  1. I'm seeing a few of the Electra version going for silly money on FB Market Place. Dave
  2. Its good to hear the vocals so clear especially with the Glam Rock material. Sound guys did you well altho the talent has to be there to start with so give yourselves the credit i'm dishing on you. Dave
  3. Great biker gig. Saw the band VID clips on FB. Excellent guys, thoroughly the clips. Great sound, vocals really clear and guitar, bass and drums had a great balance. Nice one. Dave
  4. New to Sandbergs but is the VS4 the same bass as an Electra VS4 ? Are there different versions of the VS4 ? Dave
  5. Another great gig Dave but the Harley Museum i'd love to just visit let alone play there. Dave
  6. My dream gig Blue. Harley Davidson and playing bass all in one venue. Heaven on earth
  7. Maybe in a 4 stringer.
  8. Need to go try one see what its like but i have a notion for the 2nd hand black BB3000 i posted earlier. New kitchen being done in couple of months so need to wait till next year. 60th birthday so that might work very well and the Yamaha shape fits in well with my 70;s Glam covers band. Al...........i'm beginning to hate you Dave
  9. Now that in a 4 stringer would be nice. Mmmm STOP IT Al. its not fair. GAS is rising again. Dave
  10. better balance across the strings either tension or tonal i'm guessing. Not seen that done before. Dave
  11. There's no icon for throwing up so SAD will have to do. Surgeon said it was a cluster cyst so i'm guessing one root with several bags stretching from it. 2 large and few smaller ones all removed. If a cyst bursts it can get poisin into blood stream and can be quite serious. Ihad the first one for about 20+ yrs and had regular ultrasound scans if anything changed. Just very uncomfy. Anyway i'm drifting off thread here. Dave
  12. Yep ours did that too and then turned his amp up to the point i couldn't hear mine. Was just a small gig for drummers birthday with only a vocal PA but like the professional i am i struggle thru without hearing myself properly. The consummate professional
  13. At least i didn't need the old sock down the jeans routine. Might do now tho
  14. I'm just after surgery to remove 2 large cysts in that area 2" across. I'm enjoying the freedom to sit comfortably without squashing bits. Dare i say its good to feel normal again. Still got the remains of the disolving stitches but its been worth it. I'll now be able to sit comfortably in my Porsche, on my Harley and even cycling. Dave
  15. There's an operation for that now. Mrs SpondonBassed
  16. That's the tone i'm getting and for me its pretty much something i've been looking for. Nice sound, great band. Lovin the bass tone. Nice, clean but warm sounding. Dave
  17. What can i say.
  18. Have 4 cats at present ranging from 3 to 20yrs old and had cats for approx 25 yrs and never experienced anything like that. Ouch not nice. Dave
  19. They go down a storm in our 70's Glam covers band especially good old Shang-a-Lang at the end of the night. Women just love that song. Guys not so much Dave
  20. They are good but far too many to list. Here's a few of my favs in no particular order. Big Country, Runrig, Cappercailie, Deacon Blue, Pallas, SAHB, Nazareth, Gerry Rafferty, Jethro Tull (well Ian Anderson anyway) AC/DC (in a roundabout way of course), The Blue Nile, Simple Minds, Marmalade, Bay City Rollers Rod Stewart of course the famous twins The Proclaimers. Dave
  21. Should have given that option on the configurator. Its another way of making a few extra quid on a bass altho maybe not from me cause i'm a happy bunny Now that the strings have lost the hi-end rasp they are sounding quite nice. Bass has a nice mid sound to it. I'm liking mine more every day i play it which is every day of course. Dave
  22. They've been ahead of the game with most things so that all makes sense to me. It takes a bit of time to get a safe site up and running. Making the new pick-ups was probably the easier part. The configurator is a nice bit of fun if you aren't buying to see what can be done on a bass of your choosing. It's also a great starting point for anyone thinking of getting their ideas down on paper All credit to Sandberg Dave
  23. Maybe they just haven't got round to it yet. Are the Black Labels quite a new design for them ? When i bought my Overwater custom fretless 6er they fitted Armstrong pick ups and John East pre-amps. It wasn't until i spoke with Chris that he said other pick-ups and pre-amps can be fitted if that's what i want. Many manufacturers don't seem to advertise their other options unless you are serious about buying and specifically ask for something. Dave
  24. Agree its certainly one of the best bits of software for a bass i've seen. Gives you a great idea of how your bass will look before ordering. I bought mine from Classic and Cool Guitars which Chris had spec'd as far as i know so i was originally looking at the Limelight basses but the VM4 just really caught my eye. I did use the configurator but at that time i wasn't aware of pick up alternatives and to be honest never really gave it a 2nd thought. The ones i have tried have all been the large single oles so must have been either Sandberg's or Delanos and i was happy with the tone from them. I don't think i would bother upgrading. I'm happy with mine the way it is. Dave
