  1. Good for him if he is. Every artist seems to need to diversify these days. The golden age of The Stones / Elton etc is long gone.
  2. In the full fat helix / LT / rack you can split 4 paths if you want. EQ / compress / whatever them all separately and even send them to 4 separate outputs (2 XLR and 2 1/4) as well. Or combine them. I like running the B7K model without a cab at all, but with a parametric EQ, in parallel with a Rat into a GK amp with a cab, and then a third underneath being the brand new SVT4-pro model for deep low cleans. And then with the beauty of Snapshots I can change multiple parameters on everything with just 1 press of a footswitch.
  3. I hope MM isn't going down the snake oil path as badly as Wooten did with his "special" kettle lead that he advertised a few years ago.
  4. I really like their products. But the regular X7 is £289. Yes there are some extra R&D costs - but not £100 per unit to make the Ultra. The extra parts are probably £5 worth. The casings / layouts are the same as the AO Ultra. I think now they have set the price for their "entry" level products, the mid point and the Ultra and they are sticking with them. Just like Apple when the difference in prices between specs seems percentage based rather than margin based.
  5. It's only £150 less than getting M500 amp.
  6. Interesting fact - they've gone 100% Helix. The latest album and tours - all Helix and they sound excellent.
  7. £395 The money is getting a bit silly now.
  8. It all depends on what the tune needs. I'll often play my P with La Bella flats in my Big Band gig. Sometimes very clean if it's a quiet / gentle tune where the bass part is more about just adding low freqs. But then I'll add a bit of grit where the bass part is more interesting or needs to stand out more. It's just another colour in the palette.
  9. All you pineapple on pizza loving filthmongers are going on "The List" for the revolution!
  10. Good question! I'd like to know that too. Never owned a Thumpinator but I can see why it might be a good idea.
  11. It's just one of those really subjective things where no explanation will help. You don't understand it like I don't understand the perverts who put pineapple on pizza!
  12. Your personal opinion has no bearing on the personal opinion of other players. That's it.
  13. I like the Digitech Polara for bass reverb. Very happy with it.
  14. Firmware updates have helped it enormously. I think a lot of the problems people have with it is they don't read the instructions. They say do a scan every time you use it. Even in familiar places. The unit will pick the clearest freq. Then it works as well as any other wireless I've had. The scanning only takes 15 seconds or so. Funnily enough I had a few dropouts at home and then slowly noticed they were when my ancient tumble dryer was on! I have no idea why that was a issue but it was. As with all wireless systems you've got to have a cable handy as a backup.
  15. Every Saturday I play big band with my DG amp.
  16. Superb reading skills. You can’t bluff in that environment when the client changes arrangements on the fly.
  17. He's quite famous on many guitar forums. Legend in his own cell.
  18. It does react well to my B3K. I only use a little, just for a bit of grit.
  19. Now I’ve had it almost a week, I’m loving it. Almost to the point I’m wondering about selling my M900. P bass with flats needs very different EQ to my Sandberg, and the super low control is great for removing low end mud. Haven’t used the new parametric control a lot yet as I’m getting what I want with the regular EQ. I might get the footswitch so I can turn the EQs on and off for swapping basses. The gold knobs do need a different colour marker in them though. The position dots are just a gold indent and they disappear in any type of light.
  20. The first error was lending gear. The second was actually leaving the venue without it. Who does that?
