yes , i'd have to agree. I've heard of troubles happening in the past on orders
-
I'm not gonna answer for them but i've seen drastic differences in "buzzing" (usually on open strings) with more winding. I'd personally advise the full lengh of the peg , or about 3 turns + .... and then wonder about the rest (string tree or whatever, even if that's too a very small fix either way)
-
string winding before anything is my advise.
-
Maruszczyk standard heads are slightly angled so you specifically do not need one of those but you must have enough winding and sometimes some minutes of nut filing are needed.
-
"isn't much" is hard to say but can be yes indeed ..... so try changing strings and put enough (more?) winding around the peg before going for nut filing
-
all you need is a round file and 76 seconds. Take off the string and carefully make the nut "deeper" on the A string. Step by step ... until it goes away. I have had that 3 times on customers basses. 1st one went to a local luthier and got told it needed a refret / levelling for 300 euros. Adrian sorted it in 39 seconds at his HQ. do make sure you have enough winding around the tuning peg.

hard to say. 1st time i hear about such problems as a dealer and a customer however if bass was bought used i suppose its hard to know what happened to it before you owned it.

Martin Petersen at the Gallery is still one of the very best I have met. If somebody can fix it in the UK its definitely him. If you wanna order a new neck be aware they'll need the Body anyways.

beautiful stuff. This is a 62-98. The same principle as your bass but in 62 RI. CTS , NITRO , Fullerton Pickup

The only ones who haggle are the Americans. They're the only ones making offers below dealer price on a very regular basis. Last one offered me 1240 USD on a 2000 USD Elwood I have in stock. And then gets sort of offended when i turn him and starts PM's me on Reverb swearing he's gonna give it a good home.... Actually not even "haggling" in my books , just plain rude and offensive
Are there any Stenback owners on basschat? I love the look of these and every time someone plays one it seems to be like some sort of bass spiritual awakening. I know they stopped taking orders and there is no website anymore, is there a huge waiting list? He also mentioned exciting developments which they never said any more about on facebook. Just interested to know more I guess.
Well tom is building 15 basses per year roughly so the more time on emails , the less time building , and he's alone ....

if thats the ones i think about they're not walnut but tainted ash. i had one in stock , amazing JB , sounded nuts but on the heavy end of things
I'm liking these ideas! I might have to start with the 2 necks option & then at a later date, get a 2nd loaded body built.
you'll then need to send the neck to adrian or to the shop , to make sure the neck is perfect fit .... (i had a customer asking same)

Adrian told me the configurator is very complicated to do and program , more options and things will be added as they go along there's a FB group "public peace configurator" where you can go and post your feedback
I'm a little disappointed the configurator isn't fully complete yet, I'm not GASing for a jazz style bass, however I am DESPERATE for a decent P currently and some of my wants are very specific. The configurator however is a phenomenal idea and something more brands should look in to adding to their website, it'll simplify the process of getting any custom bass ordered!
The custom configurator is now live guys ! ;-)
I had a customer asking for the same sort of vibe , it came out a sputnik with solid color is a bit cheaper ... Just asked , bolt on is not possible ... so solid color is the only way to bring price a bit down.
I had a customer asking for the same sort of vibe , it came out a sputnik with solid color is a bit cheaper ... I have no idea but he can eventually do a bolt on? No idea, you need to ask him
Question, I really like the Sputnik, but I notice it's always the most expensive model but does anyone know if Adrian could cater for a more budget Sputnik? I guess the price comes from the premium woods used for the Sputnik so do you reckon he could do it cheaper with non premium materials? I'm probably best off emailing Adrian but thought I would ask here too.
The customizer will be updated as it goes along as apparently its a proper nightmare to program ..... So worry not , your wallet is in trouble lol , all shapes and models will be possible
So, turns out that the customizer on the website will be for the Elwood's only, at least for now. My wallet is safer than it was.

I know you described it as Lake Placid Blue, but I always thought LPB was lighter. Beautiful bass none the less though!
i agree , however that's his version of it
-
i may have just wet myself .....
-
My custom is kinda close too , 54 style PB (sting) in Lake placid blue , matching head, ebony board ;-) Some kinda porn that's gonna be éy....

Morning guys , may be of some interest to some of you.... adrian told me they just did their 1st Thunderbird design Maruszczyk ;-) other Gibson shapes maybe will come later.
