  1. Low to High and for some odd reason the last thing i do is double check at 12th fret. Dave
  2. I'd never heard The Grateful Dead until you joined a tribute and posted a track of theirs while back. Surprised me how good they were. I knew off them but hadn't actually listened to them for some strange reason. I'll blame you Dave.
  3. I bought one few months ago and it is by far the best sounding amp i have ever played thru and i've had everything from Marshall, Ampeg, Genz, Mark Bass, GK, Trace, Matamp, Roland, EBS, Aguilar, Orange and probably a few i've missed and this amp just knocks them clean out the water. The depth of tone, warmth and flexibility is excellent. The sound simply surrounds you rather than just hearing it. I'm amazed no-one local has bitten your hand off for this amp. If i had been closer i would have bought this one as well. Dave
  4. Was never a big Zep fan back in the day but got to like them as i got older. There are some bands i didn't buy specific albums but went for their greatest hits the Stones being a prime example. Have most of what i regard as classic albums or at least something from a classic band. Zep, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Rush, Sabbath, Dio, Maiden, Genesis, Floyd, Simon & Garfunkel, Allman Bros, Doobies, the list goes on and on but the topic is a bit subjective with regards what you believe is a classic band or album. Dave
  5. Sound of Contact altho its really just one album really impressed me with Dimensionaut.
  6. I'm same not a metal fan to be honest but i generally like a band documentary. I know a few Metallica songs right enough and enjoyed playing them in a Monsters of Rock covers band but wouldn't buy any albums. I could see the Metallica one being interesting as they have quite a volatile singer. Dave
  7. Oddly enough i remember thinking he wasn't a bad drummer back then either. He seemed to put a lot into his drumming. I could get along with Luke but think i might struggle with Matt's ego. I just couldn't take him seriously because of his attitude. Dave
  8. The maple necked 77 just sounded so much better to me. More zing but still having that P depth. Dave
  9. Last band that really got me was from Jools Holland show few yrs back. Fantastic album.
  10. I'm the same as above. I'd heard that before and the Gibson quite surprised me. I love my Jazz basses and i have a gorgeous 1989 Thumb NT but the P and Tbird were my favoured tones Dave
  11. And don't forget the Sneakiness.
  12. Had a mate who's a singer went on one of these shows and he said they dictated what he sang and almost every aspect of his show. He was asked to come back again in 2018 for an audition and told them no. He said he was treated badly by the team and it was all false so i have no respect for any of these shows.
  13. I decided to watch on catch up and i quite enjoyed it. So many of the things in it i recognise from bands i've been in with the petty fall outs between singers and guitarists and then the family issues between them. Coming from a family of 3 brothers and a sister some of our family just can't socialise together as the slightest comment wil trigger an arguement between them. Luke's not too bad a drummer and at the end of the day they did play it live......as far as i know. Yep i think Matt is a bit of a prima donna but many singers are like that and i can see why Luke has always felt a bit threatened especially when they turn up at the studio and the drums have all been pre-programmed so what's he there for. As a bass player i can relate to his circumstances and what he feels. Usually drummers and bassists are forgotten about in bands and their suggestions are ignored. Not a complaint its just the way it is. I could feel it when they sang Forgiveness in the studio. Quite a touching moment. Dave
  14. I tend to run my GK1001RBii almost flat thru a Berg HT322 with contour 9 o clock and presence off. I've never had any probs with heavy lows altho i tend to use a Jazz. Dave
  15. Your brother lied to you Andy. Never believe your brother. Santa is alive and well. He must be cause i got pressies and my brother doesn't live here 🎅 Dave
  16. Think most are usually ok to excellent but its always best to check. I've been doing it since i used to hire out PA's systems in 80's. Just habit from mixing our own band sounds all those years ago and i still do it without thinking. Dave
  17. Excellent news then. Def a keeper now, unless of course you want to give it to me cause i'm a nice person. worth a try
  18. Visit from the Environmental Health for oil spillage Put it into dealer and get it fixed properly ? Its a crackin car and still worth spending some money on i would think but you do get to a point it becomes a sinkwell just swallowing up money and you need to make a judgement call i guess
  19. I'll always have the soundman listen to my on stage sound first then tell him to bring up the FOH bass sound and i'll listen to see if he matches the sound i'll be hearing. Most good sound guys can do that quite easily and i always give them post EQ too. You should be able to tell even from the stage if the FOH sound is near what you expect. If its sub bassy then i would expect to have heard that at sound check and would say something. Maybe you didn't have the luxury of a sound check and i don't know your gig circumstances so difficult to know who is 100% to blame. Shame your childhod dream gig is ruined by FOH sound. I'd be furious. Dave
  20. Will do Lee. Still driving same car or did you get rid of the 911 after all ?
  21. All the very best to everyone for 2019 Sad to see the New Year start with the news of Ray Sawyer passing on at 81yrs of age. A true entertainer over the years. Dave
  22. Just had a look and there's a Yola on the show but no Yolanda. ?
