  1. This for our next rehearsal whenever that will be.
  2. Wish you all the best and hope you get in to DWP Now what about my claims. ? Can you help. ? Just giving you some prior notice to make sure you are prepared for them. Good Luck👍 Dave
  3. That's good to know. Thanks for the tip. Dave
  4. Will have a look @Bilbo. They could be interesting. Thanks for sharing them Dave
  5. That's a very nice looking Panther bass Dave. not seen one that colour before. How does it sound ? Is it like any other type of bass you've tried ? Almost bought one a few yrs back in burl maple but was a bit too much of a stretch on my budget. Dave Dave
  6. Just had a quick lok first 10 pages and some really nice basses in there and some great prices albiet postage is gonna be a bit more expensive but still some nice gear i haven't seen before. Blue sunburst Rik bass was stunning. Dave
  7. Don't know them ? The one i had originally been looking to have built was in Thomann exact same bass and then i saw the white one in Classic and Cool guitars and that was it for me. Love it, brilliant basses. I've played quite a few in shops tho so i knew what i was getting build wise. I'd definitely consider a passive VS4 to keep my VM4 company. Dave
  8. Saw a couple of Nash P basses at Over £2k. I know they are good but i've seen Nash P basses sell for £800 and they were nice looking basses too Having never tried one its hard to judge but even the Alembic seemed a tad pricey compared to other shops or BC. Obviously i'm no Alembic expert either. Dave
  9. That's nice but seems a wee bit expensive for a VS4. Might be worth looking around a bit. I got my VM4 new for £1200. Vs4 is usually a bit cheaper. Dave
  10. This might help a bit too Saturday Nights Alright For Fighting Bass by Elton Johntabs @ Ultimate Guitar Archive.html
  11. Yep i used that version to help me learn it.
  12. One of my fav Journey songs. Put me in mood for this Journey song where the guitar solo at the end is simply phenomenal for me. Loved his tone. Randy Jackson on bass too. Big fan of Ross Valory tho who usually does an great job of playing exactly what the song needs but Randy added something more IMHO Took me a few shots to get the right version i was thinking of.
  13. I was quite looking forward to playing this set but the BL decided he's had enough of playing in bands and put it all on hold. He is 70yrs young along with singer but still 20 yr olds at heart. Who knows if it will ever come to anything in future. Meanwhile my own band is taking advantage of the spare time and adding a good few new songs into our repertoire. Dave
  14. Listening to this 4 CD compilation album of Prog bands and this track stood out for me. Reminded me a bit of Kansas but really enjoyed this.
  15. That's what i do too. I usually play thru and with the song 2-3 times to get a feel for it first. Then i get the music tabs etc and look at youtube clips for the tricky bits that are sometimes missed on bass tabs. Once i'm happy i have it all i write it all out note for note for my own files. That way it helps me remember what i wrote as well as having learned it by ear or tabs. Maybe a bit overkill but i keep my notes just in case i ever need them again. Zep basslines are amazing even tho i'm not a huge Zep fan. Dave
  16. Always thought Delicate Sound of Thunder tour was far better sound quality plus Guy used his Spector bass for his solo and it had a fantastic tone. I found his tone on Pulse a bit more mellow. I had the old video of DSOT but couldn't find it on DVD. Dave
  17. God luck wie that one mate.
  18. Oddly enough i bought the CD at the time and wasn't aware it was Guy playing on it either. Maybe i did at the time and just forgot. Dave
  19. enjoyed that. liked the story behind where the bass line came from. Always nice to know the thinking behind a song. Guy is perfect for doing VID demo's Great voice and his playing is first class covering so many different styles over the years. And he's such a nice guy. What's not to like. Dave
  20. I'm retired anyways Blue. Living in countryside life hasn't changed that much for me. At least i'm getting the garden tidied up before summer this year. Its almost complete. I miss my trips to Costa coffee to watch the world go by or even the occasional lunch. Our band only gigs every couple of months due to other member commitments. I def miss my rehearsals tho Was a bit concerned for people like yourself who rely on gigs to survive. Our singer who does a lot of solo gigs on a weekly basis is looking at other jobs like stocking supermarket shelves at night to make ends meet. Health wise we are all good. Dave
  21. Just add the cancelled gigs onto the end of the ones you can manage this year. As much as its difficult i'm trying to take a positive slant on what's happening. I'm assuming the clubs, venues, events will all still be looking once this ends. We don't play a huge amount of gigs but we will just take up where we left off once this dies down a bit and start re-arranging any cancelled gigs as soon as the venues can take us. No point in being down on it. Dave
  22. Hopefully the gigs will still be there when it gets back to some sort of normality. How are you surviving without gigs Blue. ? Dave
  23. Historically never been a huge McCartney fan but had a notion for a greatest hits album. Bought this few days ago. Some of my favs are Jet, Band On The Run, Silly Love Song, Let Him In,
  24. Found this while browsing youtube music clips and thought it kind of appropriate
  25. Would be funny if he sits at the next desk to you.
