I used a Digitech BSW for Deeper Underground. It got close enough as long as I was careful with picking dynamics.

Don't Stop Believin + Black Velvet. What bass pedals??
fretmeister replied to ajh8545's topic in Effects
Make sure you play it in E Flat though. If your guitarist wants it in E - sack him and get a better player. -

Really? It sounds like a fretless to me! -

Black Velvet is just the back pickup on a jazz. Bass and mids boosted, treble turned down a bit. I think the original was recorded on a fretless, but a fretted is close enough. -
Best way to reglue/hold peeling vinyl covering on BAREFACED cabs?
fretmeister replied to mcnach's topic in Amps and Cabs
My One10s look like that. But I have to say - having owned no end of cabs over 30 years - I don't care. -
New Bfsite says 4 ohms. https://barefacedaudio.com/products/six_10

Play lighter.

If I’m playing in the sun I’ll wear one. Otherwise I won’t.

From old pics I've found I think the Legacy's ARE the fusion heads - just been a name change. I found some pics of "New Fusion" heads and they look just like the Legacy models.

I swap between the 760FX and rounds on my Sandberg depending on what I’m playing. They are great strings.

Tuner first. If you only have those 2 pedals then something like a OneSpot would be fine. If you later get more pedals you'll need a proper power unit with isolated outputs. Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 / Gigrig / etc etc

Those are from a year ago. Considering the amp has a new name and the back of the amp has now been printed up I'd imagine the year old idea is out of date.
-
Of course - but that doesn't mean older units suddenly sound worse. Eventually they don't get updated and they just sound the same. Just like analogue pedals that never change.

Very nice! I keep dropping hints to the wife so she can save up for my 50th birthday - I really fancy the Will Lee model. Can't see it happening though - my 50th will be roughly the time I'm having to find money for the kids to go to university.

My G70 is on my board. It also has a tuner in it.

The rumours of a new Helix might be because of the HUGE amount of facebook traffic wondering when the next software update is - it was supposed to drop last week but it's not ready. That will be version 2.8. The mods on the main group now shut down every thread asking about it, because there are hundreds of eijits asking every day! But it's not hardware round the corner - it's another (free) software update.
-
Helix is not being replaced for a while. Line 6 are currently doing a massive Core program rebuild for it that is due to land at the end of this year. They wouldn't be doing that if a new machine was expected in the next 12 months. They are also planning to make the Stomp have more capabilities too - by updating the Software - although there is no time line for that. The whole point of the Helix system is that patches can be moved between many of the units and into the Native plug-in version too. Join the main Helix facebook group - the developers post there all the time. Of course there will be a new one at some point and the usual people will complain about the original being obsolete. And yet the day after the new one lands the old one will still sound as awesome as it did the day before. And you'll be able to get a spare for buttons. It's a fantastic unit for bass - far better than the other 2 top line modellers. The lead guys on the Helix are bassists too. Probably has something to do with it. The next update (2.8) will have a few new bass items in it. The Ampeg SVT4-Pro and the Tech 21 BDD if I recall correctly. It already has more bass amp options than the other units. And with the parallel pathways every effect can be used with bass perfectly by clean blending. Never lose the low end with it!

Just had an email from GK - I had asked them about the fan cooling and the volume of it. It's temp controlled and runs very slowly until it gets run hard. That is music to my ears!
-
When the GK's land I might have to go to Andertons. They stock all 3, but at the moment the EBS is showing as being for Order only. If I have cash in my pocket and tell them I will be leaving with one of the amps, I wonder if they'll get the EBS in so I can do a proper comparison between the DG M900 V2 and the other options. Take my Sandberg and a BF cab down with me, maybe.
-
The EBS sounded pretty good to me, but I also thought the GK had something in the lows that was a bit more grunty. Obviously difficult to tell from youtube. I've never owned an EBS or a GK so I might have to try them both. As usual finding a shop that sells both and has both in stock will be a nightmare! I do like the GK drive on the demo though. That was very nice. Quite different in character to the DG amp.

Screen grab from YT of the 800W So it's 400W at 8ohms, and the full 800W at 4ohms, 2,7, and 2 ohms. So following that the 500W must be about 250W at 8ohms, but full 500W at 4 / 2.7 / 2
