My experience of BMW drivers (and i include both my brothers here) is they need to buy cars with working indicators or maybe they just need lessons on how to use them. Dave

And that's why i didn't

Few pics appeared from our Alloa gig. Dave

thats pretty poor double booking. Sorry to hear about the Xmas gig but surely at Xmas venues get a decent amount of foot-fall sales. Dave

BLOCKBUSTARZ Glam covers at The Auld Gambling Hoose in Alloa last night. An old Bingo hall that they are now trying to convert to a decent sized live music venue. Biggest problem last night was their heating system was down and they were using 2off propane space heaters at front of stage facing audience so the stage was freezing cold at the start. Changing room had no heating whatsoever and we didn't hang around too long in there but they are trying hard to make it work and all credit to them. Average audience size at the moment is 80-120 which is smallish in such a large venue but we reckon we had 100 ish in all sitting down front end so it looked ok from stage area. Load in was great from their private car park at rear straight thru to front of stage area and then a lift onto stage from there. We hired a PA for this one because of its size which was a good decision. Kick off 8pm to 10:30 limit due to their licence restrictions to be closed by 11pm. We ran on to 10:45pm due to encore requests. To be fair the female staff were top notch and offered us free drinks, coffee or tea and even offered to help load the cars at night. No pressure to get packed up for 11pm at all Few mistakes on the night which is unusual for us but the cold was having an adverse effect. Good night tho and everyone was shouting for more at the end. They definitely want us back and will contact us again in January to arrange dates. Usual rig of Sandberg VM4 into Shure Wireless, Mesa TT800 and Mesa SW210/115. Sound on stage was generally good altho 2nd set vocals in monitors seemed to get louder and i struggled to hear my on stage amp but struggled on. Guitarist said he noted same. ? Odd one. Anyways a stop at McDonalds on way out of Alloa was a def. Then a wee 1hr and 20min drive home for 1:30am ish. All in all a good night. Dave

Great to see you back Rob, sincerely missed on here. You had a lot of us very worried about you. Hope all is well. Dave

You brought your own Xmas tree. Now that is impressive. Dave

The flat sharing could be a difficult one for the guitarist. Is it worth a band meet to discuss the issue under a veil of how the band can progress for 2025.? Sorry i've started making suggestions now 🤩 Take care Dave

That's such a shame that this drummer is ruining what is a great night of fun with like minded musicians. Hope your health improves quickly and things work out. No point in suggesting things at this stage but keep us all posted how things develop. Fingers crossed for you @ahpook. Have a great Christmas and all the very best for 2025. Dave

My attitude is that you're either committed to being in a band or you aren't. If not then walk away and let the band replace you and get on with it. I'm quite lucky that in both bands we all have to drive to get to gigs so there's no drink involved. Dave

Awe Jings something else to be wrist slapped for Seriously tho i wasn't aware of that thread. ? Dave
-
I can appreciate that sometimes things go well off topic and that does annoy me at times so i just need to be more aware and careful of what i post. To be fair @mcdaddy was only suggesting that the whisky comments could be of value on the whisky thread so all good here. Dave
-
Sometimes a slight drift off-topic can be fun, provided it doesn't go on too long but appreciate its not the rules and will no longer post comments that detract from the thread. My apologies. Dave
-
Was only slightly off-topic, even less than the footwear comments. Dave
-
I like that and definitely an unusual bass style too. 2 bassists in a band is quite unusual too. Dave

Port Charlotte PC7 Apologies @Leonard Smalls has already answered your question but here's the bottle anyways.

Amazes me when we play a ticketed sold out gig and we still get requests for totally unrelated to Glam songs. We even had one young lady ask for anything by Beyonce. ??? At a Glam Rock Tribute show .............. really. Did you read the posters or adverts on FB for the venue before buying a ticket at £15. DUH !!!!!!!! Dave

post a better pic to let me see it as the lighting doesn't really show it off. Dave

I like his idea and why not. ? Dave

Looks like a Ric bass there. ? Dave

Result. He does look very like Bon Scott right enough. Dave

Going down stairs took a bit of practice. Dave

Liking that Yamaha bass. Very nice. Dave

Great wee afternoon gig at Fisons Club in Boness for BLOCKBUSTARZ Glam covers yesterday. Sold Out 1-6pm event that we've played before. The organiser called it a Xmas gig so 2x1hr sets with the obligatory Xmas songs thrown in. Even with it being sold out there were a shortage of tables and chairs and people were still coming in looking for seats all thru the first set. Mostly women audience too and they were all up for a great party afternoon. Dancing from 1st song. Oddly enough the floor cleared for our first Xmas song Let It Snow by The Sweet which usually does a good job of floor filling ? Lots of people singing along and taking pics and vids to the song so we are a bit confused with that one. Other Xmas songs filled the floor. Gear for the afternoon was Sandberg VM4 into Shure wireless then a Keeley Bassist compressor only just on with very little compression to keep a nice even level. Mesa TT800 Boogie channel into Mesa SW210/115 cabs. Footwear pic below :- This was our first set. Busy wee dance floor.
