The desire for every other finish but sunburst / tort is just a passing fad. You will eventually come back to the classic finish that we all love eventually . Its tradition and we all love tradition. 😂 You just dont realise it yet Dave

Excellent stuff in there. Cheers @bassbiscuits Will go through some more clips later. Dave

Elton John tribute would be a great band to play in. Love playing Elton classics. Bass lines are usually nice to play and more to them than you first think. We do Sat Night's Alright and i just love playing that song, probably one of my favs in the set. Nice one. Some live vids would be nice to see and hear the band or a link to your band FB page if available. Dave

I fully understand why you posted @Clarky but i was wondering if people get the same experiences with other bass shops altho there arent many bass specific shops in UK to be fair. I wasn't aware there was a PMT thread too. I'll need to have a look at that thread. I've bought strings from PMT but that is the sum of my dealings as far as i can remember. Think everyone should highlight issues with shops etc altho i know you're aware of my recent posts that were not welcomed so much. I have very strong opinions on this subject. Dave

Do BC'ers have similar issues with other bass shops. Just curious why we have singled out BD. As i've said in earlier posts i have no issues with BD and found them very helpful. Dave

So jealous. Would love to visit the museum let alone play it. Nice one Blue. Dave

We are a funny ole lot on BC. That old vintage look is what many seek in life. I quite like the sunburst and tort combo. My first bass was a Columbas Jazz copy in sunburst / tort. Always liked that in a bass. Dave

When i did drink i limited it to one pint before and / or during a gig. Now i dont bother with drink too much and i'm always driving i just drink bottled water all night. Look at my avatar and you'll understand why i need water. Stages get very warm. Dave

I love a jazz or P bass. They are my goto basses. Love the look of a Ric and would like one. Had a white one in 80's but couldn't get the sound I was looking for and sold it after few maths. Not a fan of those weird horn or single cut basses. I like good ole traditional styles. Had a WAL custom in 80's too and it was gorgeous. Oh happy days.

Lovely jubbily. Look forward to your NBD report. Looks superb.

My tech guy wouldn't give me any details but he was very impressed by the WB100 especially the power board. He has worked on many many all valve amps and liked what he saw.

On the odd occasion when not using my amp rack I use a tuner and / or a comp pedal I sit them on my amp in the punk band. In the Glam band I use a sound effects pedal but I prefer that at front of stage as I need to switch on / off thru some songs. If you decide to go rack mount then consider the weight of your rack. Amp plus pedals, tuner and power supply all add up to quite a weight. My rack with amp and korg tuner is 24kg.

Never realised how much I would miss adverts on tv. 4mins of blank screens as a mark of respect is hard work.

Jimmy Haslip Sandin Wilson Both played with Gino Vanelli over the years. My others have already been mentioned.

What was the venue out of curiosity.

I do like the look of them plus it's got shiny bits and I'm guessing no truss rod ?

Oooohhhh shiny bass neck. Nice one. Post a pic of the bass for my GAS. 😆

My Mesa mpulse picks up low hum when connected to same 4 bar as one of our powered monitors. Doesn't do it with powered pa cabs or any other amps. I tend to plug bass amp direct to wall socket on its own to avoid such issues.

Is that how it works ? Never had to do this before. I'll look into that. Dave

Thought it was time for an update on my WB-100. Took the amp down to our very own WoT who confirmed there was something not right with the amp. While there Leszek asked us to complete some tests and vid record it and send to him. Leszek offered a replacement or refund right at the start of this and again made the offer and assured me it would be resolved to my satisfaction We agreed a plan that my local tech guy in Glasgow would have a look inside first to check valves and look for anything obvious. He did a test and found valves ok and that something was happening inside the amp to cause clipping. At this point he contacted Leszek directly and they agreed it would be better to return the amp to HB. I can appreciate from a privacy point of view he wants to have the amp back at HB for a thorough test and repair as required. Leszek sent me a message last night while i was at rehearsals telling me about it and will cover all / any additional costs. I will pick up the amp from tech guy today but i'm going on holiday for 2 weeks but Leszek has no issue waiting until i get back to ship the amp back to him. He will send the replacement amp out next week. I have to say that Leszek has been fully supportive in the issue. I cant fault HB in their response so far. Its unfortunate that the amp has an issue but these things happen to all manufacturers at some point. No-one's fault, it happens. Hopefully in another few weeks of anxious parcel tracking i will have a new working WB-100. Anyway i'll let you all know when it arrives again. Dave

Oddly enough i've only ever been in once or twice and they didn't have anything i liked. Been a while tho. Dave

Very nice indeed. 3 pick up basses i just think "strat bass on steroids". I've never heard of this manufacturer but will keep an eye open to try one. Dave.
