid I really dont know how i feel about all of this now. Caught between sad and happy. Hope it does have a good outcome in the end. WOW just WOW. Dave
  24. Nice one @WoT you can't be disappointed with the WB-100 even after the issues i had with the 1st one its been well worthwhile for me. I love this amp, the looks and the tones i get are gorgeous and its not heavy. What more do you need. One thing i have found using active and passive basses is that with the actives i run it virtually flat but with passives i need to drop the treble to around 9-10 o'clock to take the top edge of the tone. I run the gain at crunch point marked on the amp and master at 10-11 o'clock and that gives me some overdrive but just nice. At the flick of the Bright button i go from a nice P sound to almost a Ric clank. As you say everything about this amp screams quality and Leszek definitely knows how to pack an amp. Have fun with it over the weekend at gigs and keep us updated. I'll be using mine again Sat night at a punk gig with my Sandberg MarloweDK. They do work very well together. Dave
  25. Hopefully it'll be gone tomorrow leaving you some space for GAS related space filling. 😂 Good luck Dave
