I've got a Zero Mod one for my Ray5. It's good - comes with slightly longer screws and the bass doesn't need any modifications.

Sounds like you need more basses so you have some in your PC room as well. Next to my PC I have 1 bass in C standard and one in E Standard... and the same in the lounge!

Have you got some good PC speakers or proper monitors? If so you could use a plugin that mimics the sound you want and not deal with a notched volume control (they are horrible things!). I never use my main amp to record with, I've got a bunch of plugins and an interface for that. Very easy to use and more controllable than a real amp too.

I practice at home with either an 800W Markbass head or a 900W Darkglass head into a Barefaced Super Twin. I have no difficulty getting the volume set so low that the natural acoustic sounds of the bass are louder than the amp. I really don't understand why you are having trouble. What am I missing?

Clearly the only answer is to buy all the pedals and try them. Then buy a bigger pedal board because they are all too good to send back. Tell the significant other that there has been a committee decision and you can't do anything about it. Rulz is Rulz.

I'd have a look at the Tech 21 Steve Harris pedal though. It's amazingly versatile. Demo of all the suggested settings: The Motown setting really is that good in real life.

I use my B3K for trad sounds. I set the drive low and it just adds some harmonic content and thickness. Sounds brilliant for Stevie Wonder stuff. Just enough grit to cut through when playing hard, and a lovely rounded tone when played gently. I actually prefer the B3K for that than the Vintage models.

Just have a look at the string splay on a Les Paul or even worse, on a Jackson with the old metal shape headstock! Nothing to worry about.

My main PC is hardwired. It's so much better than wifi that at some point I'm going to hire a massive drill so I can go through a double layer wall (used to be an exterior one before an extension was built) to get a wired connection to my PS4. I use the PS4 for all all media in the lounge and although it's good with streamed video stuff it gets blockly occasionally.

18 year olds with strong backs and more money than sense. I bet they are only built to order.

I've started to learn that tune. It's brilliant.

I just spotted that Hughes got invited for The Dead Daisies project for an album as singer / bassist. It's a great CD! Well worth a listen. I'm a big fan of the John Corabi Daisies albums but it's great to hear Hughes again.

Thank you! My next appointment is in a week. If things are going well the splint will be off and I'll have to tape it during the day and splint at night. If that happens then apparently I'll be asked to start doing simple things with that hand / finger again. Typing / writing etc to get it moving a bit. Nothing heavy like lifting kettles with that hand though. My appreciation for pick playing has increased massively, but it still doesn't sound like me so I'm hoping after physio I'll be able to go back to playing fingerstyle. Although I have confirmed my past experience that I can play and sing at the same time with a pick but not with fingers. Weird!

He told me that as well. I also asked him why his market research suggested such a heavy cab would sell in sufficient numbers in the modern lightweight cab world particularly after Darkglass had abandoned their heavy cabs after only a year.... and then pointed him to other similar sized cabs with better specs and only half the weight. Then I got blocked.

I’ve tweaked the B3K a bit and now they are stacking wonderfully. It inspired me to write a new tune with the tone. Noice.
