  1. Blimey. Just announced? We've been talking about it for months! https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/326393-new-american-artist-flea-signature
  2. Where’s the gig? Might be close enough for some of us to turn up.
  3. That demo vid is a bit crap though.
  4. MId control AND a clean blend. At last!
  5. I let my ears decide. There are no right or wrong answers. If you like the sound then it's good.
  6. That's my favourite cab in the world - I used to run a pair of them at all times. But like you - I got old. No way I could cope with a cab weighing 108 lb anymore so I had to sell them.
  7. Superb pedal. I’d never sell mine!
  8. That has settled it. If some of the 5s come up as 8.7lb then I’m saving up for one. Then I’ll still rout it out too!
  9. I've never been to one of these. Maybe I will!
  10. Main Helix FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/line6helixusergroup/ Bass Helix Group (mainly rockers) https://www.facebook.com/groups/145604946038429/ Erik YT channel - uses Helix a lot - https://www.youtube.com/user/erikarko Jon Willis YT channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZM1_O0aE5cl1ipShsQ4tTw Have a look as see what you think.
  11. Connectivity, user interface, and the 2 head guys on the Helix team are both bassists who seem to want to ensure us low enders are properly catered for. Twice as many amp models on the Helix at the moment too. Headrush has a touchscreen which IMHO is a shite idea for a floor unit that could be brushed against by a near stage punter. Interestingly the prototype Helix had one too - and they dropped it after testing. There are endless Headrush v Helix threads on TGP and other places. Overall, though all the modern modellers are far beyond the old fizztech efforts. Let your ears decide - and your fingers in actually arranging sounds.
  12. On the Dingwall site it says the nut width is 45.5mm on the NG2 5 string. Is the measurement straight across the neck, or at the same angle as the nut?
  13. I did some table magic at an awards thing and in the green room I was given a full set of the same meal that the guests got. That was nice of them! It paid really well too.
  14. I use my dUg pedal straight into a Yamaha DXR10 sometimes. Works well and it's fekking loud.
  15. Is the neck the same shape as the Urge 2 Fenders, do you know? Can you check the weight? - the Bass Direct 'Sold' page for this bass shows a couple of different weights on it. Thanks
  16. I was very lucky. Then I swapped the tuners for Hipshot Ultralites and then had it routed out under the plate too. It's now about 8.6 pounds, and it's the only bass I play.
  17. Bump. Alas despite my attempts at physiotherapy etc my back will not be getting strong enough for even this modest weight bass. Try me with trade and Part-x ideas. 4 string Jazz types / 5 string Rays / Barefaced cabs / Marcus Miller amps. As long as it's light weight I might be interested.
  18. B3K into the AO (big one) AO for a warm, gritty always on for rock sound - then pound it with the B3K. I tried the other way too - but I liked it this way better.
  19. Ah, bobbins. One day I’ll find another 4 kg one to match the one I have. And then route it out too.
  20. Do what I do when I get a tuba part at short notice, for only 1 gig and I’ll never play it again.... write the note names on in pencil. Job done.
  21. Pick whichever has the most reading and theory content.
  22. The MXR is cheaper, smaller, and has a mid control. The bass & treble controls are the same freq as the Sadowsky
