  1. Some of those rigs have moved on since the pics.😂 Current rig is Mesa Mpulse in Mesa PH212 (8ohm) Berg HT322 i kept in case i needed a more powerful cab as its 4ohm and would let me get max out the Mpulse if ever needed. To be honest i've just never needed it. I have an EBS Reidmar 750 as a back up amp as well. The Berg AE112 cabs got me into the HT322 because of the quality and tone but the AE112's lacked something that i put down to depth or heft for want of better description. Plan is to sell some of those off and get a Mesa TT800 with the new Subway 2x15 cab. The Ampeg was what got me interested in a more reliable tube pre-amp head and started looking at the Mesa and would have bought yours but just a bit too far away. Mesa gear has been the best gear i've used in 40+ years with a mates Orange all tube head into an 810 cab that was also very nice coming a close second. Dave
  2. The GK1001Rbii and Berg HT322 combination was impressive giving fantastic definition with great depth but the GK amp just wasn't doing it for me. All sounded a bit too clean and "clinical" if that's the right word. ? I've still to try my Mpulse thru the Berg cab. The Berg sounded fantastic with the Ampeg SVT4 Pro but the weight of both was too much plus the Ampeg head kept breaking down too often altho never with the band just at home. I bought the GK as a back up amp. Dave
  3. Forgot about this baby i bought from @karlfer few yrs back now and is one of the best cabs i've ever known and its still in mint condition. Very heavy tho so at some stage i might let it go as my Mesa rig now does everything i need and might be looking at Subway lightweight range once band starts gigging again Bergantino HT322 with a 12 and 2x10's with horn.
  4. Not the bass i've had the longest from around 2008 /2009 i think but its the cheapest bass i own at moment. Its my Fender Geddy Jazz CIJ that i bought in a shop sale. Its the bass i use most at home and when suits within a band setting too. I just love the feel and playability of it.
  5. Most of the pics before page 14 of the thread are no longer available. Guessing they were before the updates we had on BC. Maybe repost if you still have them.....would be nice to see them. Dave
  6. I cant open the links for some reason ? Dave
  7. Its the only one i've seen with that headstock and it does make the bass look quite different. Dave
  8. I def like the look of your bass. That's a shape i'd def go for. I'm off to listen to that WHO isolated track now
  9. Cracking pics of some gorgeous basses i'd love to own. Any chance we could get some descriptions of how they feel, play, sounds and how they compare to other basses you may have had. Just to give us poor people an idea of what they are like to play as i could see me picking up a 2nd hand one at some point. I still need to go thru every page yet so maybe there are descriptions further back. My apologies if that's the case. Dave
  10. That's an Enterprise control panel. What does it all do ?😀 Gorgeous bass but i think i'd prefer a more simplistic control system. Dave
  11. Only just catching up on this thread. Some gorgeous basses.
  12. Like that a lot.
  13. That's a big chunk of wood there. Not surprised it was heavy looking at that pic.
  14. Even just a list of them without pics if none available. Some of my pics were scanned photos or modern phones just take a snapshot of the photo.
  15. Show us your Alembic pics and share your thoughts on your bass. Are they all good. Dave
  16. You've had some amazing basses. Have you listed them on the "How many basses" thread. Just curios. Always fancied an Alembic but cost puts me off. I do however have a notion for another Aria Pro SB1000 either an original one or the re-issues are meant to be just as good. Dave
  17. Its approx 35yrs since i had my WAL but i do remember how i loved that tone and that the bass was really well made compared to any other i had tried. Apart from the possible dead spot 😂 Dave
  18. Having had both i'd agree they are quite different in feel and tones available. For me its all about that WAL tone and that's the main reason i'd buy another one. I do like that classic WAL tone. Goes without saying they are generally exceptionally well built basses. Dave
  19. 2nd hand they are a lot of bass for the money especially with the types of wood used. Bubinga and Wenge. As you say the early ones are by far superior basses IMHO. The necks are sublime. Not sure i'd buy a new one these days. Anyway best not hijack the WAL thread. Dave
  20. Brilliant Neil. I didn't want to copy them over myself as they aren't mine. Dave
  21. Ooohhhh that's very nice indeed. Not listened to a lot of Joni. Worth checking out on Amazon i reckon. thanks Dave
  22. My Warwick Thumb was approx £1200 in 89 when i bought it from Sound Control Glasgow. Bass Centre had a sale on at £980 and i challenged them that i could just get it from Bass Centre so they gave me it for £980. Its the longest i've ever had a bass and after playing it yesterday for a while i don't ever see me selling it. Its simply glorious to play with its very slim neck and low action with that classic Warwick growl. Dave
  23. Mine was £740 in early 80's. A Flame Sycamore lined fretless. I traded it because it had a dead spot on the G string. When i contacted WAL they didn't really want to know and weren't helpful. That put me off them but that was the old days and i had a lack of knowledge of what can cause a dead spot. Maybe something daft like a saddle or string issue altho i did try different types of strings at the time. I tried living with it but it just annoyed me no end. Loved the feel and tone tho. Really gorgeous looking bass as well.
  24. Neil's also just posted Ready and Willing on his FB page along with quite a few others. Hopefully he'll share that on BC too. Dave
  25. If the WAL is something you've given a lot of serious thought to and what you want and dreamed of for a long time then just go for it. All assuming you can afford it of course. You're only alive once so make the best of what you can. Dave
