1. I have been called in the past (Whilst on stage, by a band member or a fan): Pod, Count Podula, Lord Podlington, Bass-Monkey, and a few more that i can't remember. The only one of them that's actually stick was Pod, as it's just a shortened version of my surname. Liam
2. Sometimes stage names shouldn't be used though. Like Pat Smear from the Foo Fighters, his real name is Georg Ruthenberg, which if you ask me, sounds MUCH better than Pat Smear... Liam
3. My friend Jess has recently posted a new cover on her soundcloud (Of Demi Lovato's 'Skyscraper') and it's brilliant. Little issues with the recording, but her voice is getting better and better with every note she sings. Anyway, i just thought i'd share her with the good people of BC once again. Skyscraper-Demi Lovato (Jessica Lauren Smith Cover) And as a little extra burst of awesomeness, the second verse and chorus are sung in spanish which just sounds too good IMO. Liam
4. How about a MAG 2x10 combo, and if you get in another band you can get a 2x10 extension cab? Liam
5. I think i'm going to have to get one of those myself. A good find there! Liam
6. I whole heartedly have to agree with that Conan. BC is like one of those towns where everyone knows everyone and they're all down the pub (The BC Arms) having a good laugh. Not to mention the HUGE amounts of knowledge available on all manner of subjects, not just bass related things. Liam
7. Just ordered all the stuff i need to put my Ibanez back together. Gonna throw a set of Picato's i have lying around on it, though i want to try Chromes on my P-Bass and i might give Ernie Ball Group III a look as well some time soon.
8. Runaway Baby is such a fun song. It's the first thing i play every time i pick up my bass, just such a good groove, and IMO Bruno Mars has some serious talent, some of his stuff on youtube is brilliant. His backing vocalist is easily good enough to go solo too. Liam
9. Just do what Dave from Linkin Park did and only break half your bass, so you can still use it. Liam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPgwY11jzK8
10. A local band to me (Boomin) played Yesterday and said it was one of the best sets they've done in a while. I'm going to guess that due to the cancellations of outdoor stuff, everyone made their way to the indoor gigs and packed all of them out. Liam
11. Another one not mentioned is Aerosmith, they do some damn good ballads. How about taking something that wouldn't normally be anything like that, and putting your own spin on it to make it softer. For instance, i think something like Walk by Foo Fighters would be brilliant as a stripped down, less intense version. Liam
12.
Yeah, I have V2 so I can try both ways and can tell I have no use for the speaker sim when going through my rig. If they did a VT Bass version that was equivalent to the programmable bass driver DI (input for a bass only and no fx loop) + speaker sim defeat like the VT Bass V2 it would be just what the doctor ordered!
I do remember seeing something about a programmable VT Bass somewhere, but that obviously never came to be. Liam
13. I'm guessing the V2 edition only applies to the standard VT bass then? As i know the V2 has the speaker sim defeat, not sure about on the deluxe though. Liam
14. As mentioned above, either StageClix or Line 6. Those are the best 2 options currently on the market, going of the general concensus of this forum. Liam
15. Bolton's only real claims to musical fame (That i know of) are Danny from McFly was born and raised here, and Marseille (Which is Neil Buchanan of Art Attack fame's band). I can't think of any other than that. Oh, and The Blackout filmed their video to Higher and Higher here. Liam
16. One guy i never see mentioned is Kasim Sulton. Love some of the stuff he's done, especially with The Neverland Express (Meatloaf's backing band). Liam
17. The board i used at our last gig on Saturday night. I didn't have the BDI out then, as i didn't need it, when i took this photo it was literally just being used as a DI, so it was Bass - TU-2 - Jackhammer - Amp. I barely even used the Jackhammer, which means i'm going to go ahead with my mini-board idea as soon as i can afford it, but until then, the tuner and drive are all i need. Liam
18. Not sure myself, the only 1x12 i've really used is the Line LD150 combo, which isn't exactly a good indicator. The only thing is with the VS models, you may have to watch the volume/low end a bit as it's a really low power handling. They're designed for the LB30 so have a very low handling, as it's only 30w. Liam
19. In that case, how about a pair of VS112's? Liam
20. I would get 2 Mi12's myself, just because there's not that many gigs that can't be done with 2x12's and that way they're both matching cabs. Liam
21. I recommend this to anyone wanting a stupidly high gain guitar tone, it sounds absolutely f*cking brilliant. My bands vocalist uses one in his guitar rig and it's just outstanding. Have you tried it on bass Dood? I know the MT-2 makes a brilliant fuzz so i can see this being the same. I'd take it myself but i'm skint, so best of luck with the sale. Liam
22. I have this problem with mine too. Just as a little extra thing to note, the Squier is 19mm spacing, so you may find that standard Jazz V pickups might not sit right under the strings. Liam
23. Definately a fuzz i would think, sounds like there's an octaver on in some places to me as well, but i'm not sure if it's on all the way through. Liam
24. I second that. I'm hoping to get a Stingray 5, with maple board, heading my way within the next 12 months, then i'll be sorted. Liam
