Welcome to BC, the land of dreams, virtual pubs, and large cash transfers. I'm quite local, being in the 'lovely' hole known as Westhoughton. Liam
Hmmm maybe a pre-amp could work instead... ENGL e530 straight to desk? Any thoughts? Sounds pretty epic from what I've heard but would PA speakers do it justice without a cab in the loop?
Throw a cab simulator in before it hits the PA and you're sorted. Liam
Here's my entry for now. http://soundcloud.co...underthesurface I think I MAY have been playing too much Skyrim recently
That genuinely sent shivers down my spine.... Listening to all what have been posted so far, it's incredibly surprising how differently people can view the same photo. I'd love to do something for this myself, but i don't have the equipment nor the composition skills that you guys have. I'll definately be keeping up to date with this thread though. Liam

Guitarchat, Drumchat and Synthchat have all been registered if i remember correctly. Liam

I agree with exactly what was said above. A BDI is an essential in my gig bag as it's a brilliant tone shaping tool for when you have to go direct. Liam

Nice-ish pair of jeans, walking boots (Nice black leather ones), and a black polo tee. Works well with my bright red bass. Like this, but i wear nicer jeans now and don't wear those completely dead Airwalk trainers. Liam

Anybody want to make me a wiring kit?
LiamPodmore replied to Low End Bee's topic in Repairs and Technical
Ki0gon is your man for wiring harnesses, got one of his solderless ones a few weeks ago and it's fantastic quality. Liam -
Another who's used an Ibanez GSR200 here, as well as my Precision. I've actually taken my Ibanez down to BEAD when my 5 string was f*cked, without any issues whatsoever. Liam

What are you listening to right now?

Gianni Luminati/Walk Off The Earth. Not much more has to be said than this: Liam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WQUZEoTV-A&feature=g-vrec -
Cubase LE7 is limited to 16 tracks? Wow. I got LE5 with my Lexicon Alpha and that's limited to 48. I don't even have it installed curently (It vanished?) but i've been using Reaper for about 2 years now and i love it. Liam

Bought a J bass wiring loom of John last week. Arrived in very good time and is a top quality piece of kit made by an equally top quality bloke. I'll definately be ordering more in the future. Liam
You could always put some foam or rubber around the edges if you wanted
I know drummers are supposed to lack intelligence but isn't that a little too far? Actually, thinking about it, it's a drummer, make that foam 2" thick i think. I do see the appeal for these, but as we never mic the drums i think it'd be pretty impractical for us. Our drummer's good with volume anyway, but i'm sure he wouldn't mind being able to go all out without killing anyones ears. Liam -
I think for the warm valvey tone, the BDI is brilliant, but i personall feel it lacks a lot when it comes to getting a bit of drive into the tone. Coupled with a Marshall Jackhammer (As i think Chrismuzz does with his Jackhammer and BDDI) it can give you exactly what you want IMO. Though i am planning on getting myself a VT Bass, as i personally think it's one of the best OD's on the market. Liam

Another fan here, some serious talent there. Liam

Tonight's second set cancelled - nobody in the pub
LiamPodmore replied to The Dark Lord's topic in General Discussion
We had our second set cancelled when Police turned up, but we've never cancelled one ourselves. I do know exactly what you're feeling in terms of VERY low crowd numbers though, it's getting more and more common and it's not what any of us gigging musicians want to see. Liam -
Lightweight amps - clarity in power ratings
I think I saw a review of the orange terror that had it putting out a little over the stated watts, I'll see if I can find it again...
503 at 8 ohm and about 525 at 4 ohm, if i remember correctly. Though knowing me i'll be pretty far away with that. Liam -
Sad to hear that people would do something like this, just to be tied down into some corporate and probably highly manipulative contract. I'd like to think my band wouldn't do this to me, because i'm not a tiny guy myself, but i'm easily the most active guy onstage and don't look that out of place (Though i doubt you did either). Bassline's wont be too hard if they ever did replace me though, 90% of my gig is root notes and LOTS of jumping. Liam

Anyone go to this? I've just got back from it myself and i can actually say i was quite impressed with a lot of the acts, even Rick Astley was good. I must say though, i was quite dissapointed at the fact that musically, only Lawson was completely live. The rest played to backing tracks as normal, and then Scouting For Girls and The Noisettes both mimed all the instrumental stuff, which is dissapointing if you ask me. All in all, not a bad night for free though. Liam

First gig you went to - who was in the band?
LiamPodmore replied to paulconnolly's topic in General Discussion
30 Seconds To Mars (With Tim Kelleher manning the bass), and the support acts were Enter Shikari, who were amazing, and The Funeral Party, who were frankly, sh*t. Liam -
I was after a multi years ago, but i realise now, in my case, it would be useless. Nowadays i only use a tuner and OD, and occasionally my preamp if i'm going straight DI. I can see the appeal of Multi's, especially the higher end ones like Eleven Rack, POD HD, M13, etc... but for me it would be a big waste. Liam

What are you listening to right now?
LiamPodmore replied to Sarah5string's topic in General Discussion
I just CANNOT stop listening to this, i've never heard Jess' voice sound that good, not to mention that she sings in spanish as well. Liam -
I might find my way down to PMT for a look around. If only it was a week later, i'd have some cash then. Liam
The original meaning is to kill one in ten (hence the "deci" part) which in my book isn't a large percentage at all.
Although if 3 songs were banned from the 30 song set, that is infact one in ten. This could go on for hours. Back on topic, my band have never played any of the songs that have been mentioned in this thread. The closest we've got is playing Use Somebody by KOL, and me suggesting Teenage Kicks, which like all of my song suggestions, never happened. Liam

I'd love an Epi Jack Cassady myself, or one of the Warwick hollowbodies. I love hollowbody guitars (Particularly the Taylor T5) so i want to give a proper hollowbody bass a good test out too. Liam
