  1. Good decision on the gigging thing. You need to enjoy kids at their early years. Wee stunner there sir. You can always get another band together no probs/ Out of curiosity whats the blue badge thing ? Dave
  2. I usually just press the SHARE button on Youtube and then COPY and then PASTE onto BC page. Dave
  3. I looped it over top horn of my Jazz bass as my issue was a strain rather than a more permanent injury and didn't fancy changing anything on my basses
  4. You can fit it few ways. Depending on your strap lok type both straps can fit a specific type (can't remember which one it is tho) 2nd way is to use a strap between the 2 strap bottons and attach the other strap to the cross strap hidden behind the bass. 3rd way is to do what Damien did and attach a 2nd strap lock reset into the bass body and when not in use the lok is flush with the bass. 4th way is to loop the other strap over the top horn Dave
  5. My NT4 is an 89 and its a heavy beast but nothing else sounds like it to me anyway. Those Mega straps look good tho. Might try one of those for all my basses to be honest. I had a similar but cheaper make few yrs back and the plastic buckles snapped and it put me off them but they look a lot sturdier. Think i bought the cheap one from the Bass Centre or something like that. Dave
  6. I had a shoulder and back problem for a bit couple of yrs ago and bought one of the Gruvgear Duo straps. Distributes the weight evenly across both shoulders. Worked a treat and once my shoulder and back were sorted i went back to using it as a standard strap and its the comfiest strap i've ever had. Would have to agree with Chris tho that if its that heavy maybe you should look for something lighter. My Thumb NT4 is too heavy for me to wear for a full gig but won't sell cause its gorgeous to play but i only use on recording gigs when needed. Dave
  7. I see what you did there Dad3353 They would be shoe strings then.
  8. Not sure about cleaning strings but always handy for the post gig fish supper
  9. That's an interesting one so i guess light touched players strings should last longer than the heavy hande player in theory. Curious to see if anyone can validate this one. Dave
  10. Yep i've been caught with the evilbay copy thing too. I now only buy from recognised shops or suppliers. I used to use Elite Stadiums stainless on my Warwick Thumb mainly because that's what originally came with them from Warwick and they were bright and zingy. As far as i know the Warwick strings were made to sound like the Elites. might even have been Elite that made them for Warwick ? who knows Dave
  11. Scout around for a decent price on DR's or D'Addarios. I found Bass Direct to be cheaper than Strings Direct or Stringbusters.
  12. Too many Reality, cooking or quiz shows on these days. Some decent live music shows would be great Wouldn't mind shows with some of the older band live clips like a re-run of even OGWT at its peak. Dave
  13. where is the court appearance. might be a bit far from me i think but i'd do that
  14. Oooh that's nice. Good to hear Level 42 without all that mad pop and slap Mark King does. That was just a nice balance and very melodic.
  15. Obviously not playing it live but what a fantastic tone he has and solo is excellent. Liking that wee bit o funk. Nice
  16. WHY from Uriah Heep. Bonus track on Demons & Wizards. Some debate about who actually played bass on this. It was recorded 71 before Gary Thain joined and therefore has to be either Paul Newton or Matt Clarke. I've heard Paul play the live version and it was nothing like this version so i'm gonna go with Matt Clarke ex Colloseum II which would be a similar style of bass playing.
  17. It was worth it. Its always nice to help others and i'm proud to have helped and be part of it. Dave
  18. You won't be disappointed with either book. Both were great reads and looking forward to the 3rd installment. No pressure Dave.
  19. used to be that recordings were slowed or sped up to fit a 4min radio slot but not sure that's still applicable these days. Many chart bands had that done back in the days before software and Apps could adjust it for you. Dave
  20. Done. Only just found the page so hopefully this helps a little. Makes me feel good to be part of something like this. Well done to all our fellow Basschatters that offered some support. Dave
  21. I think you should still go for it
  22. Metal to me meant Budgie and from there on it turned into Iron Maiden style and then morphed into Metallica altho that might be termed Thrash Metal but i've kinda lost touch with the more "modern" terminology for what would have just been Heavy Rock back in late 70's. Even very early Rush albums before 2112 i would class as Heavy Rock but that was before Heavy Metal appeared on the scene ? I would be interested in what the OP regards as Metal as he is a lot younger than me by many many years. Dave
  23. My original Warwick Thumb 89 came with 3 sets of Elite strings. I've tried the Warwick red labels on my Jazz bass but preferred the Fender nickels altho i've sinc went to D'addarios and then DR's and now back to D'addarios again. The Warwick strings just didn't last too long for me before the tone went and i found them a bit more coarse on the fingers than other strings i had been using so i'm not really a fan. Dave
  24. Michael Manring has to be up there at the top but Eric Czar playing Sonata i really enjoy. Just realised its Best Fretless album. Sorry but its a nice wee 2 min song.
  25. Appreciated and fully understand where you are coming from Blue Dave
