That's turned into one very nice looking bass. Nice job Dave

I like when that happens. There's something exciting about it just working from the word go. Good luck with this project. Dave

WOW your singer can float. All the best for Battle of the Bands contest and keep us posted how you get on. Aberdeen a wee bit far for me. Dave

We were lucky that way that we all seemed to catch covid over the same 2 week period and luckily we had no gigs on. Hope you all feel better soon. Dave

Great night with the 70's Glam Rock covers band BLOCKBUSTARZ in Camelon Social Club near Falkirk. Sold out tickets but they were still taking pay at the door. They were actually taking tables and chairs from other rooms to get more people in. Reckon about 150 folks in. Stage was tiny with only enough space for drumkit and an amp each side. I had nowhere to move about tho. Both singers stood on the dance floor. Dancing most songs from the word go after people got over the shock and awe of the band costumes. Had some issues with noise levels because one of the other committee members decided it was a good idea to book another private function in the lounge next door. After some heated debate between committee members it was agreed by most that people were actually paying £12 a ticket to see the band. Highlight of the night was when we had the lead singer from Hot Chocolate Kennie Simon sing You Sexy Thing with us in the 2nd set. Dance floor was absolutely choc a block for that one with women wanting their pic taken with him while he was singing. Our guitarist knows him and it turns out our drummer lived in same street as him and members of Sweet back in the day He gave us some great comments that the band was excellent and very tight. Great musicians. I was fair chuffed with that. All in all a good night and well paid too. Got paid at half time break and they wanted us back in November too and all arranged at the break between sets.

Nice bass there. Dave

Wouldn't think a Warwick Gnome and 1x10 cab would work too well in a live band. Nice Dingwall, very sparkly. That would look good in my Glam covers band Dave

Band are excellent but the highlight for me other than Pete himself was watching the 2 girl cello players singing along and then producing some great syncopated dance moves with their cellos. Both of them just looked like they were having a great night out. That kind of relaxed playing and enjoyment just rubs off on the audience who will naturally respond with appreciation. Great band. Another tribute to watch out for is Ultimate Bowie. Another fantastic show. ELO Experience, Ultimate Bowie and MacFloyd are probably my top three tribute bands. Dave
-
For tribute bands like yours and at your level of competence you will always pull a decent crowd. There are a few tribute bands i know off that for me sound exactly like the originals with you guys being one of them. I was never a big ELO fan but after seeing you guys i found myself listening to them a lot more. All the best Dave

Never tried the Barefaced cabs but they do seem to be well liked on BC. I have the Mesa Subway 210 and 115 cabs and the WB-100 sounds amazing thru them. I've used as a full rig or with the 115 cab on its own and it impresses with either. Dave

That's a great idea to use one for home practice. Might use the smooth hound for that. I have rechargeable batteries so that would work well at home. Dave

Not sure why i haven't seen this thread before. Amazing songs on here. Always enjoyed this kind of music but i've never really understood where the boundaries were, if any. I have a few albums that i've always thought verged on soul, funk or groove but was afraid to ask. Some like Incognito have already been posted. Liking this thread so far but at 47 pages its gonna take me a while to go thru them all Dave

Its like falling of a kerb in your sleep. You do panic a bit. Trying to find the buttons on my pedals is even funnier Dave

The main reason i use wireless in the Glam band is the outfits and the platform boots. Its very easy to trip over cables when wearing platform boots. Removes that worry. I dont normally use it with the punk covers band unless its a larger stage where i can move about on but its usually pub gigs with the punk band. Dave

I'm forever hearing comments that its all in the fingers so you might be onto something there. I sound the same thru any amp i use to be honest. Its just that some amps make me feel better on stage. Dave
-
Great stuff altho i have to admit i generally stand in front of my amp and never see the valves glowing. Sounds like you are another happy WB-100 bunny. Dave

Its only the new + version that has an additional socket next to the power in socket. Think this version has only just been released recently. Mine has 2 jack sockets and mains socket at the end. Dave

Had a play at home with the new Shure GLXD16+ and its a fantastic bit of kit. No change in tone going from wireless to cable which is something i hadn't really noticed with my previous wireless but with this its actually noticeable in comparison with old wireless. Built like a brick s**t house both transmitter and receiver. Pretty easy to follow once i got the basic knowledge of the buttons but it really sets itself up straight from the box once you link the Tx to the Rx. Tuner is pretty good too and will be easy to read on a dull stage area. This is the pedalboard wireless receiver version. Few criticisms being the transmitter belt / strap clip. Its not great and leaves the Tx wobbling about on my strap so i've used the holder from the old system and its a perfect fit and the cable to your bass has a straight jack plug where an angled one would suit me better but its not a big deal.. Not the cheapest wireless on the market but i'm very impressed with the quality and operation at home so far. 11-12 hrs battery use on Tx. Will take to rehearsals this weekend and then a gig week after. Something that is a nice touch on this version is that if the transmitter goes down for any reason you can just plug a lead into the receiver unit and it acts like any other pedal (tuner) rather than re-arranging pedalboards on the hoof at a gig. Dave

At least he's ok and that's the main thing for me. Hopefully he'll return home to BC and share his knowledge and experience again. I do wonder what drives someone to stop all social media but it affects us all in different ways. Dave

Glad you answered that as i wasn't sure. Dave

Dont know about the TT800 volume but i get equivalent volumes to my Mpulse600. That's with both amps set up almost exactly same. Gain 1 o'clock Bass - flat Mid - 1 on Mesa and 2 on HB Treble - flat Master - typically between 10-11 o'clock on either amp. I dont generally use para EQ on the Mesa or the crunch and bright buttons are off on HB. I've used it in 150 sized venues without PA support altho i'm using 2 cabs bringing it to 4 ohms. I have used one 8ohm cab in a smaller venue with punk covers band and it sounded much same volume to be honest but that's not a like for like so probably irrelevant. I did a trial at WoT's house between his R400 and my WB-100 and there wasn't much difference in tone. Maybe very slightly fuller or bit more depth in the WB-100 but honestly not a lot in it and if i was using just the R400 i probably would never have noticed the difference. We weren't there specifically to do a A/B test but we were curious LOL Not sure i'd sell my R400 for the WB-100 TBH. IMO they are close sounding amps The R400 being lighter and having no power valves to worry about in the future. @wateroftyne should be a lot more help with this as he has both and has gigged both. He also has far more experience than i have. Not sure if that helps you. ? Dave

Keep at it. After a while she'll get so bored, fed up and worn down that she'll give in to your demands. So i've been told Dave
