  1. Sold Martin a set of TI flats. No hassle, fast payment, good communication. Cheers Martin 😊
  2. Oh dear - these require refinishing IMO
  3. I had the exact same thought 😂 I’ve had a few Euros and whilst they all sounded great, my keeper is a ‘99/‘00 CRFM that has a slimmer profile.
  4. I love the look of that red CST with the ebony board 😍
  5. @EddieG - Thanks for sharing your experience. I’d noticed some of the Letts offerings on Reverb and they had piqued a little intrigue so I’m glad to have been steered clear. I empathise with your situation, I think most of us have experienced a fair share of loss, be it financial, relational etc. It’s not a nice feeling and we deal with it in different ways. Seems like you lost a positive experience of being built a custom instrument, where you should have been indulged and looked after as a valued customer. I hope you get some closure soon.
  6. Thanks. Do you have any pics of the two you have? I’m curious to see others…
  7. A set of TI JF344 jazz flats. The silks are in good condition with some minor fraying. These have been cut for a 2+2 headstock (so not suitable for Fender type headstocks) Price - NOW £30 includes UK delivery.

  8. Despite being a serial purveyor of bass and long-time BC member, I’ve not posted a NBD before! However, due to the scarcity of reviews for these basses I felt I should add to our collective record here… This appeared for sale in a local music shop here in South Wales, I stopped by to have a look and left with it. The info received so far is that it’s a 1984 Wilkes Savoy Deluxe, alder body, bolt-on maple neck with ebony board. Schaller 232 bassbucker pickups and 2-band (unknown) active eq with passive switching and passive tone control that only works in passive mode. It feels like a high quality instrument, the neck is particularly playable, a slim profile and lovely feeling finish on the back of the neck. Sonically, it’s got a nice resonance to it and very full and fat tone from the dual humbuckers. Lots of tonal options with the 3-way selector switch and a polite eq that works well. I’m looking forward to seeing how it sounds with the band. I’m surprised we don’t see hear more about these lovely instruments! I’d love to hear any others views / experiences about Wilkes basses. And yes, it looks very similar to a Jaydee. Cheers!
  9. I bought a pedal from Adam. Top class BC’er. Good comms, fast delivery, item as described. Cheers buddy.
  10. May have been tempted by a jazz bass. Alas.
  11. I’ve got the EMG BTS preamp in my CRFM euro, I am happy with the sound but I could be tempted to try the LHZ out of curiosity. Can anyone comment if the LHZ is likely to sound more similar to a TonePump or the BTS?
  12. I picked up this 1990 TL5 very recently. Really a top notch instrument… solid maple wings, lovely jet-black ebony board. Can’t fault the build quality on it. The neck is very comfortable with a very flat D profile. Sound-wise, it’s in beefy jazz bass territory. I’m suitably impressed.
  13. I’ve had this little practice amp for years and it’s a pretty decent example from the mid-90’s. All works fine, there is some slight crackle on the input jack when you first plug the lead in. Collection from Cardiff. I would be happy to post at buyers expense but I don’t think this would be cost-effective for an amp of this value…
  14. Akai MPK mini that’s been gathering dust. I’m not quite sure how I tell which MK / version this is ??! I don’t have the USB cable for this but easily available. No box either. Just what you see in the picture. Price includes UK postage.

  15. A set of gold Gotoh tuners. I had these installed on a Spector bass. 2+2 configuration. They have some light scratching visible. The worst of which is pictured. Functionally fine. Price includes UK postage Further info: Gotoh Compact Bass Tuner, 2L+2R Set Enclosed-gear tuners for smaller pegheads, with 7/16"-diameter string posts and threaded hex bushings. 9/16"-diameter pegholes required. Precision 20:1 gear ratio with sealed lubrication, cast housings and metal knobs. Set of 4, for 2-left/2-right pegheads. Mounting screws included.
  16. This is a direct replacement for Korean Spector basses. Includes gold mounting screws and Allen key. Includes UK postage.
  17. Recently purchased from here but decided not to use in the end. Great condition. This is the aluminium version and is very light. It has three mounting holes that will align with the standard fender spacing and also contains holes to facilitate through-body stringing if required. Specs here: https://docs.hipshotproducts.com/5A4FM2_4_STG_A_STYLE_FENDER_MOUNT_2_BRIDGE_DIMENSIONS.pdf I’m asking just what I paid a few weeks ago so no offers please. Price includes UK delivery.

  18. I’m starting this feedback thread for Wookiebass as a new member of our BC community. Glyn purchased two Spector basses from me yesterday, he even drove a fair distance to collect them in person. The whole transaction from start to finish was great. Glyn is a lovely, polite gent with some great stories to tell. Deal with confidence, an asset to the BC community.
  19. Another bass up for sale, may be withdrawn if any of the others sell. This is a fairly unique Spector Coda, according to PJ Rubal, this one (#100) was originally made for Nick Beggs but ended up with Steven Wilson who I recently purchased it from. There’s video footage of Steven using the bass if interested, and Nick continues to use an identical one on recent tour. It has black mother of pearl inlays and badass bridge as additional upgrades. It has a transparent black finish which goes nicely with the inlays. The pickups are Aguilar NC with OBP2 preamp. Its a great playing and sounding bass. It has a gorgeous feeling neck with birdseye maple fingerboard. A top quality instrument all round. In great condition only a small ding on the headstock and a couple of small blemishes on the body. It comes with a Spector hard case. Happy to post at buyers expense. Collection from Cardiff would be preferred.
  20. This is my Spector Coda 4 pro up for sale. It’s basically an active jazz bass with a nice figured maple top. Made in Korea, now discontinued. It has the Czech-made Tone Pump Jr preamp and a pair of EMG-HZ pickups. Whilst it’s not what most people will associate with Spector, this is a really decent build quality which I can’t fault. It has the standard Spector 16” neck radius and narrower string spacing which will feel familiar to anyone who is well acquainted with the NS and Euro basses. The Tone pump also delivers some of the grit and grind you might associate with Spector tone. Collection / trial welcome in Cardiff. I don’t have a hard case for this but can wrap it well and box for posting at buyers expense.
  21. Thanks Matt, I will likely keep whichever Spector doesn’t sell though this one is my favourite.
  22. Badass 2 bass bridge in chrome. Good condition. Functioning properly. No mounting screws included. £70 includes postage to your UK address.
  23. Well, this BB3000 didn’t last long at BassBros! Did anyone here snap it up? https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1983-yamaha-bb3000/
  24. Up for sale, and somewhat reluctantly, my immaculate Spector Euro Doug Wimbish. This was the first year of the instrument in 2009. According to PJ Rubal, they only did a very small number with the signed certificate by Doug - I’ve not seen another one to date. This comes with a TKL hardcase. The bass is in excellent condition, I would say nearly mint. This is the same spec as other Euro LX models except for the narrower neck profile (38mm nut) and a figured quilt maple top. Nice weight too at 3.95KG. It balances perfectly without any hint of neck dive. Collection preferred but happy to ship at the buyers expense within the UK. No trades at present.
