  1. Brilliant band, brilliant album. From their best era IMHO. Met Francis Dunnery in the bar area after his support gig to Robert Plant in Glasgow (i wasn't a big Robert Plant fan but a huge It Bites fan) Such a nice down to earth guy who sat and chatted for ages with us. A legend Dave
  2. Little bit of "craddock" (auto correct name change ?) from 70's. Not sure why they weren't a lot more famous. Great musicians producing some great songs. Liked this one tho.
  3. Memories of times long gone now.
  4. Aye ye got me there. Can't argue with that one. Yir goosed mate. Dave
  5. That's what wives / partners are for @BassBus
  6. Toes count too you know. Dave
  7. Can you not just play it with master volume down ? Class D should be more than capable of maintaining tone with master volume reduced. Also most Class D amps don't reach the claimed rating they have which in effect acts like a safety barrier That's just my own experience of Class D amps. Exception being the EBS Reidmar 750 i have as a back up to my Mpulse 600. Its the loudest amp i've ever used. Shame to lose an amp you really like. Dave
  8. If doing an album suggestion it would have to be Aladdin Sane, but Diamond Dogs would be nice to hear in its entirety too. Or Ziggy, Hunky Dory, Space Oddity, Young Americans or even Station To Station. Here's a thought .........do the David Live album ........live. Its an album i don't actually have so gonna check out Amazon right now. So many choices, so many options. Dave
  9. Hope you got the bass ok and curious to see how you are doing with it. Cheers Dave
  10. I love Bowie and try to see a.n.other Bowie tribute every year they come to Scotland. I'm still waiting on you guys coming up here too so come on extract the digit and make the effort............PLEASE. I had never heard Slip Away to be honest till it was mentioned here and really enjoyed it. I tend to get lost in Bowie once i start. His back catalogue is tremendous and so much to listen to. Anyway !!!!! what's wrong with The Laughing Gnome ? Its a brilliant comical wee song and also very popular with Bowie fans. There are probably several others i would love to hear a Bowie tribute play but i'd be here all day listing them. Have to say your existing set list covers most of what i'd be happy listening to. Have you tried doing what some tribute acts do successfully and cover a full album either in first set or 2nd set and vary the other set. Aladdin Sane would be my choice album of course. Or cover the Live Ziggy album would be interesting. As a 70's Glam Rock covers band we cover Jean Genie, Rebel Rebel, Ziggy Stardust and considering Hang on to Yourself Anyway i'm sure you have already considered or already done these things so i'll head off now and listen to some more Bowie. Dave
  11. When I Live My Dream Love You Till Tuesday Shapes of Things Here Comes the Night Width of a Circle Memory of a Free Festival....(Something a little more acoustic) Janine Wild Eyed Boy from FreeCloud Laughing Gnome The Prettiest Star R&R with Me 1984 Where Are We Now You got me into looking at Bowie songs again and wee bit lost in the moment so some of these might already be in the set list already. Probably some of my fav not so well played songs from Bowie. I'm more a fan of his earlier work up to and including Station to Station. After that it was only occasional songs i liked up to Blackstar. Dave
  12. You could make some space and let me look after your Staccato bass. I wouldn't charge for rent .........honest. Dave
  13. Wouldn't buy the album but i did find it quite an amusing little Vid. Certainly made me laugh a few times as well. Obviously talented. With the way the bassist lovingly stares over at the drummer i think there's more than just bass and drums going on there. Dave
  14. Bought one of these when i had a shoulder issue and it was superb. Now the shoulder is fine i just use it as a normal strap and its still the comfiest strap i've ever owned in 40+ years even with my heavier basses. Dave
  15. So are all Sandberg necks exact same or do the Jazz versions have thinner necks like Fenders ? Dave
  16. And you felt obliged to help him. I can understand that.
  17. Think that would be my first option too. Nothing to lose if you have the broken part. Shame this happens with the bass you've just bought. Dave
  18. Is that Sandberg answer ? Seems like quite a reasonable and practical solution rather than take it to a luthier who will charge a few quid to fit. Gives you the option of fitting yourself. Not sure there's much more they could offer unless you wanted to buy it direct from Sandberg. You could take to a Sandberg dealer who will fit a new one for you. Guitar Guitar might do in house repairs if there's one near you. I'd end up taking it to a reputable repair shop myself as i'm not really into repairs on anything that relates to necks. Dave
  19. I met him a couple of times at the Moffat Bass Bash few yrs back. Not sure if he's still doing them. Really nice guy and knows his stuff too. Dave
  20. That was a bargain Dave
  21. Think Alan is based in Moffat so not too far away either. Not 100% sure but i think that's where Chris at Overwater gets his pick ups. Could be wrong tho. Dave
  22. I'll have a wee look on Youtube in morning. Bed time for me. Spent few hrs last night watching the lightning storms all around me. Best in 15 years. Wee bit tired tonight tho. I'm getting too old for late nights Dave
  23. I know his name. Gonna google. Nope not sure how i know that name. Nice wee song. Relaxing. I can see my wife's foot tapping as its being played Dave
  24. Had mine a year now and its my goto bass for everything. Great with Sandberg steel strings but superb with flats too. Fantastic necks. Best i've played in years. Quality for the money is 2nd to none. Dave
