  1. Sadly I agree. Vaccinating 60 million people is not going to happen in the next 6 months. And as gig goers are likely to be younger they will be at the back of the queue. Can’t see full venues being allowed until 2022 sometime. Distancing will be needed until a good 90% have been vaccinated. I am really missing my big band 😢
  2. I'm going to be being disappointed that I might actually have to meet people in person again.
  3. I'm a big fan of Dunlop flats I've never known them to be particularly stiff. Could quite possibly be old ones. I've only had nice ones!
  4. Easy for them to grant rights to each other when needed though.
  5. As it seems to be digital and uses the same encoders I'm guessing it's just a cut down Quad Cortex. A DG Stomp if you will. But with less stuff.
  6. Selling my Bighead headphone amplifier / recording interface. Blurb from PJB website: "The PJB BigHead is not big at all. In fact it is barely larger than an iPhone. The “Big” is about the sound. It functions first as an awesome bass headphone amplifier with 2 band EQ ( +/- 18db @ 60 Hz and +/- 18dB @ 5KHz) set for optimization of all kinds of bass instruments. Unlike consumer electronic MP3 players and smartphones that have very small power output of around 20 milliwatt to drive headphones, the BigHead has more than 10 times the power. This contributes to a far more exhilarating listening experience with increased resolution and dynamics. Even if you are just listening to music, the BigHead will be a great improvement to your regular headphones, adding more listening pleasure. A more important function of the BigHead is being a recording tool both in digital and analog. As an Analog Digital Converter, it has the finest BURR BROWN digital components. The USB out is 48KHz 16Bit digital conversion. In other words, recording your bass into Pro Tools will give you exactly what you wish for and absolutely nothing else. Maybe you need an analog preamp. The Big Head can do that too. It will provide up to 12dB of gain and better than 96 dB signal to noise ratio. Just use the headphone out jack to feed an amp or mixer. It is also a perfect match with PJB powered monitors, the PB 100 or PB 300. It has an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery that is fed by its USB jack, so any computer or appropriate cell phone charger can charge it in less than 3 hours, but it can play for up to 8 hours." Instructions: https://www.pjbworld.com/cms/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Bighead_HA-1.pdf Vid demo: It's a cracking unit as a headphone amp and interface but I'm just using my helix for that these days. It's in great condition and comes with most of the cables... you will need a USB charging cable though. Because I stepped on it! Last one on here seemed to go for £120. So I'm looking for about £115 ono including UK postage. PRICE DROP TO £100 including UK delivery
  7. There is a massive thread on the other place about Mezzo modifications and upgrades. Some have gone completely passive with the stock pickups, others have just changed one or the other. But a popular thing seems to be ripping the whole lot out and putting in the EMG Geezer Butler set, either just with the stock EMG tone control or a 2 band EMG preamp. On mine I tend to use it with both EQ knobs down just a tiny bit as it sounds a bit scooped to me when at the centre positions. Then EQ the amp to taste. Then if I need to boost anything on the bass I'm not going up nearly as far on the knobs. As it happens I'm about to buy another (my 3rd!) and I'm tempted to try the EMG set in one of them.
  8. Demo sounds good. But I have to say - I'm starting to get a bit bored with all metal related bass tones all sounding like Darkglass. I love my DG amp and pedals and use them for many different things, but the super crunchy distorted bass tone is everywhere and just like the walls of Dual Recs guitar sounds in the 90s it's getting a bit dull. That being said - I love the footswitch / Encoder dual function things. Although at the same time if I had just been in a pub toilet I would not want to touch anything I have stepped on.
  9. It will sell well at that price. The world has gone mad. I suspect that the recent higher prices on other kit like Tech 21 has been partly influenced by Darkglass' success at high price points.
  10. Another vote for a Sandberg SUper Light. Amazing things - mine is about 6.5 lb and sounds excellent. Also can consider a waist strap / belt if the shoulder is too painful https://slingerstraps.com/products/hip-strap-guitar-strap One of them with a super light bass would seem to be a good solution.
  11. I have a G70 and g75. Excellent units. I didn't plan on having both but I had a G70 and wanted a 2nd transmitter. Andertons were doing a cheap deal on the 75 that was the same price as just a transmitter on it's own! Bug style is still easier for the house though.
  12. I have a Helix rack so I've got a mic input and phantom power built in. It's very good for vocals too. The Floor and the Rack is an 8 in / 8 out interface so as it happens I replaced a Focusrite 2i4 with the rack.
  13. Yes. Plug it in. See what happens. Might have to get drivers from the GK website depending on what it needs.
  14. The Focusrite stuff is very good for the money. The drivers are stable and the preamps are good quality. Definitely a good choice for a first interface. But, if anyone has a Helix related unit, then that can be used as an interface as well so you might not need a separate one.
  15. Black or clear. White is too bright on that bass. Tort is only for deviants and should never be encouraged.
  16. Agreed. I don't have one anymore (alas) and I use my B3K for a touch of grit rather than filth. But if I needed a proper filth pedal again it would be the AO.
  17. I have played that a lot. I enjoy it. Far more than that dire Mariah Carey tune!
  18. I’d go for the amp. The clean sounds are good, the built in drive etc mean less faff with pedals and power supplies.
  19. The new pitch shifter is excellent. Finally dialed in a great pseudo 8 / 12 string dUg inspired sound. Very impressed. 4 Snapshots all set up - including being able to turn off the 'octave strings' when needed. Rhythm Guitarists - you are no longer needed!
  20. Did a great job. Until they went out of business.
  21. Not tried them yet but I just found some free IR for the Darkglass 410 cab. Link: https://seacowcabs.wordpress.com/2019/07/21/darkglass-dg410c/
