1. Third Stone From The Sun - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
2. Unnatural Selection - Muse.
3. Had proper 80's long hair, nipple length at the back and sides with a cut fringe, but cut it all off in order to join the RAF. I still miss it.
4. Ifonly I was looking for a Precision...seems a bargain.
5. Not overly impressed.
6. That is hideous on so many levels!
7. The purple is gorgeous! I may have to find an old beater to give it a try.
8. I think I'd leave it well alone if you can't go and see it. For that money, you don't want any doubts.
9. Periodically I pick up my guitar, get all enthusiastic for an hour then pick up the bass again!
10. I have just forwarded those to other band members. Like everyone, sounds eerily familar to conversations I've had at venues. The only missing part is the lack of anywhere to unload within half a mile.
11. When they first came out there were some QC issues, but these appear to have been resolved. I have had no problems whatsoever with mine and am very happy with the range of tones and volume available.
12.
So it could just be done in General Discussion , it doesn't need an extra forum drawing attention to itself.
+1.
13. I use the MB4210 combo using Fender Jazz basses. As already said, the combo is more than powerful enough to rehearse in a rock band although I also trot out the extension cab for gigs (for much the same reasons!). Very versatile as well covering a wide range of sounds. Its fair to say that when some of the first MB amps came out, some had some QC issues, but Marshall got them sorted quite quickly and their customer service is second to none.
14. Bass Gallery have a black one advertised at £199. It has been there for donkeys though...
15. Too slow again! Nice looking bass at a great price.
16. Seriously considering a Modern Player Jazz. Or more likely the Jaguar as I don't have a PJ or a maple fretboard yet. And probably some sort of envelope filter.
17. Always wanted a Precision, went in to get an MIA P, came out with a MIM Jazz. Nicest bass in the shop, comfortable to play and great tone. Now I have 2 (and a P!) but I always come back to that first Jazz 90% of the time.
18. Killing In The Name - RATM. Simple but effective, love it.
19. I quite often find myself doing the "sticky out little finger" as if I am holding a cup of tea with my plucking hand. The guitarist often takes the piss when I do, but then he waggles his elbow like a duck's wing when bending a note. The drummer just dribbles...
20. At the last two Sonispheres it has taken me less than 45 minutes to get out of the car park at Knebworth each night, including the final nights, so I think the situation is somewhat improved. Maybe we should have a post-gig meet up while letting the other cars out!
21. Not having seen them for years (Hyde Park last time), I've bitten the bullet and bought a ticket for Knebworth. I did go and see the "new album live at the cinema" thing not so long ago with my 12 year old son who loved it, so I shall take him to his first "proper" gig as well.
22. Had an A string let go about 6 months ago at a rehearsal. My own fault, the strings were old and well past it, but we were due to gig a week later so thought I would wait to replace them.
