Them boards look pretty cool. Any ideas on how to make them travel proof for in the van??
My guess would be the largest foam-filled flightcase from Maplin, should fit the board in, and it's got foam to protect it too. It's about £30 for a set of 3 IIRC. Liam
Should be a sweet little setup! I always prefer the BDDI/BDI21 before any other drive pedals for some reason, Seems to give you a more definable attack. Try that too if you havent yet!
I'll give that a try tomorrow, hopefully my Jackhammer turns up pretty soon too. Liam

Just won myself a Marshall Jackhammer for £21 on Ebay. Going to pair it with my Behriger and Boss MT-2 for some evil sounds. Liam
Can you put up an audio sample of that sound? I've always wanted to hear a good use of an MT-2 on bass..
I'll see what i can do for you mate. Liam

My board idea so far: The MT-2 isn't mine, it's just here before it gets whisked off to it's owner (Though i do have one, that's somehow totally dead, and i'm watching one on Ebay). Going to get a board over the weekend and i've got my eye on a Marshall Jackhammer on Ebay as well. Running the MT-2 into the BDI-21 gives me nice, heavily distorted Hysteria (The Muse song) style tone that sounds absolutely beautiful but it's nasty (In a good way). Liam

Just bought Ryan's TU-2 and he was a pleasure to deal with. Good communication throughout and a very speedy delivery. Someone i'd definately recommend buying from. Liam

My frontman didn't even notice when i fell over on stage (Although i didn't miss a note, so that might be why) so i doubt he'd notice what bass i was using. They've only ever commented on my choice once, which was when i chose my Ibanez over my Squier to play for 3 minutes at a certain "Competition".... Liam

What are you listening to right now?
A Dragonforce song less than seven minutes long?! Impossible!
Not as impossible as a good Dragonforce single. Their lesser known stuff was amazing, the singles not so much. For the latest album they've managed to get the whole album as good as their less known stuff, so it's damn good. Liam Ps. The kind of unkown stuff i'm talking about, barely even sounds like the same band: -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cU4GXgaCFTI That's strange, because i've never really liked their singles, but they've improved massively with their new vocalist Marc, a much better and more mature sound. Liam -
ive just GIVEN away a colorsound tonebender if youd told me about that Tigger costume i might have offered a swap
That's quite gutting, and £12 from your local Primark, i've not worn it on stage yet, but i am going to soon.
I know it's all too common for people to recommend something they're using themselves... But try and get hold of a Marshall Jackhammer! It sounds great on bass with low or high gain settings, has a 2 band EQ and an adjustable mid scoopy contour thing going on. Would pair well with your BDI21
Just listened to a few youtube videos of this on bass and i quite like the sound of it at low gain, something very close to what i'm after actually.
A modded Digitech Bad Monkey sounds right up your street. Even unmodded they're meant to be fairly nice on Bass.
Again, just had a listen to a few youtube videos and this doesn't sound too bad, although it seems a bit too much like the higher gain settings on my Behringer for my tastes, but thanks for the quick reply. Might pick one up and have a play with it anyway. Liam

HI all, Looking to get a drive pedal for the board i'm building at the moment, but not looking to spend so much. I'm eventually planning on getting a VT Deluxe, so if there's anything like that what goes for less than £50 (New or used) i'd be quite happy with that. I know there's the usual offerings from Boss etc.. but i'm not that much of a fan of the ODB-3 sounds. For now i'm thinking more of a light gain just to add a bit more to my Behringer so i don't have to keep changing settings. Thanks in advance, Liam
I've never heard of him/them but really enjoyed those tracks, especially the first one.
Yeah, they're still quite low key, but they're working their way up. Hanson is a great bassist, and i love the tone he's got from that Warwick of his. Some of their other stuff is brilliant, definately one to watch if you ever see them around anywhere. Liam
The amp you've linked to has Speakon connectors or terminal posts (not banana plug sockets). You need Speakon to 1/4 jack speaker leads (not audio cables). Best bet here is to talk to obbm.
Looking at the back of the amp, i think he's intending to Bridge instead of running 2 power amps, for which there is no speakon connector. Although, your suggestion of talking to OBBM is a good one, as i'm sure he can make a bridging cable with speakons for this. Liam

I know i'm a bit late, but for anyone looking at this and wondering about the DI issue above, from what i've seen the PSM200 has 2 inputs, both feed the IEM system and also direct into an output for each on the rear. That's how the specs looked to me anyway. Liam

3 piece or 4 piece would suit me. I would prefer 1 guitar, so i have a bit more space in the mix, but i can easily work with 2. Thankfully my bands rhythm guitarist has a really good tone that doesn't intrude on mine at all. Liam

Kerrang! Radio for me (Alex Baker show, 10-12 on a Sunday night) or right now, Bolton FM, because my mate is on the unsigned show and she's musically awesome. Liam

I love the playing on these 2, absolutely brilliant live as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8ZSx63q8C4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_l-zVWco5k&feature=channel&list=UL More Reggae/Rock if you ask me, but these guys are one of the best local bands i've ever heard, seen them a few times and they never fail to put on a brilliant show, with some absolutely brilliant song titles too. They've become pretty popular around here, because nobody from Wigan seems to have heard anything that isn't rock, pop or mc (Is it really music?) before. Liam
Great video, although I dont know if I would be confident singing what is essentially a girl sing about boys. Or, has something huge just gone right over my head! lol
I think the main thing is that we actually don't really care what we sing, we're just out to have a bit of fun, and if that means we end up singing a girls song then so be it, it's all just a bit of banter, as we put it. We just play whatever we feel like playing, whether it's Ke$ha, Pokemon, or anything. On another note, thanks for listening. Liam

Bumperoo, nobody fancy a strange pop/punk acoustic cover. Liam

Not had a chance to have a listen at work but i can highly reccomend ROS as an exceptional band, both in studio and live. We gigged with them aaagesss ago in 2010 and they we're damn good then. I'll have a listen when i get home, but from the stuff on your youtube it's sounding good to me. Liam

1.5mm2 or 2.5mm2 - so difficult a choice!
LiamPodmore replied to 4 Strings's topic in Repairs and Technical
Most cables i see are 2.5mm[sup]2 [/sup]so my best guess would be to go for that, but i'm not really too knowledgeable on that so someone smarter might have a different opnion. Liam -
Intustry standard 6 string bass? what would you recomend?
LiamPodmore replied to petercullenbassist's topic in Bass Guitars
Yamaha TRB, although i would love a Bongo 6 personally. Liam -
I think Maple looks a hell of a lot better, unless it's fretless. Sound-wise, i don't think there's really much difference, it's mostly from an aesthetic point of view to me. Liam
