Hi guys, strictly a feeler.... very happy if it stays. Nothing much to say about it, i guess we all know enough about these. The pictures speak for itself. The price is £500 shipped anywhere , in a hardcase. None negotiable at all. These basses are some of the best P's i've tried. Cheers

Hi, I live in Berlin, where the market is way down than anything i've seen (although the cost of life is down, my monthly rent all bills included is £240 and i live alone). In town a corporate / wedding will get you about 200/250 euro per musician. So you basically pay your rent and food with 2 or 3 gigs. Outside of Berlin in cities with more money that rises to about 400/500 euro per person for 2 or 3 sets, and more... I've had some amazing experience, some very bad. A barmitzva, by contract food has to be included for the band.... food looks amazing... BUT they had ordered pizza hut for the band. LOL... etc In Belgium where i gig often, a wedding would be about 300 per musician.

NBD : Custom overwater contemporary jazz
pierreganseman replied to pierreganseman's topic in General Discussion
yes, before any one ask, the b string is very very nice..... and yes its possible with a 33 inch -
hi guys here is my latest overwater. Specs : ash body poplar top full wengé neck 3 band eq 33 inch tuning B to G Attention to detail is absolutely stunning. Working with overwater is a pleasure, although i do recommend calling them straight, which has been a bit hard with me as I live in Germany. Yes they are not too good with emails...... it's the 1st ever 33 inch jazz with a low B they have ever done. It's basically a whole new model with a downsized jazz body etc. just have a look. cheers

just don't believe people saying the tanglewood / overwater are as good as the uk one... there's a reason why one is worth 500... and the other one 2500/3000 you can't go wrong with them in the end, what ever people may think of, there's a reason they've been used by full time pro since the 80's

hard to say, for having played one for many hours, when I had it for a bit..... nothing sounds like a wal, literally nothing... on the other hand, it does MANY MANY MANY tones which are totally NOT usable.... but once you find that sweet one.... you'll probably not find a better one with any other bass man!

My experience with the shop bassgear
pierreganseman replied to pierreganseman's topic in Bass Guitars
"We agreed to swallow the £10 because we'd quoted the price to the customer - he insisted on paying the extra £10 because he was pleased with the service" Of course Barrie, nice service makes the whole difference. -
My experience with the shop bassgear
I really can't bring myself to push a bass at someone that isn't right for them or that I can't recommend myself. In fact just yesterday I was telling someone about trying out a few different things at The Gallery because their range is quite different to what BassGear have in stock. He's visiting Alex at the weekend and will, hopefully, make up his mind on merit rather than sales spiel
good man, yes alex at the gallery can be quite blunt to "nah man don't even try this, that bass is crap..." .... yes, i can only agree. It is VERY nice to not feel like you MUST buy the bass right now , and in my experience They will even give their opinion whether it gets a sale or not. -
Hi, 1st let me start off by saying I am not working for them, I am not affiliated in ANY way with this shop. The biggest "discount" they have given me was free shipping to germany (as thanks god i don't live in London anymore). I am only a freelance bass player , looking for good shop easy to deal with. Overall after meeting them at the LBS in 2012, I could not be happier. The basses have been shipped in ultra double time. Very well packed, Barrie even went the extra mile to spend £10 for a better shipping service. I am a freelance player only, so the bank is not always in good shape lol , Barrie has always tried to meet me halfway if needed. I have always got answers to email (which is the only way I have delt with them, I have never even seen the shop) within one day. Which is very cool, 'cause it seems these days it's a fashion not to answer emails , or answer 6 month late and say "i hope you are still interested", well no i am not, in the mean time I went to some one who was interested in my money lol (I won't give any name, as this is about bass gear , and not other companies... lol) All people there are bass players, Barrie went through more basses than me... and he knows his stuff thumbs up for the guys there! cheers bassgear.co.uk

hi the NYC's are not worth at all the extra in my opinion... unless you want a very specific option not available in the metro range.... originally the metro line was designed for japanese market... roger sad' says himself that japanese customer is one fo the most demanding one, and that if a japanese customer is happy with something , 99,99999% of people be... once saw a metro and a nyc with same specs.... they were of course not exactly the same sounding basses, but was the NYC worth £1500/2000 extra?? not at all
