  1. I agree. P bass. Tone rolled off a little. Probably straight into the board. Bit of compression. maybe, just maybe some light muting going on. A lightweight and narrow bit of foam maybe.
  2. Do you mean the size of the parts or the different number of pole pieces? If the latter - just tape over them. Nothing more to see!
  3. I wish I had some GAS funds at the minute. I loved the old rack version all those years ago.
  4. Of course I do - I'd bring her sister as well.
  5. As long as there's no knickers, I'm game.
  6. Are newly built ones reliable now? I quite like the idea of having one.
  7. That might be a fair bit to do with the cab. It tops out at a pretty low 4 Khz. The tweeter cabs go all the way to 20 Khz - just like the Mark Bass Marcus cabs, and he's got plenty of top end.
  8. Youtube demos of bass amps have to be one of the most pointless things on earth. I have the Gold Line version of the amp so it has a semi para rather than the Millerizer / Old School thing but TBH I don't really use those controls. The regular EQ on it does all I need 99% of the time. The para is useful for taming the very highs if needed but I use flats mostly so it's not an issue. I find it nice and warm even with a BF Super Twin. Definitely sounds better than youtube suggests.
  9. HX Stomp? No touch screen though. I think the only touchscreen items are the Headrush and the Neural Quad Cortex.
  10. Yes. Much better than the regular ones - the EQ centres are far more sensible.
  11. Can the OP post a link? I might want to contribute to the replies....
  12. The Fearless Flyers new live album that dropped yesterday.
  13. Worst by far: Queens of the Stone Age. Seen them twice - both times were bloody awful. Sloppy, out of tune, not giving a crap. Best 3 gigs ever in no particular order: Prince. O2 residency Hugh Laurie and the Copper Bottom Band - New Theatre, Oxford (I'm not kidding, it was right up there with Prince.) Pantera - first UK Ozzfest, whenever that was.
  14. I've not played one. There are quite a few poor reviews about the guitars and customer service. There's a facebook group of Solar users raising issues about them. I was very close to buying (new) one of their guitars but the reviews put me off enough to decide against it. That being said, you have the chance to properly look at this one rather than an online purchase and I've got no doubt there will be some cracking examples out there too. I may well consider a used one where someone else has dealt with any issues.
  15. Can we change the thread to include bassists who don't understand music?
  16. Depends on the stand. Mine uses the bass strap buttons.
  17. I’ve got a stand. I used it when I was recovering from surgery. Its ok, feels a bit weird for the bass to not move.
  18. Source Audio Spectrum.
  19. MojoMojo sold and gone. Others still available.
  20. This is true. But I like his enthusiasm, and that I once won one of his competitions.
  21. My Fender Urge 2 has the pau ferro board. It's a nice wood! Lovey bass. I really must try a Lionel. I've never had a 30 scale bass.
  22. Still can't change them without disrupting your playing if you are playing anything remotely quick.
  23. Bump. Feel free to make offers, or a deal for all 3.
  24. Another vote for a Roland Bass Cube 30 - one of the older heavier ones. I still have mine despite my silly money main rig. It just sounds great.
