1. As have i, you now have 1 more subscriber than me! Liam
2. I use an audio interface (Lexicon Alpha) to record my bass over a song using Cubase or Reaper, and record video at the same time using my phone. Then i throw the video onto the PC, edit it so the audio is the track that i've made with Cubase, and voila, a bass cover, sounding like this Liam Edit: Please excuse the huge c*ck up in the second pre chorus. 3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rzk_K2yXeWo&feature=related Van Canto = Gods. Nothing more needs to be said. Liam
4.
In Generations, we try to change it a little bit every time we re-visit the same venue to keep things interesting. This is the setlist for our upcoming gig in Oldham: • Natural Born Killer - Avenged Sevenfold • Toxicity - System Of A Down • Metalingus - Alter Bridge • End Of Heartache - Killswitch Engage • Symphony Of Destruction - Megadeth • Mouth For War/Cowboys From Hell - Pantera • Battery - Metallica • Duality - Slipknot • My Own Summer - Deftones • Bodies - Drowning Pool • In Waves - Trivium • Imperium - Machine Head • Before I Forget - Slipknot • 30/30-150 - Stone Sour • Davidian - Machine Head • My Last Serenade - Killswitch Engage • My Curse - Killswitch Engage • Set To Fail - Lamb Of God • Redneck - Lamb Of God • Master Of Puppets - Metallica • Raining Blood - Slayer • Walk - Pantera • Killing In The Name _Rage Against The Machine
Out of that whole set, there isn't a single song i don't like, so that sounds like one damn good (and sweaty) night to me. Liam
5. 1 mile round trip for me, i just hop on the bus or if i'm feel energetic, walk, so it costs me f*ck all (I get monthly bus passes for work so the bus is no extra). Liam
6. In that case, most that i see (I'm nerdy like this) use the Sennheiser systems, or some use high end Shure, and a really select few use Line 6. Liam
7.
What do the pros (when money is no object) use?
Most that i've seen have it on the strap, with varying amounts of duct tape or a wireless pouch. Liam
8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuunY8BTqNs That's another one i love. Taking something made by a bloke with his PC, and turning it into something that can be done by a band. Not to mention the good use of a Hot Hand by the bassist. Liam
9. When i borrow my mates wireless rig, it's always on the strap. Having it on my jeans/in a pocket etc.. really limits my movement, which is the main reason i borrow it, so i can run around and go ape sh*t crazy. Liam
10. Geniunely think that this is one of the best covers on the web, that chorus really hits with a bang when you first hear it. Despite it being july and that being a Christmas song, i think that's phenomenal. I just love the uke and harmonised whistling, that and the fact that their voices fit together so well. Some of you may recognise them from that rather popular Gotye cover with 5 people playing one guitar. I also think Walk Off The Earth do the best and some of the mose creative covers i've seen in a while, those 5 (6 if you count their producer) people have an unreal amount of talent between them. Liam
11. Strangely, my active Jazz is substantially quiter than my P (with an active pickup), despite having the same strings (Ernie Ball Slinkies), not that it makes much difference because i never play my Jazz anyway. Liam
12.
I've just taken delivery of one today! I can see it being very useful blended with a clean tone.
Even when not blended with clean, it can get really nasty and sounds pretty damn good when you run it into a wah and Envelope. Liam
13. Thinking of all the trios that i listen to, most seem to use Jazzes actually, because they seem to work better with effects i'd say. I play a P (With effects, totally contradicting myself, i know) just because it works so well for rock and i love the neck. Liam
14. One of my favourites like this is the Boss MT-2, it makes an absolutely LOVELY Fuzz. Liam
15. Gotta be a Maple Fretboard Telecaster or a Les Paul for me, though i lean more toward the Telecasters. There's something about bassists and Teles that i can't understand. Liam
16. Go online and have a look at CPC. I don't think there's ever been anything that i couldn't find on there. Liam
17. I've recently became more concious about my weight and i've decided that i'm going to start excercising a lot more, weekly squash and swimming sessions with one of my friends, and i'm planning on getting a gym membership too. I know i'll feel better once i do, and it'l help me with my gigging. Liam
18. Ampeg's 32x10 beast, actually works too, as does the giant SVT on top. Liam
19. I'll take the P pickup and Bridge when i get paid this week. Liam
20. I really can't afford a set of custom plugs yet, and stock ones don't seem to fit my ears right at all anymore, so i'm using strangely, my bog standard earphones. Judging from what my old plugs gave me in terms of isolation (Before they just stopped fitting my ears that is) these are giving me about 15db, which is just right. It's not the best of solutions, but it works, and it's not cost me any extra, so it'll do for now. It's quite funny when people see the cables and think i have IEM too. Liam
21.
another vote for the acs t1's they're great and incredibly clear right down to a low b however if your on a little bit of a budget you cant go wrong with something like this http://www.amazon.co...hure+headphones they're triple driver like the acs in ears but about a 3rd of the price
The SE315's are only single driver. Shure's naming system is quite strange. The middle number relates to the drivers. The SE215/315 are Single, SE425 are Dual and the SE535 are Triple. Liam Liam
22. Something that's at least triple driver. Most people say single and dual don't provide enough clarity in the low end for bassists use. Liam
23. Many people use Voodoo Labs stuff as it fits well on to a Pedaltrain board, though some (Particularly Shep) rate the GigRig system highly as well, it's expensive but does look to be the best on the market. The T-Rex stuff, except the Fuel Tank Junior, isn't Isolated as far as i know so is effectively just a much higher power Daisy Chain. Liam
24.
I have a tragic soft spot for Taylor Swift. I'll get my coat...
She's quite talented i think. I'll just walked out as i pre-empted and have already got my coat, oh wait, it's not mine... Liam
