I get that a lot with in house sound guys. Annoys the heck out of me. Dave

Depends on what bass i use but generally speaking i lean towards a more mid focused EQ for all basses. I dont like a booming bass tone. Also have same issue when standing in front of my cabs that the tone isnt what i like to hear but when i move out front the depth is there. Dave

Fender - improve quality control Mesa - start selling outside US Strings - make everlasting rounds Handbox - find a UK distributor to let people try them. General observation - we need more gear in shops across the UK to let us try it out.

Not good at all and enough to put me off buying from them now. Dave -
Nice wee gig in The Cave in Paisley last night with Emergency Exit punk band. Turned out to be a good size audience. Lots of singing and dancing and a few fall-overs onto the stage area. No harm done but i had to stop playing to stop someone falling into me and the guitarist lost his signal when someone fell right over his monitor and pedals. Like any good band we carried on while he sorted out the problem. Complete Control by the Clash too which is one of my fav songs to play. I always worry when people start dancing while holding a full pint glass. Beer and mains dont go very well together. All in all a great night. Dave

200 gigs...............nice one. We are starting to get offers coming in now. We were just getting up and running when covid hit and killed our first year into gigs with the Glam band. Had to start all over again but we did change our guitarist and that's made a huge difference to the atmosphere in the band. We started on the Xmas songs on Fri at a last minute rehearsal. They are fun songs to play tho. Doing the Wizzard Xmas song this year so that's a nice one to do. Dave

After recent delivery issues at customs and taking 4 weeks to arrive i've decided not to buy outwith UK. Not so much the manufacturer or shop's fault but the delays and difficulties involved in returning have put me right off. Dave -

Not good at all. I bought a Hartke Kilo from them when they first came out. It was faulty. I contacted them and the courier picked it up from the house free of charge. Only downside was i had paid with my debit card and was hit for exchange rates both when i bought it and on the refund. It cost me £35 in charges from my bank. Was about 10 yrs ago if i remember right. Sounds like the bass is 2nd hand and if not its a disgrace for any manufacturer to allow that out of the factory. I'm a big fan of Andertons but Bass Direct is where i've bought more gear from than anywhere else. Also used GAK and Guitar Guitar. Dave -
Good news from our Sat gig that the lady has recovered and now doing well. Dave

Well that was an unpleasant experience for any gig. Playing with the Glam Rock band tonight at a St Andrews caravan park end of season gig. Friend of the band has a caravan there and asked if we would do it. Was a 2hr drive which was a nice run in the afternoon but i was pretty tired on the drive home. Lots of people bopping around on seats and lots of clapping and cheering after every song from the word go but no dancers. 2nd set managed to get to 4th or 5th song and was asked to stop as a woman had taken severely unwell. Lucky enough our singer is a nurse of 35 yrs and jumped straight into nursing head. Turns out the woman had taken a heart attack. She had a known condition but forgot to take her meds today. Our singer said the woman was responding and hopefully will recover ok. Ambulance was called and arrived within approx 10 minutes which was pretty impressive and they took over and moved her into the ambulance. By the time this had all happened we only had 35 mins left before closing time. Manager suggested we just leave it as the atmosphere had taken a turn for the worse and it wouldn't be right to carry on. We were agreed. We still got paid in full and were asked if we could do a return visit next year when the season opens up again. Dave

Have to say that is very nice. Your English is pretty good so dont be put of posting on here. Its always good to get everyone's thoughts and opinions. Dave

Yep that's where i got my VM4 and its glorious. Dave

I agree. I love my Sandbergs but i'd like the Sandberg quality with a vintage Fender tone. Could always just change the pick ups. Dave

You've got it made now Daryl, picked up by limo and no gear to lug around. Life doesn't get much better than that. Plus you get the best gigs 😀 Doing good over here. Gigs are picking up now and have a gig almost every weekend till Xmas. Not sure what gigs we have in 2023. I know we have a Xmas gig booked for next Xmas in 2023 with the Glam covers band. Punk band plays quite regularly maybe 1-2 gigs a month. Busiest i've ever been in a band. Got to learn a few Xmas songs for the Glam band tho but that'll be easy enough 👍 Dave

I'm in Biggar Scotland. I did check the distance but its too far away even if i was a definite on it. It just wouldn't make sense travelling that far. It would cost me a fortune in fuel. Its approx 300 miles each way that would cost me around £150-£180 in fuel. Just bought a new Handbox WB-100 and i would need to justify another amp to my wife even at this ridiculously low price. Used my WB-100 on Sat night with punk covers band. Vocal PA only and volume balanced against the drums i'm finding Gain at crunch point which is approx 1-2 o'clock and master at 11 o'clock. EQ mostly flat with treble brought back too 11 o'clock-ish. I have found that master volume doesn't seem to do a lot once you get above 12-1 o'clock-ish altho our drummer said he could hear quite an increase when i tried it at a rehearsal just after i received it. The tone is really really nice tho with a nice warm depth and clarity of notes. There's no muddiness that i've experienced with some other all valve amps. Will see how it gets on this weekend at a larger club venue with Glam covers band again just a vocal PA but a decent sized club venue. I'm using it thru Mesa SW210/115 rig and a MarloweDK with punk band and VM4 with Glam band. Dave

Was just about o ask what you thought of the WB-100 from your weekend gig. Even with the ancient flats it sounds great. Def like that cab of yours too. Will be keeping an eye out for one of them. Might be easier than my 2 Mesa cabs. Look forward to hearing it with rounds on. Dave

Some venues will isolate the smoke detectors if asked. Dave
