Because they don't say "Fender" on the headstock. I've played a few Musicman basses in the past few years and found them all to be be brilliant, especially the SUB 5 that HW Audio in Bolton had in as 2nd hand stock, that was probably the best bass below £500 i've played. They seem to have amazingly good build quality (aside from the odd couple of incidents here and there) compared to a lot of other manufacturers, and are well priced, especially used. What's not to love? Liam

I'm going to go for Alien Ears when i get mine. I worked it out at about £300/£320 altogether for a set of Triple Driver custom moulds, not sure what it'l be now but i can't imagine it'l be much more. Liam

Used Japanese Fender, or if it has to be new, Squier CV or VM, like previously mentioned. Liam

Orange, although i think you should go Orange Metalflake, because under stage lights it would look f*cking amazing. Liam

I'm playing Get Rompered Festival (Wybersley Hall Farm, Cheshire) on the 18th of May (Opening the friday night) if anyone else is on there, and i'm at Simple Plan at the Manchester HMV Ritz on the 2nd of May. I'll be very likely to add more to that list yet, as i'm always buying tickets. Liam
Is it bad if I looked at that and thought "Cool, but which one are you?" >.>
I'm the podgy long haired guy who doesn't fit in at all with his band or his bands genre. Liam -
My personal vote goes to the Line 6 G50. That's got all the features that makes a good wireless to me. The rackmount version (G90) occasionally pops up on here for about £400 but i have only seen a few, otherwise its roughly £530. Liam

I'm the 3rd guy along, in the Linkin Park T Shirt. Me on stage, with the band (we're nowhere near as Indie as we look in this photo, honest). Liam -
Some random cheapos for now, they sound damn good but barely last a 3/4 weeks. Likely to stick with my usual Ernie Balls like i have on my Jazz after i run out of these (My uncle gave me about 7 sets when i bought my P off him). I used a set of Picato flats when i was borrowing my mates P/J which sounded good, but as has been mentioned previously in this thread, the engineer EQ'd them like rounds at the gig i played, so they sounded pretty shi*te.
Gallagher twins?
Thinking about it, they aren't twins, but for some reason my mind thought they were at the point of writing that post. I think i better edit that. Liam
Christ, that Sykes fella must be rich, the band ain't bad but I've heard better metalcore singers in bands of angry 15 year olds. They've got lots of very nice gear, so they've got some money behind them, and they're on an indie label, so yep, he's rich.
I think the fact that half of the teenage population is in love with him/them also helps the cash flow. I absolutely f*cking despise him. Although i'll admit, it takes some skill (and obvious marmite-like target audience) to get on the Kerrang! Best Band and Worst Band list at the Kerrang! Awards a few years back. Oli Sykes Axl Rose Fred Durst (Sometimes) Courntney Love and the Gallagher brothers. Those are my frontman hates (Yes, they're all men, even Courtney Love, although Axl i'm not 100% sure of ) Liam Edited for major fail in brain function.

Should I add another cab or Switch for something bigger.
LiamPodmore replied to CJPJ's topic in Amps and Cabs
Like Lozz says, add another SP210 (that is if your current one is an 8Ω cab). Your OTB will be putting out @ 350w into 8Ω.
The Orange Terrors actually put out 500w at both 4 and 8 Ohms. I would say get something bigger than the SP210, like many have said above me. The Barefaced suggestion would be my choice, i'm planning on getting an OBT and a Barefaced Super 12 later this year. Liam -
I'm in a competition on YouTube and I need your help!

Brilliant song Nick, i was wondering if you on here actually, but now you clearly are. Liked it when you posted your video a few days ago as i've been subbed for a while (And we've had a few conversations too, my username is dopewithabass) Liam -
None of us mind a drink or two at gigs or occasionally rehearsals, but we all know our limits and can drink quite a lot, so it never really affects us too much. We tend to be very laid back anyway, so it just adds to the stage show if we're a little bit tipsy (but still playing well, of course) and we always seem to come out with funnier on stage banter when we've had a drink too, and that really is part of our show. Hello and welcome to the forums. There's plenty of amps for sale on here for dirt cheap, so you'll not be hunting for long. Liam

If you want triples these are a bit cheaper than where you were looking. Alien Ears AE3 Fixed Cord That's where i'm likely to get mine when i get some (hopefully late this year), but i'll be after the removable cord i think.
There was one time my band rented a C-20 (Chevy's 'Transit') from Rent-A-Wreck to go do a weekend of rehearsals up in the mountains in the middle of Pennsylvania. Me and the singer got back approx. one month later with the van on a trailer, all the windows busted out, every panel bent and even some bullet holes in it. Long story.
Did you get your deposit back? Liam
My mate has a van called Nelson Vandela - it's some old railway services van, with portaloo in the rear. Classy
Suppose it's better than a p*ss bucket in a corner, and i just love that name. Liam
-
Not really a van story but try fitting the whole band, plus our guitarists mother, in a Ford Galaxy along with our PA, 2 guitar combos, bass combo, and drums (5 piece with all hardware and cymbals too), 2 guitars, and 2 basses. Singer had a kick drum on his lap for half the trip, it must've been quite a sight for any onlookers. Liam
Although this has caught my eye: http://www.kennysmus...ck-package.html Wicked price for 300w of Ashdown MAG into a 210 cab.
Not a bad price for new, but as many others have said, a little bit of patience and searching the FS threads for a few days, you could get that rig for about £200 with ease. Liam

School boy errors at gigs - my worst was last night
LiamPodmore replied to Cat Burrito's topic in General Discussion
But,all the lower notes in all those tunings are available on a standard tuned 5 string?
Indeed they are, i was just lazy back then, i still am now, but i only play in Standard and occasionally venture to Drop D so i don't need my 5 string anymore with that band. Liam -
Why would you need to borrow a capo, especially if you are using a five string? I've snapped a bunch of strings when only using one bass.....It's no problem to readjust and play on 3 or 4strings until the break, when I can put a new one on-it just needs a little more thinking and a few more shifts.
Lazyness, and the bass was tuned in 1 step down, it was only for the first 4 songs and i normally swapped to my 5 after that, just used the down tuned 4 string because it made learning songs a bit easier. Playing in E Standard, Drop D, D Standard and Drop C is a ballache and a half, glad we don't anymore. Liam
