  1. I really like Nordstrand Big J Blades too, but they are expensive and don’t seem to come up used.
  2. Aguilar 60s model. sound brilliant. And come up used on eBay occasionally too.
  3. The AO gets a lot fuzzier than the B3K (I've got both) and there is a rawness to the AO that the B3K can't do. Both good - they are both on my board.
  4. I like the Duality - but it is very in your face. The Alpha-Omega may suit etter if you want control over the gain. It's a different flavour but more adaptable too.
  5. Cracking demo that! Makes me want one.
  6. My backup is a 2.2 lb Tecamp. It's so light that it is not a hassle to bring it with me, but it would be very unprofessional if my main amp went bang and I couldn't continue. So I take it.
  7. that's a design feature! Takes a while to get used to it. Their guitars are the same too.
  8. I want the SL so bad! I need to sell stuff first.
  9. You are a bassist and thus a God. Don't let anyone tell you different. (Although non-readers are only Demi-gods. so Ner ner ner)
  10. Intellectual curiosity? A desire to better yourself? Filling gaps in knowledge? Learning is its own reward. Does not have to have a purpose.
  11. The Lite does look good - but I do like the wedge format of the 2x10. Very handy to have it firing upwards a bit in some venues.
  12. I'd go for this: http://www.markbass.it/product-detail/marcus-miller-cmd-102-500/
  13. I'm currently trying to nail Zoot Suit Riot by the Cherry Poppin' Daddies. I've got to perform it on 15th December so I should really do more practice. Rehearsals are going reasonably well though.
  14. Play the WASP version. Johnny Rod did a better job than JE did! Heresy I know - but it's true.
  15. The reviews seem very positive! £395 seems a good deal to me.
  16. If they are good for 5000 hours perhaps something else is making you think it might be a dodgy tube? Playing amped for 5 hours per week = 260 hours per year = life span of 19 and a bit years. How old is it?
  17. Answer 3. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/markbass-lmt800-tube.583086/ should be good for 5000 hours. I think they are soldered in.
  18. Isn’t it a mini tube in them?
  19. I love pedals, and I love playing without too. When I did the Top 40 covers thing in a 3 piece band they were pretty essential to replicate keys and other stuff. I had a massive board for that. Now I'm playing in a big band and I've got a tuner and a compressor. Whatever the song needs is good for me.
  20. We’re doing some Mickey Bubbles and the dreaded Maria Carey.
  21. I always wanted a Cliff Burton model. bit pricey really!
