  1. Thanks that’s kind of you. The drums on this recording were programmed by the keyboard player too!
  2. This is an album which is part of a project featuring tracks by Derek & the Dominoes,Grateful Dead, Little Feat, The Band and all sorts of other early ‘70s stuff. https://tidal.com/album/291320806 There is also an EP featuring the original instigator of Rootsy Blue, a good drummer friend and long time musical collaborator of mine, whose aim was to put together a collection of the music that he grew up with, for his grandson. https://tidal.com/album/167193116 I’m really pleased with these. BTW I much prefer the quality of the Tidal streams.
  3. That’s a cracking Pino line isn’t it. A few members of a band I used to play with did a lockdown recording with me using a borrowed squire vm fretless, which I really liked. https://on.soundcloud.com/baSTM68H7Qqp1oTs5
  4. That's great, I really enjoyed that thank you. I'm a huge PG and Tony Levin fan and this is one of my favourites tracks from one of my all time favourite albums. I love what you've done with it
  5. Thanks WOT. I enjoyed that far more than the new one
  6. I'd certainly endorse these. I had one on a long term loan from a friend for a while and really didn't want to give it back.
  7. Cocteau Twins Lovely stuff, but even if you could decipher the words... I have no idea.
  8. I filed the fret ends up at the dusty end on mine too, it made a lot of difference. Fortunately my later model JJ 5 string was dead quiet on arrival and sounded great, however I recently fitted the full VTC replacement controls and preamp. Well worth it, I'd highly recommend the upgrade in terms of versatility of usable sounds and taming the hot preamp a little with the tone control. £145 from Bass direct well spent !
  9. Love this album I bought it in the´80s and still have it.
  10. TC Spectracomp for simplicity and subtlety, with the option to get complicated if you want to in the edit settings
  11. My first bass. £30 from Wing Music in Bromley. £449! Wish I’d kept it
  12. Sadowsky Metro Express. made in the Warwick china factory I think
  13. i have an earlier one of these which I happily used on it's own for years, in pubs and often in larger venues with lots of PA support. Then I added a 102p traveller and now I nearly always use them together. Plenty of headroom; I rarely have the master volume up more than a tad ( that's about a smidgen in metric!) and I just love the sound of my hybrid "4X10".
  14. I had a FAL pa amp as my first bass amp Worjked atreat for me although I was 15 at the time
  15. Woolworths Audition 25w combo FAL( 150w?) PA Aamp + huge " Custom made Orange type" 2x12 reflex cab that sounded about the right level close up, but could rearrange someone's digestive system 100 yards away. HH VS Bass Amp with aforementioned cab. I had to give the cab up, much to my teenage angst, as it was damaging the roof of my Dad's VW beetle when moved around on the roof rack. I had to downgrade to two 1x12's which were rubbish. Borrowed Trace 250 head + 4x10 and 1x15 rig, for gigs as I got back into bass playing after a 15 year gap and a few lost years as a guitard. Hartke HA2000 head Ashdown 4x!0 and 1x15 cabs Harke HA500 plus above cabs Markbass CMD102p plus Markbass Traveller 2x10 cab
  16. It was a long time ago! However it still seems that the 4x10+1x15 combination dogma is still a thing for some.
  17. Before I switched to my Markbass 210 set up I heaved an Ashdown 4x10 and 1X15 around. It was when the 1x15 blew and I gigged the 4x10 solo that I saw (heard!) the light. much prefer 10s and never worried about lack of bottom, in fact a lot of rooms I have cut the bass back a little.
  18. I've just bought an EHX Bass Clone from Glenn. Great pedal , nice price; a speedy, efficient and pleasant transaction.
  19. Here is my little board. Now with “extra melodic richness” with the addition of the EHX Bass Clone, which arrived yesterday courtesy of @glenalli of this parish. I tried it briefly last night at a rehearsal. I’m really impressed with it.
  20. One of these ?S1 Switch I have a US Jazz with an S1 switch. It works a treat.
  21. I recently posted in effects for sale and it’s looking like this with a little warning triangle. please can you advise ?
  22. This is brand new, unused and first time out of the box for the photos, as I inadvertently bought two, so this one has been sitting in it’s packaging for a few months waiting for me to do something with it. https://www.sonicake.com/products/octave They’re £27 on fleabay and £33 on Amazon, so how about £25 posted ?
