  1. How's about Genesis Suppers Ready ? Dave
  2. Bought my wife a pair of those for her tablet and i was more than impressed with them. Dave
  3. There's still a few basses i'd like to have but its not the end of the world for me but more a "nice to have". I do however have severe gas for Mesa TT800 + Subway 210 & 115 bass rig and that's my main Gas at moment. Plan is underway to fund it. Dave
  4. Oddly enough that was another VID i was going to post but i found the slap a little too much for me and went for the Aram one. This clip is borderline for me as he maintains a basic melody thru most of it. I get the feeling he's slapping as its his best style for showing off and he could probably have got the same effect with less slap. I quite like him as he uses a few different styles but still too much slap for my liking. What he's doing here works for him in this scenario where he's basically showcasing himself. Just my opinion of course
  5. I'm not a huge fan of slap either but i like it on occasion in certain parts of songs. I have a huge respect for those bass players that can do it properly. There's no doubt it takes a lot of work to master it and at the same time make it entertaining. I dont like to hear it when its just rapid slap and pop with no tune or melody of any kind. I enjoy this style of slap. Its melodic to my ear and just easy to listen to.
  6. Altho i'm a Mesa fan at moment i keep getting suggestions to look at Barefaced gear. That's very nice indeed. Dave
  7. Enjoyed that but do wonder if the drummers name is Rocky. 😂
  8. I got my Sandberg VM4 from Mark at Classic & Cool and it arrived very well packed. I'd definitely buy from Mark again. Dave
  9. Ok i see what you mean. I'll stick to my cash on collection.😀
  10. I'm a bit naive when it comes to these things and always ask for cash on collection unless thru BC but how does the scam work with this. ? If he pays you on Paypal then his courier picks it up after payment whats the scam part ? Serious question as i dont want to be caught by it. Dave
  11. Think originally i was looking for either a 4000 or 4001. General 4000 series. If i remember right the 4001 was generally active but there are many examples where 4000 were active and vice versa with 4001's passive. 4000 normally had the small pick up surround too. Dave
  12. Shame i cant play it unless i take on a free Spotify subscription. I have a sneaky suspicion i might actually have an account. 😁 I did and all sorted. Dave
  13. That's amazing @Dood. First i've seen it. Some great songs and basslines, Dave
  14. If doing it on a general radio show i'd go for bassists that majority of people might recognise or hit songs that have amazing bass lines. Bassists like these that your audience will initially recognise the songs and you can explain who the bass player is. Pino Palladino - Wherever i Lay my Hat John Deacon - Another One Bites the Dust Bakitho Kumalo - You Can Call me Al. ( probably not a bassist most people will recognise the name but the song was a huge hit) I guess it will depend on what type of audience you have. Dave
  15. Depends on the shop taking the trade. I've had deals that were good and others that were ridiculous and an insult. Personally i'd sell privately either on here or try Facebook Marketplace but only do cash on collection to save any issues. Also Gumtree and finally i might try ebay as a last resort. BC for sale page is the place to go as you'll get an honest interest from a fellow BC'er. Dave
  16. Most Warwick amps are great at what they do. With 2 channels its a working bass players dream if using 2 different style basses. Warwick reliability thrown in and at this price for a 1000W class D is amazing. Even as a studio amp with it being Class D you dont need the power amp side or a speaker but you still have the benefits of 2 pre-amp channels there. And both channels can be used at same time i think. An extremely flexible amp. If i wasn't happy with my Mesa gear i might have jumped at this. Shocked its not sold by now. Dave
  17. Such a great amp. Tremendous EQ variations. Nice warm tube pre-amp. Had one up to a few yrs ago and loved the tone. Mine was an older 1993 one from US that i had transformer replaced for use on 230V. It was that good it was worth it. GLWTS Dave
  18. I've had a conservatory for approx 20 yrs now built from our patio door area. In winter it gets pretty cold and when the house heating comes on it suffered from a lot of condensation issues which caused mould build up in some low lying areas. I have an oil stand alone heater with digital thermostat set at 7 oC. 3 yrs ago when i retired i got the roof insulation and what a difference it made. No condensation or dampness issues at all now. Other big benefits are that now it doesn't get freezing cold in winter and seems to stay a bit cooler during hot sunny days plus no sun glare thru the roof panels. Not sure about your bass not affecting the neighbours from the conservatory as they aren't really that well sound proofed. Dave
  19. I find a good compromise of growing my finger nails to catch the strings and amp EQ can give me that same attack as a pick yet guitarists still debate this to the death. I think its mental instability amongst guitar players that causes this affliction. Maybe they are just sexually inadequate and just need gadgets to get there. 😂 Dave
  20. Kinda my thoughts on picks but i'll keep at it. Dave
  21. I'm always up for a free coffee. I do care...............honest 😁
  22. Getting old has its problems right enough. I guess i dont need to prove myself o anyone these days. That's a bonus 😂 Dave
  23. I used to play the piano part from the start of Turn of the Century by Yes when i was young and a complete fanatic for bass in my late teens / early 20's or as near as possible to it as i could get. On hindsight it was probably slower than the original but still fast enough to impress people in music shops 😂 I had the music book for that album and still do. Dont think my fingers could move that fast now.
