  1. Almost the exact same here. 15 / 16 when i started but never played regular gigs until i got into my 50's and now playing quite a lot between my two bands. Dave
  2. I'll just stick to being helpful to people i know on BC. Dave
  3. That's not good. great quality gear too. Hope its an easy fix. Our PA is all QSC, 12's, 15's and subs. Dave
  4. That explains it a bit for me as i always thought hockey pucks were very hard. Must be the softer ones they were talking about. Dave
  5. As much as i enjoy being on BC and i am on here a lot i find on some occasions when you try to be helpful and offer advice you get met with criticism and sarcasm when there's no call for it. Puts a bit of a damper on the enjoyment. i've seen a lot of that on TB. Shame really, puts me off trying to be helpful to others on here. Dave
  6. I use Mesa SW210 / 115 cabs and a stand wouldn't really work for me. Depending on the band / gig i can use it with or without PA support. I use the Gramma pad on wooden hollow stage where there's a chance of low frequency boom. If i use it for every gig i could probably keep exact same settings for every venue. It does work well but i'm never happy with the stack wobble. The cabs do have rubber feet but in some circumstances i was still getting stage boom. Dave
  7. I did but it makes it easier for the buyer if its all already in the post. I don't know what Barefaced have in production or what is new or old models. If its an older model it may not be on the website now. Don't see why its such a big deal to include some details of what is being sold rather than "cab for sale" Dave
  8. Sadly i have limited Freeview that doesn't include 11. That's what happens when you live in Scotland's countryside. Limited transmission and poor reception as well as broadband that comes and goes by post. Dave
  9. i had no idea this was still happening. Beggars belief really. We had a venue that didn't pay us when they said they would and after a few mths of excuses i was prepared to go to small claims court with them but our drummer has a lot more patience than me and asked me to wait and he'll chase them up. They finally paid after he pestered them for another month. They also have a reputation for not paying and i believe one band has even started a FB page on it. (it wasn't us) Dave
  10. Just a helpful suggestion. Maybe add a bit more detail if you can. i.e. dimensions, weight, watts. etc It would save people having to do a search to get all the specs. I'm not up to speed with Barefaced cabs but i hear great things about them. Seems like a good price for a Barefaced 2x12 cab to be fair. GLWTS Dave
  11. I decided to just get a Fender hi-mass bridge. I have one on my PJ bass and its been ok. Only £25 so not a major loss if its rubbish. Dave
  12. Cheers for that. I did read that hockey puks work as isolators but not tried them. Dave
  13. What's the orange mat you have the cab sitting on. ? Is it for stage isolation like the Gramma pads ? If so does it work ok and where did you get it. I have a gramma pad but my stacked cabs wobble a fair bit on it and was looking for other options. Dave
  14. I'll check that model out. Is it a direct replacement for the standard P one. ? Dave
  15. Are you just Dan Veall or Dan Bassist Veall on FB ? Dave
  16. OK i would never have got that. I'm thinking something more substantial like the fender hi-mass or i think Hipshot versions look good. Dave
  17. OK a dafty question here but what is BBOT ? I know its probably obvious once someone tells me but its just not coming to me at all and its mid afternoon so no early morning brain fade excuses Dave
  18. Handy to know as i'm looking to replace the bridge and tuners on my vintera P bass. E tuner is very grindy and tight when fully tuned. Others are OK. I was looking to put a drop D tuner on too. With regards the bridge i'm finding the saddles are dropping when i play for extended periods. I've put some loctite on the saddle screws at moment until i replace the bridge. Think i'll avoid Wilkinson by sounds of this thread. Dave
  19. Started this morning with the Bergantino B-amp review from Youtube shared to my FB page and i'll see how else i can get it out there Dan. Dave
  20. Will make a conscious effort to share your vids. I'm always looking at gear and i always enjoy your reviews so it should be easy enough to start things moving. Dave
  21. What's the best way to share Dan. I normally would share them on my FB page but open to any other options that can help. Dave
  22. Of course we care. BC is a family. I'm good to help any way i can. Dave
  23. Actually have a few weekends off from playing while singer on hols. Gives me time to catch up on my chores and other hobbies. Dave
  24. No its not so big in Scotland altho i have a few friends that never miss it. Dave
  25. I'm considering fitting one to my P bass as i only use the drop D for Into the Valley by The Skids. The tuning peg on the E string is very tight too and even tho i've stripped it and greased any moving parts its still the same when tuned up. The other pegs are fine so don't know what's going on with it. Dave
