1. Out of all musicians, i envy the.... talented ones! Liam
2.
Jessie J. I could play with her all day long Don't tell the wife
Her bassist is actually on here, he posted some stuff from Glastonbury last year. I'd be happy with any one of: Katy Perry, P!nk, Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepson, Professor Green or Example. Liam Edit: Oh, and VersaEmerge: too! Can't forget them.
3. Nothing wrong with an LD150 if it's set up right, i've been gigging one for years, except that it's usually too quiet. You'll find plenty in the way of cabs, knowledge, and general obscurity on here, and many things to empty your bank account. Liam
4.
which specific barefaced cab
Drop them an email. Alex'll advise you on the best cab for what you want. Liam
5.
What does the G50 do that the G30 doesn't do? I'm genuinely interested as I only want to buy once.
Metal housing instead of plastic, 200ft range instead of 100ft (Though both of these are underestimated), and 12 channels instead of the 6 that G30 has, and the G50 reciever has a more reliable connector. Liam Edit: i meant Transmitter not Reciever.
6.
Tested - as in playing on real life gigs... where you can comment on the reliability of connections and the impact that wifi systems (like found in hotels) can have on these type of systems? You know about battery life, the ease of replacing components? I'm not intending to single you out but recommendations on here when people haven't used them in anger in the field don't hold much water...
The other guys i've been talking to regarding the Line 6 stuff have been on tour with them for the past year and a half without any issues. The other stuff has either been other bands i know who've had them and used them constantly (Sometimes 35 gigs a month) or has been stuff i've borrowed from friends or other bands and tested at gigs myself. Liam
7.
How do you know? Have you tried them all? Or are you just saying this because you have Line6?
I don't have any as i can't afford one at the moment, but between me and a lot of other guys i know we've tested most of the name ones around that price range, and think the Line 6 is the best all round. As soon as i can afford one, there's a G50 going on my pedalboard. Liam
8. Another vote for Line 6 here. They just beat all competition in their price range (Except possibly Stageclix but that's out of budget) Liam
9. Some good players in that article, though there's a few i'd add myself. Nick Latham (Who's on here and won the MarloweDK Bass from Sandberg), David Sin as already mentioned, and Greg Bagley, who hasn't done anything for ages but is a brilliant player. Liam
10. Flat on the Terror bass isn't noon, as it's a passive EQ section same as the AD200B. I can't remember the exact settings for it though, but i'm sure someone else will appear momentarily who can remember. Liam
11. I name mine, though not always female. I never take time to think of a name though, either a friend does it, or it's the first one that comes into my head when i play it. Every instrument and amp used in my band has been named actually, even the drums. Liam
12. Monster by The Automatic is another one of these. There's a bit of scope for some funky octavey work in the chorus, and there the 'face down home town' bit which is always fun, but most of the song is straight quarter notes, though i do miss out one or two in places because it works better. Liam
13. I like it when stuff shouldn't sound good and does, but you missed out a huge pun in that you should've said Wise Old Drumbledore Liam
14. Shep are you still using George L's for cables or have you gone for the new(ish) Diago ones that i seem to remember you looking at? If so, how're you finding them? Liam
15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkqcQO_xIGA Rory O'Grady from Boomin. That's probably not the best example of them, but it's the one that shows off his bass part to that song best (Which is insanely fun to play) Liam
16. Atleast they can actually sing, so we're getting somewhere. I reckon Boomin probably did 34 gigs in the first 2-3 months of 2012, and i know for a fact they did 34 in August 2011 alone. Liam
17. I'll go for my usual suggestion of Marshall Jackhammer (JH-1). Versatile and cheap as chips drive. Mine was 20 quid delivered on ebay. Liam
18. BBC Introducing can get you very far, just look at Gabrielle Aplin as an example. Congrats on the brilliant exposure. Liam
19.
Have you tried these? I have them on my basses and much prefer them to the Schaller / Dunlop ones, especially the plastic rotating disc kind that either snap or come undone. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item35bfa35c8e
Got a set of these on my 5 string and i don't trust them at all. They just feel like they're gonna come undone unless i check them every 20 seconds (And normally do come undone). Much prefer the Dunlops on my Precision. As for the Ernie Ball Ergo ones, i had a few sets of some cheaper copies of these and except the occasionaly coming undone, i didn't have too many problems with them at all. Liam
20. From my internet browsings, the Alesis IO dock seems the best, though a lot of the cheaper ones seem to work fine. Not sure on apps as i'm an Android guy and haven't managed to get my hands on an iPad yet to have a proper go at this. Liam
21. Have a look around on the for sale forums on here. You can easily get a good amp for £300. Liam
22. My band's stuff (Some of them have some technical sections too so i can show off with them if i want) as well as some of the stuff i like to play, whatever comes into my head at that moment in time. I've played the Braveheart and Ghostbusters theme tunes often too, no idea why. The best experience i actually had was trying a guitar with a friend. There was another guy on the opposite side of a pillar testing a PRS and i decided to join in with the song he was playing (Trivium's Dying In Your Arms). Sat there for 4 minutes and played through the entire song with a guy i couldn't even see. Liam
23.
These two options don't cost far from the same, so I'll probably go with the Harley. Only question I have - the pic on Thomann has a 2-pronged US style plug. I assume there's a transformer or something in the power cable where I can plug a UK plug in there...?
It's an EU plug. I haven't really pulled the cable apart to check, although i was intending to. I just use an EU/UK adapter at the moment as it's a bit quicker and easier. Liam
24.
Or, in English: http://www.thomann.d..._powerplant.htm are they isolated though?
Only on the junior, which doesn't do 12v. Liam
25. Since joining BC, i've learnt a hell of a lot more about my gear and how to handle my playing both on and off stage, as well as starting to properly play guitar, which has opened my eyes and expanded my musical abilities quite a lot. I've also gotten into effects and various other things on here, including photography, which all decrease my bank balance on a regular occasion. The last really useful thing, is i now try to my own setups after someone posted a setup guide on here that i now use. Liam
