  1. Congratulations! What a great present.
  2. I have 3 pedal boards. And although they are different sized and have different purposes the core elements for me of tuner / compression / drive are available on all of them. And yes - I do take 2 of them to a gig.
  3. I am gassing so hard for one of these. Someone needs to buy my bass and then I can spend the money on pedals!
  4. These days one can only really tell from the spec sheet.
  5. Bump. Dont be afraid to make offers. I will part it out next week if it doesn’t sell as is.
  6. I run HPF last. I don’t see the point in putting it before a compressor that will try and boost the stuff that I’m trying to cut.
  7. It's still cooler than the air in the amp. It's all relative. Even on a really hot day when my PC is pulling in room air at 26C - that is still way cooler than my Graphics Card that can hit 80C. As long as the delta (difference between the unit and the air) exists there will be heat transfer / balancing. Cold air would be better, but any cooling is better than none.
  8. I've not tried any of the Fender pedals. I might have a look now.
  9. Yes. It was MM5 and a 40 before it was PJ. The P was an Aguilar narrow spaced P.
  10. @hubrad Here you go. Routed and painted (looks like shielding paint).
  11. That envelope filter is my second favourite filter ever. It's really really good!
  12. Strapping Young Lad, some Meshuggah Gojira, Slipknot All depends on the vocalist really. Some SYL tunes are heavier than Cannibal Corpse, but DT's an actual singer.
  13. It was a Sadowsky. On paper it was perfect. When I played it - no better than a common jazz. Up until that point it had been on my bucket list.
  14. @Stealth Yes - I've found them. With the original screws.
  15. I will do that when I get a mo. They are quite different. What I might also do... in September my big band is hopefully getting back together. I might do the first 3 rehearsals with a different amp and see what happens. Same bass / compressor etc so just the amp is changed. I'll see if I can get permission to stick a room mic up (have to ask as kids are involved) and get some recorded.
  16. I thought this was a Jeffrey Dahmer thread. ah well.
  17. I’ll take some more pics this evening.
  18. How would we all feel if the guitarist’s guitar failed and we couldn’t play the gig? Same as they would feel if we let them down in a way that was easily avoidable
  19. “Thickening “ can have the opposite effect sometimes- as drive increases so does compression. Take it too far and it sounds much smaller.
  20. Is anyone having trouble with the BD website? My Malwarebytes keeps saying there is a Trojan risk and Chrome is also reporting an invalid response.
  21. Possibly! I'll get the kids to search the house in exchange for a burger. Usually does the trick!
  22. That's False Equivalency. Taking a spare bass is not the same as needing another van full of kit. PA failure falls into the same bracket as a complete power failure - nothing you can do about it. But you can do something about a bass failing - use a spare.
  23. I always take 2. I don’t think it’s a professional approach to not have spares at a gig.
