  1. Seriously though, my big band starts up rehearsals on 25th September and depending on how awful it is we may or may not have a Christmas gig. Getting 25 people up to speed again (if everyone comes back) takes a bit more work than a 3 piece!
  2. There were people so I came home again.
  3. Just like every guitar amp since Philips used to sell valves and give away schematics for radios and amplifiers. No copyright in a circuit.
  4. Selling a Yamaha HS7 monitor as I have 3 of them and I only need 2. Great condition, only been used in the house with my Helix (wonderful for that). £110 ideally collected from Northants but postage is possible too. Now £110 including delivery in the UK.
  5. All works as it should. No idea where the box is, but it will be safely packed. £165 including signed for postage in the UK.
  6. PRICE DROP TO £425 delivered as I've spotted something shiny that I don't think will be around long I have too many amps so one (maybe 2) must go as I have serious gas for a bass and need to raise the money. Darkglass M900 version 1. Fully working. Few little marks here and there but nothing that is easy to photograph. Box is a bit tatty / torn in places. £500 with insured and signed for delivery. Or collection from Northants. £425 including delivery in the UK! Only while the other thing is available!
  7. Amazon. Search for Designercable. Job done. Or get a wireless.
  8. ah man. If I wasn't saving for a new bass...
  9. I think I've only matched them once in 30+ years of playing. It's not something I worry about at all. I've had a lot of cabs in that time from cheap no-name crap to Mark Bass, Bergantino, Marshall, Hartke, Barefaced and others. These days it's a Barefaced Super Twin with one of my 4 amps depending on what mood I'm in. Usually either a Tech21 VT500 or a Mark Bass Marcus Limited 800. Those 2 are my favourites.
  10. My favourite is the Aguilar AG4P-60 1960s wind. Very nice.
  11. Rotos have coloured ball ends. So that’s not it. the left does look more like a Thomastic. The right - no idea!
  12. Currently playing root note stuff to retrain my ruptured tendon finger. Its a bit boring! Still if it gets me match fit again, it’s all good.
  13. I've really fallen for my 32 scale Ibby. I love it. Cheap as chips and easily as good as other stuff in the £750 price bracket. Will be even better when I bin the preamp and put an Aguilar in it.
  14. My sandberg didn't have markers on the board. I used stickers. I used those little round removable web cam covering stickers as they don't mark anything. £10 for the stickers and half an hour of swearing while getting them lined up properly. Use tweezers! Job done. I'm sure you could try the same on the side, or use slightly larger stickers over the top of the front ones so you can see them. Probably won't need them forever - just until you get used to the scale.
  15. I've been down that road - Warmoth don't do any EBMM compatible products. Reading between the lines, they think they will get sued. I think they are being overly cautious as a neck pocket is a neck pocket. As long as the headstock was both different enough and not able to be reshaped to match a Ray I can't see any issues. Bodies are far easier. I did get an estimate from Shuker about making a chambered body a few years ago - It was just under £500 including it being painted fully and loading the hardware etc. Other household expenses got in the way and now I've sold the bass. It wasn't going to be an identical shape, a bit thinner as Ray 5's are massively thick, and the upper horn was going to be a little longer to help the balance even more.
  16. I agree with you, the sparkly green one is my favourite version too.
  17. You could buy the lightest one you can find and then have a replacement body made and move all the hardware over. Then keep the original body in case it needs to be reassembled and sold in the future.
  18. I emailed EBMM a few years ago asking about a chambered body. They said no, they don’t do any custom things like that for us mortals. Shame as I’d like one.
  19. Lovely! Sandberg will do medium scale versions of all their basses - the extra money is the same as going from 34 to 35. Quite tempted myself!
  20. I have one of those things - attaches to a mic stand. I used it when I had a load of surgery. Worked well enough.
