Personal preference. It does for me. My first fiver was a 34". Didn't got on with it. Switched with 35" and loved it. I know string choice and neck joint are important but all things considered I can still hear and feel the difference between the two. So having both 34" and 35" for different occasion is the answer for me.

But I'm not intending to have both fiver out at the same time. It's nice to have one of each in the event that there's a song that needs a tighter B string sound. That's my logic anyway. Went to guitarguitar Birmingham yesterday and tried Lakland DJ5 in grey. If it was in white I would've gone home with it!

Babicz on my jazz. Sonically minimal difference. I only got one because of the fact that I can lock the string height compared to those standard bridges.

I know we both are GAS-ing for Laklands so Darryl Jones it is. I'm quite set myself now to get a DJ5 in white and maple when the stock arrives.

I have both Fender and Lakland, and I'm in the Lakland camp. Yes it doesn't sound much different in a band context but it was the neck that won it for me. Most comfortable neck I've played on and to think it won me over a US MTD.
