  1. You cant leave us hanging ......... what you ordered ? Dave
  2. I've not heard of this Fender Tone Stack thing. What exactly is it. ? Dave
  3. Gain and Master volume for me. Everything else comes from my fingers Dave
  4. I just want a simple all valve amp with minimal controls. It has to be loud enough to compete against guitar amps in rock bands and has to maintain a clean tone to do it. If i want to add a bit of grunt then that's my choice thru the Gain. Dave
  5. Definately 100% on this as saves having to use a tech and keeps cost down. Dave
  6. The Marshall amps in the rehearsal studios can go up to 21. Cant remember the model of amp but it is a full valve amp, now that is loud. Dave
  7. I'm learning a lot on this thread so far and obviously @Reggaebass has explained it best Dave
  8. I'm curious how bass amp wattage is calculated. For years i've never understood how all-valve amp wattage is far lower than SS or even Class D. 100W valve appears to be as loud as a 600W Class D. Anyone offer anything ? Dave
  9. Yep i think i'm gonna hang in there for the HB. It cant be far away now. Of course i said that about the Mesa TT800 i ordered and that didn't end well for me. 😂 Dave
  10. Been looking at the YBA300 on BC but its 24" wide and my cabs are 19-20" so the overhang would be unsafe and look a bit daft to be honest. Where did you get your YBA200 ? I've had no response from Traynor at all. Dave Not really looking for overdriven sound but sometimes a little grunt to take the edge off is nice. Dave
  11. Sent Traynor an email to see if they supply anywhere in UK but after a week i've had no reply. The YBA 100 and 200 look nice. Some really nice features on them. Dave
  12. What's the amp you're using. Can make out the Ampeg and GK cabs but not the amp. Dave
  13. 100% agree. Its great to see a UK manufacturer taking this on. Bass amps that bass players actually want rather than what the companies think they want. Huge respect to @Stoneham for doing it and joining in the discussion to keep us informed. If only all bass amp companies could be like this. Dave 👍
  14. Jings that's a bargain. 2off Mesa SW112 cabs for £900. These should go really fast at that price and in perfect condition looking at the pics. Love my 210/115 Mesa cabs or i would have snapped these up. Dave
  15. 100% a bit of an amp legend. It has so many features. If i wasn't waiting on my new amp i might have gone for this. Dave
  16. Might be worth showing a pic of the inside and the transformer as it could help someone decide. The external transformer you are using looks a bit on the hefty side. I had a smaller one for the Ampeg SVT i eventually got converted. Dave
  17. Ha Ha Ha Owen my comment was in response to yours earlier in the thread but just realised it was dated 2021. Dave
  18. Liking that bass rig tho. If you get bored with the HB i'll take it Dave
  19. Had an Ampeg SVT4 Pro US built and external transformer. Local tech changed out the transformer completely with part supplied from Ampeg. Was back in 2012 and cant remember what cost was for the Ampeg transformer. Looks like a fantastic amp too. Dave
  20. CUrious how loud it gets. Does it cope ok when up against loud rock guitarists. ? Dave
  21. Not seen one in a case like that before. Looks very nice indeed. Mpulse is the best amp i've ever owned in 45yrs of playing. You dont just hear a Mesa, you feel it too. An amazing depth of tone. If i didnt already have one i'd be looking to buy this. Great price for one like this. GLWTS Dave
  22. If i buy one it will be used with Mesa Subway 210/115 cabs Dave
  23. Something i have seen recently is the Traynor all valve range that have a really nice feature that should a valve go down the amp shuts down that set of valves and allows you to continue the gig albiet at lower volume. I can see that being a big advantage with the larger 300W all tube head but the 100W head might be too much of a volume drop but i like the idea that the amp will keep running. They also have a bias control on the rear of the amp with led's to show correct biasing. That would also be a nice feature to have. Dave
  24. Yep i clocked that too. Was a bit surprised to say the least and not something i'd buy at that price. Dave
  25. Now that's a bit better than the one i saw which was like a mirrored front panel. I'll definitely keep an eye on this thread. Have to say that i like the look of the HB WB-100 with the metal front and wooden case. It combines modern with traditional really well. An all metal case for a full valve amp i'm not 100% sold on but once i see the final product that could change. Its great to see UK companies stepping up to the plate and producing an amp that bass players want rather than what the companies think they want. All credit to Stoneham for taking this on. Big plus from my point of view. Dave
