  1. Liking the band name "Jump the Shark" ............Kool name. Sounds like it was a great night. Everyone goes home happy. I love it. Dave
  2. Had to google Robert Wyatt as never heard of him altho i have heard of Soft Machine but never really listened to them much. Think i might look at the Bruford autobiography Dave
  3. Wee support gig in Glasgow last night with our good friends Status Quoing. Played for an hour, had the dance floor bouncing for 2nd half of our set and even asked for a few encores but time constraints we could only do the one. Lot of people recording the band throughout the gig with phones. Lots of pics being taken. Busy club venue and great atmosphere. Band played well. Not our own PA but sound was pretty good out front. Lack of stage monitors caused a few problems when we couldn't hear singer at times but all on all a nice wee gig. Thoroughly enjoyed. Quite enjoy support gigs. We turn up, play and go home early. No PA's to set up, no lighting to set up and its an early finish and home by 11pm even after a visit to McD's...........and we get paid too. Dave
  4. A little bit of Yes will certainly push you to your limits. All the very best with the op. Sure you'll be back hammering those YES frets in no time.
  5. All the -ve comments about Bruford's autobiography has got me interested in reading it now to see what you are all talking about. Dave
  6. After @Bilbo mentioned in another thread that he was transcribing a track from the Bruford One of a Kind album i thought i should maybe upgrade from my vinyl copy to a CD version. Arrived yesterday and i had forgotten what an amazing album it was. This was what got me into listening to Mr Berlin and following his many youtube clips. If only i could play like him Bill Briford - drums Jeff Berlin - bass Dave Stewart - keys Allan Houldsworth - guitar Did manage to see Jeff Berlin with John McLaughlan many years ago and he impressed me a lot live. Just thought i would share part of this happy wee moment in life. Probably not to everyone's taste.
  7. I know. I was there. Do you want some pics.
  8. YES YES YES. I'm keeping my recent purchase for my weeks holiday in Sept.
  9. Looks like Glasgow standard tickets (x2) sold out. Can get a single seat for £138 or a VIP package for 2 at £799 but i get access to the VIP merchandise ......to buy something. The £138 seat is at the very back section of the Glasgow Hydra arena in the gods. Def not happening for me now. Dave
  10. Maybe the arena venues are just adding a higher cut and bumping up the ticket prices. Don't think i've ever seen an arena or stadium gig that i thought was excellent apart from Floyd in Earls Court 1980 doing the Wall but that's a full on show. Some have been good but never great. Venues that hold up to 5k i find have a better atmosphere. Dave
  11. I think musically Genesis should be ok. The only doubts were Phils vocals and perhaps his mobility. The music itself i expect will be pretty close to what they've always done, I simply grudge the ridiculous prices being charged but i also don't like huge venues where the band can be so far away it could be anyone on that stage. Many people have been asking for a Genesis reunion for years and the guys probably thought this might be their last chance to do it and keeping in mind that they were together as a band for many years so they will have a fair bit of Nostalgia for everyone. For anyone that goes i reckon you just need to accept that things might be a little different from their last tour but its still Genesis. Dave
  12. I can return that too if you leave your car parked with keys in the ignition and i'll leave your tenner with the Services staff.
  13. If you park your car in the same spot and leave the keys in the ignition i'll return your gear...........honest
  14. Just for info the GK MB200 puts out 200W @ 4 ohm and 140W @ 8 ohm so you could damage speakers if using just the one cab. MB200is quite a loud wee amp for its size. I have one used for sound effects pedal as a DI to PA. Before that it was used as a back-up amp and at occasional rehearsals when i couldn't be bothered humfing a heavy amp around Dave
  15. If you want them back i can return at your expense
  16. When a few people mentioned how much Phil pays out i was just curious to see what they are all worth.
  17. Don't think Genesis are short of a few quid. PC's net worth is currently £200 million. MR's net worth up to £45 million. TB's net worth £38 million Depends on which site you check but they have a few quid in the bank by looks of it and still they charge daft prices at their gigs.
  18. Thanks for that as i didn't know that. I usually go direct to the venue for any tickets
  19. Was it in plain sight or hidden in the boot. If hidden i'd be asking how they knew it was even there.
  20. what venue was that
  21. How many did you buy
  22. A Wishy lad. My old hunting ground Girdwoods and Heathery and the Crown (later Sherlocks where i met my better half) when it was going. Those were the days of many many bands in Wishaw. Heading down to Girdwoods on 14th to see Emergency Exit. Our drummers other band. Fantastic punk covers band. Worth seeing. Dave
  23. Virginia Plain - Roxy Music Action - Sweet
  24. Love the bass tone on that song. Version i looked at was P bass into Orange rig. Dave
  25. Would love to see that when finished @Bilbo. One of my all time fav albums. Dave
