    I had to dislodge the reed using a spoon. The mouthpiece has now been subjected to a soaking in fairy liquid and then another soaking in Milton anti-bac. I'm still tempted to throw it away and get another one.

    I prefer when the drums lead - mainly because the other people in the band are more likely to be listening to the drums and not the bass.

    Apparently the V2 Darkglass has a much quieter fan that is also variable speed. Not tried it myself though. I remember when the V1 was announced. The early pics had a larger chassis and were without a fan. They clearly wanted a smaller unit so needed a fan.

    This used to be a for trade only but my needs have changed.... I have 2 of these and will be keeping the other. I’ve only had it a couple of months, but Christmas is coming and the kids have informed me they'd really like a Playstation 5 as the lockdown seems to have ruined any plans we had for family stuff. I need to raise funds for that (and to find somewhere with stock!) I bought it new in September from the good people at GAK. It is still in "as new" condition. PRICE DROP TO £225.00 Save a few quid on a new one. Please feel free to make an offer though, I won't be offended. They don't come with cases or bags and the box has long since been cut up and used to pack pedal sales so it's collection only from Northants - with suitable masks / social distancing etc. I can set up an amp in the hallway so it can be tested. The low B is fantastic even on a 32 scale - it's easily as good as my Stingray 5. It has a useful 2 band EQ with vol and balance. Payment by PPG only - I can't get cash to a bank with the lockdown as I'm looking after someone post surgery who is shielding. By all means come and try it and then use your smart phone to sort payment when you've had a go.

It's a guitar amp plugin (3 channels + couple of pedals) but as usual it's a plugin so can be used on any signal you like. Vocal / bass / drums / whatever.. Runs standalone or in a DAW.     I think that's right. Fender and Gibson have really lost the opportunity to protect their old designs. But at the same time I can't see a neck measurement being able to be protected.It's probably more of a hassle thing and possibly lower sales. Fender forums are full of people upgrading their instruments and the EBMM forum bans people who ask questions about upgrading! So dealing with the hassle of a litigious brand and customers who maybe don't change things on their basses as much might be why there's no aftermarket apart from tuning gears and pickups.

    I think the nordy hum cancelling J will fit. I need to do some accurate measuring to check before I order. Then maybe an Aguilar 2 band. I quite like them and they seem to be low noise too. I'm actually thinking of moving on my 2nd 5 string and getting a 4 instead, and then modifying that quite extensively into a 32 scale stingray type. I have really fallen in love with the 32 scale.

    I once asked Warmoth if they had any product that was compatible with Stingrays (I was looking for a chambered body) and the response I got was (paraphrasing) - EBMM won't let them. They don't even make a 44.5mm 5 string neck at all because of it.

    I quite like a small pan in a 1 guitar ban - bass left and guitar right. 15 - 20% ish. Doesn't seem to affect the punch but gives it some spread. I do like to write tunes with really heavy middle sections - after reading this thread I might automate it to put everything dead centre for that part of the song to see if it makes a difference.

    99.9% of the audience won't know it's a signature model. Even when I had an Ibanez Jem Blue Floral - not once did a non-guitarist know it had anything to do with Steve Vai. To them it was just a guitar with a blue floral pattern on it.

    I have had several - cheap and expensive. And tried different video sources too - streamed stuff and vids that are on the ipad itself. Same result every time.

    I've tried several wireless cans and speakers with my ipad on bluetooth and the latency is horrible. Fine for just music of course, but nasty for anything that needs to be sync'd. I don't mind ones that have a wired connection option too, but I'll never buy another wireless only model.

    @therealting Have you done anything with the pickups? I'm liking the P but when I'm recording the J is a noisy thing. I'm trying to find a noiseless J that I can drop into it without any routing but I'm not having much luck so far. Any ideas?
