  1. Just bought a couple of Dave's band Grateful Dudes T shirts. Great price and as always first class comms all the way thru even tho he was busy at festive period. Arrived very quickly well packaged and proper postage bags as well. All very professional. Cheers sir you are a true gent. Dave
  2. I've joined bands that started off as "classic rock" (that old chestnut debate again) playing Deep Purple, Rainbow, Sabbath etc but after a few months rehearsals the singer wants to do a Metallica song, then the guitarist suggests doing a Motorhead song and so it went on for couple of months to a point we had more metal songs than what i regarded as classic rock. I'm not a big fan of metal altho Sandman by Metallica was actually a great song to play but the overall feel of the band had turned into a metal band and the songs i had suggested before i joined were gradually getting phased out. I decided to leave at that point saying it wasn't really my kind of music anymore and not what i signed up for. (They had a decent set list made up before i joined and when i saw it i thought this could be good) Dave
  3. My musical taste is reasonably varied and changes thru time. I've been asked to join bands that altho i enjoy listening to the music i don't particularly get a lot of satisfaction playing it and i'm usually upfront and simply tell the band and we part ways amicably. Other bands its been the other way round where i don't particularly listen to that style but once joining i found the challenge really good and i found a style i really liked playing. Most times i leave a band its down to people and attitudes i can't accept. Dave
  4. When i read the thread title i assumed it was Classic Rock bands rather than Classic Rock songs. For me and its just my own thoughts a classic rock song is one that is remembered as being truly outstanding and lasted the test of time like someone mentioned earlier in the thread Stairway and some others like Smoke On Water. Boys are Back In Town, Paranoid, Pinball Wizard and more recent for me, songs like Iron Maidens Trooper and Run to the Hills i would think might be. (I was never a huge IM fan but those are the ones i remember and still hear being played today) All from my generation of rock when i was in my late teens and 20's. I reckon teens into 20's is when most people will relate their idea of Classic Rock era. Dave
  5. This is always a touchy subject on here. For me personally Classic Rock was when Rock was at it height in 70's / 80's. When i think of Classic Rock i think Deep Purple, Rainbow, Alice Cooper, Sabbath, Whitesnake and similar bands. I think it depends on your age group tho Dave
  6. 18mths with a band i wouldn't be classing you as a newbie anymore.
  7. Wasn't aware you could do that. Thought the account was tied to your email address. Does that mean a 2nd email address. Do these people have issues or split personalities running 2 different identities ? Is that Identity Theft or just cloning. I guess i could argue with myself and i would always win. Don't see the point in it to be honest. Dave
  8. Outrageous from any band even more so just before Xmas. Agree with others, the reasons he left will resurface and he'll leave again. Out of curiosity how long were you in the band ? Move on to something better and get it out your system. If it helps i'd be raging too. Dave
  9. If your that happy with your TE amp then don't see the point in wasting money on the Mesa. I'm a Mesa owner and love them but unlike you i was never satisfied with previous amps and i've tried many many amps incl Trace over the years. Dave
  10. That's a lot of learning Dave. The T shirts price at gigs needs to be a balance i reckon. Any gigs i've been to with cover or tribute bands you'd be looking at £15 - £20 for a T shirt.
  11. That's not too bad. Was that a tour or one gig ?
  12. Smooth radio were playing all the Xmas songs on Wed while i was driving. That song was the first one i heard when putting car radio on. Normally i don't listen to the radio to be honest. Dave
  13. Looks like this has been a worthwhile thread for you Dave
  14. I found the Elixirs a little more tension but nothing i couldn't get used to very quickly. (40-100 gauge). Long lasting and i might end up going back to them on my Sandberg VM4 from the flats. Still not decided. Dave
  15. Think that was mentioned somewhere along the way as it rings a Xmas bell. Dave
  16. Just heard this as soundtrack to a Xmas movie on TV. Really liked it and surprised its not played more at Xmas
  17. I'll PM you my details Dave but i'll be taking a Medium and a Large please. Dave
  18. You have caused a severe financial strain on many families this Christmas. Many children will have no presents and could go hungry on Xmas day now. Families will be suffering from electricity and gas being cut off. And all for the sake of having a new Mesa item. I hope you're happy with yourself @krispn Dave
  19. where's that ? i'm easily led and very susceptible to missing sarcasm and humour of similar natures
  20. They only hate you in a lovable sort of way.
