  1. Who's Mr Perks ? Sorry i better google that as it seems uncool on BC if you don't know someone. Dave
  2. Nowt wrong wie that. Its my hobby after bass. 1:76 scale model railways. Relaxing drifting off into another world and better times . Dave
  3. I'm a Scot so football obviously not important for us any more
  4. Didn't work for me. Hair's clean but i'm still rubbish at bass
  5. Midnight Moses just in case anyone is getting confused. Both by the amazing SAHB
  6. I get you there @Baxlin. For something that started off as a simple question about whether his music is mediocre the thread seemed to take a turn for the worse. Shame as it could have been an interesting thread and could have been used for other "mature" musicians still going. Dave
  7. Thought he was good in Kaja but since then he has just totally impressed me with the things he's accomplished. I'd agree the man is a legend in his own time. He can play any style, finger, pick, slap and Chapman stick. And he comes across as a genuine nice guy. Dave
  8. At 60 i don't actively go seeking music but regularly come across a band on youtube i've never heard before. Most times i hear suggested bands on BC and think they are worth looking into a bit more. I'm not one for streaming or downloading music, i prefer to buy the CD. Only thing i've noticed is that i do seem to listen to my favoured styles of music like Prog. In recent years some cover bands i've been in had songs from artists i'd never heard so that was a new avenue i did search out. Greg Allman, Tony Joe White being examples. I've bought CD's from younger bands that were suggested on BC. Dave
  9. Yep it surprised me when i first saw them doing The Four Horsemen. Vangelis on keys too Dave
  10. Not a boast on my part. Someone suggested that they were shocked or surprised that everyone hadn't heard of him. Unless you are into that style of music or even follow that particular musician then why should everyone know him. Bet there are many other "famous" musicians i haven't heard off in music genres i don't listen to. Dave
  11. WOW i just went back and read thru the last 3 pages since i posted earlier and the thread seems to have gone off topic a bit at times. I really like Tears in Heaven and like many songwriters they tend to write about their feelings at the time. I always regard that song as EC writing about his loss. With regards the racism issue i think others have covered it for me so nothing more to add. The thread was started to ask who thought EC music was mediocre. Best we stick to the point and focus on the music as we should be doing on a bass forum. I believe Nathan East was Claptons bassist for many years. That's probably the only reason i enjoy playing Clapton songs because its great fun playing Nathan's bass lines. Another bass legend. Dave
  12. Have to say i've never heard of him either. Googled him and only band i recognise the name of is Foo Fighters. Don't see the connection to the bass forum. Is he not a guitarist or is it another Bob Mould i've read about on Wiki. ? Dave
  13. Can't say i'm a fan of EC. I find most of his more recent material a bit bland compared to some of the classic hits he's had over his long career. I would never criticise the quality of musicianship but not enough interest in it for me. Its generally not my style of music to listen to. On the other hand my wife really likes EC. If i need to learn any of his songs for a band i find the bass lines can be interesting tho and i quite enjoy playing them. Dave
  14. I posted a vid clip earlier today from a 70's band called F.a.n.n.y. and it changed it to Craddock . Thought that was pretty cool change tho
  15. Brilliant band, brilliant album. From their best era IMHO. Met Francis Dunnery in the bar area after his support gig to Robert Plant in Glasgow (i wasn't a big Robert Plant fan but a huge It Bites fan) Such a nice down to earth guy who sat and chatted for ages with us. A legend Dave
  16. Little bit of "craddock" (auto correct name change ?) from 70's. Not sure why they weren't a lot more famous. Great musicians producing some great songs. Liked this one tho.
  17. Aye ye got me there. Can't argue with that one. Yir goosed mate. Dave
  18. Can you not just play it with master volume down ? Class D should be more than capable of maintaining tone with master volume reduced. Also most Class D amps don't reach the claimed rating they have which in effect acts like a safety barrier That's just my own experience of Class D amps. Exception being the EBS Reidmar 750 i have as a back up to my Mpulse 600. Its the loudest amp i've ever used. Shame to lose an amp you really like. Dave
  19. If doing an album suggestion it would have to be Aladdin Sane, but Diamond Dogs would be nice to hear in its entirety too. Or Ziggy, Hunky Dory, Space Oddity, Young Americans or even Station To Station. Here's a thought .........do the David Live album ........live. Its an album i don't actually have so gonna check out Amazon right now. So many choices, so many options. Dave
  20. Hope you got the bass ok and curious to see how you are doing with it. Cheers Dave
