Well the shipping has been updated for tomorrow now, so I'm trying to get ahead on work on the off chance I can skive half a day.
I've also bought a new score for me and the kids to play. Feels right to have a family jam of something new when a new bit of kit is coming.
I was just wondering. I really like my DG but other amps do the warm clean thing better. The DG is of course my favourite for drive sounds. My Mark Bass is quite warm sounding but I'm also wondering about a big iron amp like an ABM.
I've been using my helix with High and Low cuts at 30Hz and 4Khz to mimic the Super Twin freq range and see what sounds I can get.
As the ST is supposed to be a very accurate cab I haven't been using an IR at all - just into a studio monitor and using preamp models, a parametric EQ and a compressor.
Will be interesting to compare it with the ST when it arrives this week. I don't actually own any physical amps of the models in the Helix which is why I was using the ParaEQ to get as close as possible to the EQ centres on my Mark Bass.
It probably won't sound anything like it at all! But I've enjoyed doing it!
Helix Stomp.
Loads of demos on YouTube, and there’s a dedicated bass group on Facebook for all the helix stuff. Good website Here too http://drtonelab.com/ with patches and videos.
But as Ped says, if you like what you have...
I had a streamline.
Loved everything about it apart from the neck shape. It was surprisingly square in profile. Not like the older Statii I had.
If they had a nice C shape I’d buy another one in a heartbeat.
That’s good news indeed.
I watched a couple of demos of the TT800 and thought that had potential.
Also thinking about the new GK amps, but also maybe an Ampeg. I’ve not had a PF series amp.
Or maybe an Ashdown.
Too much choice!
The tracking number on the delivery has mysteriously stopped working.
I seem to recall when I got my first One10 the "It's on the way" email from the courier was not actually correct and it was a day early.
I've emailed BF to ask them to confirm whether it's coming today or not. I could really do with nipping out to the shop for a few things but I don't want to miss it if it is coming.
Aye. Nobody has a problem with a distributor needing to get paid.
Taking the fosters with the mark up is entirely different.
I am wondering if there are many people who bought something at RRP 3 weeks before the change though. Poor sods.
The Cobalts are good strings. They did have some QC issues for a while with breakages and rust (there is a thread somewhere) but I'm hoping they've fixed that now.
