  1. I see a Mesa bass rig there too. Is that the WD800 and 215 cab ? How you finding it. Dave
  2. Not had a gig in ages. Rehearsal got cancelled at weekend too. Got a biker rally on Sat night tho but its a 4hr drive each way. Nightmare drive home but thankfully my wife is coming along and can share the driving. One of those gigs where the fee barely covers the fuel. Dave
  3. Star billing there Daryl. Nice one sir. Looks like a great venue and show. Dave
  4. TITG by any chance at end of Aug ? Dave
  5. Go on Mickey, ask the question. Its why we're all here, to find out what basses and amps other players are using. No interest in any other gear, just the bass gear and name of the band is always nice. When i post i start with both venue and band name and usually end with bass gear. Dave
  6. Gotta Getaway and Nobody's Hero by S.L.F for the punk band's next gig at a bike rally in Tomintoul next weekend. We were due to rehearse today but due to health issues had to cancel. Dave
  7. Bit poor with the drummer of 9yrs. Don't understand people that do that. No need for it unless a massive blow out over something but when there are gigs in the diary you should still offer to honour them until a replacement is found. Hopefully a full replacement can be found quickly. Dave
  8. Enjoying a wee revival of Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush. Had What's Next album on vinyl and bought a triple album CD incl LIVE, Tales of the Unexpected and What's Next. The guy is a terrific guitarist and the bass player is very impressive doing some really nice riffs for this kind of music. Here's a couple of tracks from it. Dave
  9. One of mates has a Led Zep tribute band that's been running quite a few years but approx 5-6yrs ago they went acoustic Led Zep bringing in a violin and 2 cello players with him on mainly acoustic guitars and singer. They also brought in a female backing singer and they've played the same theatre style venues they did as the full Led Zep tribute band. One of the cello players has the traditional wood cello and the other a carbon fibre type and they do definitely sound quite different. They cover the bass parts of the Zep songs on the cello's and do a fantastic job. The guy with carbon cello (think his first name is Callum) is a pure showman with long dreadlocks etc and he's extremely entertaining to watch. He changes from bow to plucking the cello with so much ease and both get their little solo spots. He has played the Albert Hall as part of an orchestra tribute to the legendary Jack Bruce. Have to say it opened up my eyes to cello players and their ability. He is also very good at doing ad-lib. Dave
  10. Here's a couple of oldies i came across this morning. Dave Scarlet Inside - rehearsal 2013 (Prog) Mind Sculpture - 2015 (Prog) Hot Love - 2016 (Glam covers)
  11. My Shergold twin neck as it was a one off custom build for me. Almost bought it back but when i mentioned i was the original owner it all went quiet. WAL even tho it had a dead spot i think on hindsight it may have been an easier fix than i thought but will never know. Aria SB1000 just a great bass with a fantastic tone. Fender 80's Jazz in mocha with maple neck. It was just great to play and a wonderful tone. Dave
  12. 100% reliable. I also went with the RH cable from Designacable who now supply all my cables. Great company. My GLXD has never let me down since buying it and i've used it on stages with many other wireless systems. Dave
  13. Because i won't post much of my gear i have taken some money off if the person has genuinely come a fair distance to collect but only if they haven't asked and i will wait until they've paid me and then give them something back to help with their fuel costs. Now you'll all be expecting something back after payment is made. Wish i had kept my big gob shut. I have to say i don't do that for someone that lives 10 miles along the road from me Dave
  14. I don't buy and sell a lot but i've never offered lower than the asking price on BC. I like to think there's a mutual respect. Obviously i won't go for something that i believe is well over its value to me. Likewise i tend to advertise things cheaper here than elsewhere. I don't recall anyone making an offer on BC tho. Usually the buyer pays the asking price. Had a lot of chancers elsewhere tho. I try not to be rude to anyone making an offer as you never know when you might be desperate for cash. Dave
  15. I use "Hot Covers" for all my amp and cab covers. Quite a thick cover offering some protection from minor scrapes or knocks rather than just a thin rain cover. Dave
  16. i've really appreciated your help and advice over the past few years @agedhorse Putting my mind at ease with words of encouragement and explanations of the various issues during covid etc. Yourself, Al Kraft and a few others on the TB site have been really supportive. Dave
  17. Thanks Steve, its been a while. Have to say i'm like a kid at Xmas at the moment. Dave
  18. Andertons have confirmed my TT800 will be with them end of July. Getting excited now. Dave
  19. Nice. I do like my Sandberg basses. They just have a nice feel to them. Look forward to seeing the pics. Dave
  20. what Sandberg did you get Mart.? Dave
  21. Superb stuff there. Really enjoyed that and the bass sounded amazing. I'm guessing you were thru the PA ? Dave
