  1. Found it and the first run on the keys has no drums. Will try sampling that Cheers for that.
  2. Our own drummer would be playing the drum part when i trigger the siren from a JamMan pedal but i understand what you meant. Its a possibilty that we use the original and the drummer comes in when the sample is finished or even plays over the top of the original. Dave
  3. Not up to speed on Audacity software but is that a serious option that i could do. I don't mind trying that myself but just didn't think that could be done.
  4. I put it in OFF TOPIC cause it wasn't really bass related. Sometimes its a difficult call which topic somethings should be in and i just played it safe.
  5. That's how we did it at rehearsals but would be good to get the original siren sound if possible.
  6. There's an old thread on BC about this from 2016 but the samples have all been removed from Youtube so no success there either i'm afraid.
  7. Think it was a Yamaha ?? 30 keyboard or something similar with a portamento strip. Dave
  8. Went thru that thread and it tells the OP how to produce the sound using a synth but no actual sound clips i could use. I've tried several searches but still no accurate copy. I have found a synth copy but its not exactly rivetting stuff but would do as a last resort if i added some kind of effects to it Thanks Dave
  9. And here's me thinking i was gonna get some sensible replies............maybe they are the sensible replies Dave
  10. Neigh chance
  11. We are doing Crazy Horses but can't seem to reproduce the keys siren at the start. I generally trigger all effects with my JamMan pedal. Does anyone have an MP3 sample of it by any chance that they would send me. ? Dave
  12. That didn't take long then. You should mention it to them next time you see them.
  13. when i started playing bass in mid 70's the cheap basses really were rubbish. Things have changed quite a bit with some great cheaper basses out there. For me its down to trying the bass to see what its like before buying. Dave
  14. WOW you're well organised Steve.
  15. I use one bass all gig unless a problem with it and i'll use my backup bass so i tend to set it before i leave home and double check at soundcheck as well. Aren't you as easy to forget the pedal switch same as the active / passive switch on the amp or do you leave both basses plugged in before the gig starts. Dave
  16. I also have a Warwick Thumn NT89 and it is one of the nicest basses i've ever played. The quality of workmanship is 2nd to none IMO. However it does have a down side in that is a heavy bass to play all night. Still great to play. I also have a £3k Overwater Custom 6 string fretless and again the quality is sublime but its not a bass i bought for gigging. It was a 50th birthday pressie to improve my technique and enjoy a bit of fretless at same time. Sad to say i don't really play it much these days. I have Fender Deluxe P/J MIM gigging bass that does the job but certainly isn't the best quality bass i've ever had. Fret edges had to filed down and proper set up. The P pickups are a bit unbalanced volume wise but the Norstand J on it is perfect. I think at some point i might look for either a passive PJ or try a few US PJ basses. If i can't find a good one i'll end up with a Sandberg of some kind as they have really impressed me a lot My fav bass and my goto bass however is my CIJ Jazz bass. Brilliant neck and pick ups are first class. Its certainly as good as the 80's P bass or my J bass from that era. I've not tried the Squier CV basses but i'd be happy if it played and sounded good. I do like my expensive basses but i prefer gigging with something a bit cheaper. Dave
  17. I get this between my Jazz and active P/J but all i do is switch between passive and active on the amp and levels are pretty much evened out but that's probably just luck with those two basses.
  18. Wild Mountain short-haired Haggis or the very rare Flying Haggis. Both very tasty and both difficult to catch.
  19. Email this morning on the final day that book has been delayed until sometime between Feb13th and Mar 9th. Great service from Amazon.........mmmmm😠
  20. Are you sure you aint a Scot. Let us know how you get on. Some pics maybe. Dave
  21. 👍 See what you mean and i wasn't criticising your spelling at all. I knew what you meant and was just returning the shorter "cheers" or "health" version as a courtesy but i believe you are correct that slainte mhaith does mean Slange Var as most people pronounce it. I generally just say Slainte or "slange" tho. When you've had a few malts its easier
  22. Not sure what you mean ? Dave
  23. Slainte
  24. Ach ye make it sound so appetising. I might just tak a wee dram masel' tonight.........jist tae honour the man himsel ye ken. Dave
