  1. Yup - some are in parallel. Horrible things.
  2. There is a video showing a few models. The SC and the BB2 (and thus the Super Twin and the BT2) sound quite different in the low mids You'll need good speakers though. and
  3. I have the Mezzo 5 and with the right strings it’s as good as my stingray 5. The stock 130 is a bit light though. 135 is better. I have a 4 as well tuned to C standard and it’s also excellent.
  4. Ibby website says 18mm string spacing at the bridge. How much does it weigh please? I really want one but with my issues I don't buy anything over 7.5lb anymore.
  5. Stick an EQ pedal in the FX loop and use that to further bring the volume down while the master vol on the amp is still functional and not just cutting off.
  6. Into the FX return of whatever head you have.
  7. Ibanez Mezzo 5 string. I have a 4 and a 5 and they are excellent.
  8. I quite like the See thru one. But other than that.... bleugh
  9. As the old saying goes.... I play jazz because I don’t like crowds!
  10. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/02/26/perspectives/covid-variants-global-vaccination/index.html?utm_medium=social&utm_content=2021-02-26T21%3A46%3A04&utm_source=twCNNi&utm_term=link Ultimately until the planet is vaccinated none of us are safe. Cant afford to have a geographically limited view.
  11. It's called Insertion Loss. EMG actually do specific balance controls to eliminate it.
  12. I already have the EMG ABCX active balance control.
  13. I have a set of EMG PJ-X pickups that I'm going to put in my 4 string Ibanez Mezzo. I'm also going to put in an EMG 2 band stacked Treble and Bass preamp. The pickups come with twin volume controls (and a Tone that won't be used) and I have never liked twin volumes. But in my box of things I have an EMG 3 way switch and an EMG ABCX active balance control. Most of my 2 pickup basses have a balance control and I'm familiar with it, but at the same time I can't help but think a 3 way might be easier. I don't think I've ever "balanced" the pickups - just all neck, all bridge or right in the middle. What do you reckon? Stick with a balance? Or have the 3 way?
  14. It's real. It's not a photoshop Eric Klein (head of Helix products at L6) has confirmed it. There's a FAQ on TGP written by him. Link to the FAQ: https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/hx-stomp-xl.2221270/post-31861903
  15. Or more money... https://i.imgur.com/G110eBJ.jpg
  16. Well the govt science guys did already say they expect masks and distancing to still be needed in the Winter again. My concern about festivals is the teenagers. Loads of teens go to festivals and they won't have had the vaccine. Of course teens are actually very likely to not even know they've had it at all - but they will spread it and with massive spread comes additional mutations of the virus. Won't take much for vaccine resistant strains to take hold.
  17. I was not aware of that amp. I was disappointed it wasn't a BBQ. But the demo I've just listened to is excellent! EDIT: It weighs 90lb!!!!!!!
  18. Not to mention the chance of Vaccine passports - either as a requirement from the govt as Gove is now looking at it, or whether the venues / event organisers themselves will insist on it. Lots of cruise companies already confirming nobody gets on board without proof of having both vaccines and the airlines have been saying similar will take place for them later this year when the global vaccine rollout is further along. And then there will be customers who won't attend events or book a venue for an event if the venue won't insist on vaccine proof. I saw a yougov poll that suggested 70% are in favour of vaccine passports - if that is accurate then market forces will win. I don't think the process is going to be nearly as simple as we'd like.
  19. Pair of Helix racks into a pair of Powersoft power amps into 4 Barefaced Big Twin cabs. Why? Why not!
