  1. I also like the idea of your tone being pre-selected which means its easily repeatable. Why has this not the norm for passive basses. Surely its not expensive to change one pot to one like this. Dave
  2. Our very own Cetera used to do an excellent job of Gene Simmons so i guess you're right. I liked the older Kiss material Destroyer from 76 being a top 5 fav album over the years unfortunately i've never managed to see them but i've seen a few tributes including Cetera in Dressed to Kill and they have been close to the originals as far as image and stage show goes. Maybe not as huge a show but worth watching for me. Seen Floyd doing the original Wall way back early 80's and the support musicians were playing at one point and sounded just the same. LOL I guess any band can be copied. Dave
  3. That sounds good. Quite growling around the mid frequencies. I liked 3-5 settings with 3 probably my first choice but in a band setting i might take it up a couple of notches to cut thru a mix.
  4. Bet that sounds thunderous in a P bass.
  5. Post a pic of your bass as i'm trying to imagine how a T bird pick up looks in a P bass. Dave
  6. Whereabouts are you based ? I've watched a lot of the youtube clips on them but to be honest i'm not usually someone that changes things on a bass unless i absolutely have no choice. I usually just sell it and buy what i need ready made Dave
  7. Apologies having just checked its actually a Hiscox Liteflite Standard case i have. Not sure why i got that wrong. Dave
  8. Just checked out those Tonestyler units and they are excellent sounding. I can see me moving towards that. Quite liked the 4 way switching version for my Geddy Jazz.
  9. I use the SKB that came with my Overwater 6 string but both my Fender J & P basses and my Sandberg VM4 seem fine in the SKB. Can't say i've noticed too much movement in there because the top padding pushes down on the strings to keep the bass steady. Dave
  10. If this had been closer to me i might have jumped at this instead of a Fender version. That is very nice.
  11. Jings crivvens that is a bit extreme for a bass. Are you qualified to drive that thing. Probably worth it based on your comments. Dave
  12. WOW that's a bit of a belter sir. What do all the controls do. Its like the Enterprise control desk. Very nice Dave
  13. Think Kiss without Gene might be a bit poor as he really is the larger than life main character.
  14. Agree i thoroughly enjoyed it for the movie it was. I'm no Queen fanatic so for me it was close enough. Dave
  15. Nope i just don't see it Blue. We need more evidence i reckon. I just can't find any pics that hint at McCartney wearing a wig. ? As for KISS. Of course its their real hair. What makes you think otherwise Dave
  16. Was that very tour. I just couldn't remember the percussionists name but he had a weird set up and seemed to kneel if i remember right. Was a terrific night.
  17. +1 on this album. Saw bass playing in a different light when i heard this. Was lucky enough to see Jeff Berlin with John McLaughlin back in 80's. Been a fan of Jeff's since. Can't play like him but i can dream a lot. Dave
  18. Not a follower of Wishbone Ash altho i recognise and enjoy many of their older songs but have no idea of members or line ups etc but should your last line read Andy Powell rather than Andy Turner ? 🙂 Dave
  19. Looks like real hair to me but i'm no expert. Can't say i've ever seen a thinning hair pic of Paul McCartney over the years. Dave
  20. Had the plastic wig when i was 3 or 4 yrs old along with the Beatles plastic acoustic guitar. I even got my first Beatles single EP All My Loving in 63 / 64 which i still have the EP today. Afraid the wig and guitar got the worse deal and were either thrown out or damaged over the years Pretty sure i even have a pic with me wearing the wig and holding the guitar. B&W pic of course. Dave
