  1. Not my gig but was out seeing The Illegal Eagles tonight. They are one very professional outfit. Very impressive musicianship. Dave
  2. Agree with others about the necks. One of the nicest i've played and very easy to get along with. My Geddy Jazz has a slim back to front neck and i sometimes get a little left hand cramp if playing long gigs. I find a P bass a little to wide across the neck in general but i get used to it very quickly when playing it. When i go back to my VM4 it just feels so comfy and i'm home again. Its kind of in between J and P and i think most poeple adapt to it very easily.. I know a few guys that sold theirs and have since regretted it and now either looking for another or have one already. The TM4 gives you a bit more options with the split humbucker at the back that the VM4 doesn't have. Means you can get a jazz type sound too. Dave
  3. PMT in Leeds appear to have them. That cant be too far away from you ? Dave
  4. Everyone should have a trip to BD once in their lifetime. Its quite a bass cave. So many nice basses. Dave
  5. Dont think you'll be disappointed with the playability of Sandberg basses. Its more about what tone you need. I have the VM4 but sometimes i feel the TM4 might have been a better choice for me as i love my Jazz bass. Necks are so nice to play and all the ones i've tried have been lighter than my Fenders. All well balanced. You can get a really low action on them due to the PLEK system on the frets. I had mine down at around 1.2mm at home but when i started gigging again i had to raise it slightly to 1.5mm because i play quite hard on the strings with my plucking hand. Would have thought there was a Guitar Guitar in your area. That's where i've tried them all. I did drive down to Bass Direct once to try out 5 stringers so if you are gonna spend a lot of money on a bass you really want to try them out and a day out might be worthwhile for you. Guitar Guitar Birmingham or Newcastle look nearest to you. Dave
  6. A gigs a gig. Doing a 45 minute support slot tomorrow night but all the backline supplied. Have bass will travel kinda gig. I like that. Dave
  7. Biggar in Scotland, near Lanark approx 250 miles from you if i remember right. Used to drive down to BOC Brinsworth quite a bit and i think that's in Sheffield area. Took me approx 3-3.5hrs solid driving. Been a few years. 😂 Dave
  8. My Geddy Jazz feels lighter than my P bass altho i haven't actually weighed them. The slim Geddy Signature Jazz has a nice slim neck and is similar in feel to my Warwick Thumb NT 89. Have to admit none of my Fenders are light basses whereas my Sandberg is a dream to play. Dave
  9. Sad sign of the times i'm afraid. Ordered my Mesa TT800 in May this year and might get it Spring 2022. Down to a combination of available parts and shipping containers in wrong places plus the workforce effects due to pandemic. Andertons have assured me that price will not go up as i've already paid for the amp so that's a bonus. Dave
  10. Bit too far away for you but if you are ever in the area i'm happy to help. Dave
  11. I wish ........... better than an old battered transit van during 70's / 80's altho happy memories of that era too. Lightweight compact gear means transporting gear these days is so much easier. 😀 I would get all my gear in that car tho. Dave
  12. Does it come with one of these to match
  13. That would do my 70's Glam rock band How much ? Dave
  14. That makes sense and i can appreciate that. If i had been lucky enough to play stadium type gigs I'd be very particular about my on stage sound and would also want to hear the FOH to make sure they had it the way i wanted so i'm guessing these big stars are just the same. Maybe not. Our drummer has played stadium gigs incl Wembley and he is quite particular about his sound especially on stage vocals. Dave
  15. Maybe your audience likes it and that's fine because they probably expect it. I dont want to pay £100 for a ticket to listen to a speech on someones political views between every song. I wouldn't be expecting that at any concert or gig i go to. Its just not for me. I dont object to singer talking a little between songs while someone tunes up etc but not political agenda's. Dave
  16. Its on my watch list on Netflix. Is it a good watch ?
  17. AC must surely have the final say on what he hears on stage. If you have a good on-stage sound it makes you feel and play better in my opinion and altho he is playing far larger gigs the concept is still the same. I take for granted that our sound engineer knows what i want to sound like and that he replicates the sound i have on stage to FOH. Is that not what they are paid to do. Obviously each venue will have its acoustic differences that need to be compensated for but that's why they get paid the big bucks. Dave
  18. Not quite the same as a singer going on about his political views between every song tho. I would have walked out on any concert i was attending if singer started that rubbish. I'm there to hear the music the band sell in whatever format. If they want the singers political viewpoints to be heard then put them on the albums between the songs. You can bet they wont sell as many copies with that drivel between songs. Dave
  19. So so nice. Love Zon basses and that's one of the nicest ones i've seen. Dave
  20. There's always that religious undertone in Scotland more so Glasgow area. To be avoided at all cost. Dave
  21. Yep Hue & Cry were a bit like that. Mate was their original backing vocalist and spent the early years with the brothers writing the songs together. Mate was also a fantastic guitarist and played on a few of the early songs but never got the credits he deserved. As soon as they became very successful the band incl mate were put on a fixed contract and slowly bumped over a couple of years. Pretty poor as i remember him being very much involved in song writing process back in their early days before recording contracts. Because of the way they treated the band and my mate i went right of them especially the main singer Pat Kane. My opinion of him is to strong for BC. Dave
  22. They've stayed together thru thick and thin. For me that's a sign of a good friendship in a band. Dave
  23. I dont mind musicians and singers having a political view but i prefer they keep their politics and music seperate. I go to a concert to hear the music not someones personal viewpoint on whatever subject. I'm not a big enough fan of U2 to really know Bono's personal viewpoints on politics or whatever. I just know them as a band. Dave
  24. "All The Right Reasons" for buying it Dave
  25. I bought one of their albums and was quite impressed how good it was. Every song was a good listen. Dave
