  1. 100% especially the right band. Dave
  2. I had no idea mate hope the traetment is going well. One of the nice guys on BC and you play the best style of music Keep us posted. Dave
  3. I guess we have to allow for people's personal issues coming into the equation. It was good that he stayed with you. Dave
  4. Our guitarist has decided to leave amicably but still a surprise after 4 years and one of the 4 founding members. We now need to start the auditioning process so this thread will offer an insight @jezzaboy. We already have a first interest after last nights face-meet thingy. Drummer and singer both know the guy so that helps. Dave
  5. Happy Jack's spiderman just makes me laugh so much every time i see it. Brilliant. Dave
  6. Always welcome to drop in now and again for a wee blether and catch up on the bass gossip. Sorry to hear about having use of only one arm/hand. We can still chat about basses tho. Dave
  7. Yep one of the few venues that offer to help take gear out for you. Have never experienced any trouble at their gigs. Band even gets fed by them with free tea and coffee. Not many gigs offer that level of appreciation. Dave
  8. Oddly enough i have been thinking about IEM set ups but dont know much about it plus it would only be for the one gig. My Punk band only use a vocal PA as its smaller gigs. Something else i could consider is a decent bass cab that can be used like a wedge monitor at front of stage. I've seen them before but can't remember who made them. Dave
  9. Welcome back. I think i only joined about 10 yrs ago Dave
  10. This is the only venue i have any trouble with stage volumes. When i've played there with the original SE who since retired there was never an issue and bands always raved about sound. I've played there with a few different bands over the years and its only in the last year its been a problem. Dave
  11. Unusual gig in Ivory Blacks last night. Not the biggest audience we've played to but everyone had a great night with lots of dancing. Issues with sound again in here with SE telling me my bass amp was too loud. (i run it at same level every gig to match drum volume. His suggestion was to turn it down and use the monitors for bass. Tried that and his monitors were s**t with nothing but treble clank and distortion on higher notes. Trouble with hearing vocals and guitar. Our sound effects we use for intro's to some songs were muted at the desk as SE forgot to un-mute for 2nd set. Overall not a great night sound wise on stage but audience said the sound out front was good. Not sure if people stayed at home because of the train issues at moment or holiday weekend or even the Jubilee but Glasgow did seem quite quiet last night when we were leaving at 11pm. Not sure what's going on in the band at moment but atmosphere thru the gig and at the end of the night was a bit "odd" perhaps quiet and subdued. Not sure how things will pan out. It felt like this might have been our last gig. When the band enthusiasm and atmosphere goes the fun goes with it. Will wait and see what happens over next few days/weeks. Dave
  12. Welcome Matt. Dave
  13. Welcome Rob. Dave
  14. You won a watch there. Looks like another great venue and during TT. Life doesn't get any better than that. Dave
  15. Wondered where all the scooters were going the other day. Looks like a great gig and sounded great on the short VID clip. Dave
  16. Oddly enough i'm finding the same with the punk band. I'm new to punk at 62yrs old but thoroughly enjoying the gigs. Not had a bad gig yet since end last year i've been doing gigs every 2nd week on average. With the Glam band we still get calls on occasion to play some funk songs even tho its well advertised as a 70's Glam Rock tribute with all the outfits etc. Not had any troublesome ones tho. Dave
  17. That's not so good after you'd done more than contract. Sorry to hear this kind of thing. I guess you move on and put it behind you. Not sure how i would have raected under those circumstances but i hope it was as you did..........controlled. Well done on that. Dave
  18. That would be my worst nightmare. I like to know songs inside out before gigging them altho i have done very short notice gigs learning the basics and taking some notes with me. I just couldn't cope with what you did tho. I'd be a bag of nerves. Dave
  19. Is it up for sale on BC, I cant find your post ? I am now getting interested. LOL
  20. I would like to try one but i'm trying to go a bit lighter. I'm not getting any younger and i do love my Mesa gear. Dave
  21. At 30Kg its far heavier than my Mesa Mpulse600 and rack at 24Kg The HB WB-100 comes in at either 13Kg or 16Kg will need to double check which it is but still a lot lighter than my current rack. I dont want to go back to old valve amps which can develop unexpected age related issues. Dave
  22. Its my own opinion of what i dont like as the OP asked. If you like them that's fine, i have no issue with what you like. I just dont like or appreciate them. I was referring to modern groups tho ......... post autune. Dave
  23. That was one of my main reasons too until i saw WoT review the WB-100 and i now blame him for my severe GAS. Personally i think he should be buying me the amp because of all the stress i've been put under Its worth a try. Dave
  24. Just catching up on this thread and still a lot to read but i have seen a few comments about The Glitter Band. The drummer in both my bands played with the Glitter Band during 90's. He's played some amazing venues including Wembley Arena and major venues in Germany. We play some of the GB songs in our 70's Glam Rock covers band. As a teenager in 70's i bought Gary Glitter singles and one album and also a few of the GB singles. Their career carried on but to be honest it was the run down of Glam Rock in mid 70's that dampened the classic Glam Rock bands. As a Glam covers band we ddid agree not to play ang GG songs. My unpopular styles of music are Rap or similar styles. I dont appreciate "Boy" or "Girl" bands as i find them a bit fake. Not so much a band as simply a group of singers and i use that word loosely as without autotune i dont think many of them can hold a tune. Dave
  25. Could be interesting. I haven't seen that but i was looking for the WB-100 and had my blinkers on. Would make for a great back up gig amp if small enough. Dave
