I think that's just the over tones from his usual drive sound. that bass is very grindy. He's using a Helix these days - Line 6 modelled Billy's own Pearce Preamp to get the helix model dead right.

It's rocky funk - but damn it's good!

My Marleaux is like that. If the EQ if flat there is zero tone or level change with the preamp on or off. its superb.

If he was going to give away free lessons he might as well have just bought a new bass. What happened to just doing the right thing purely because it's the right thing? He didn't have to offer a reward - moaning that it isn't enough is distasteful.

I put 4 of them on my Urge 2. They sound awesome. Unfortunately it needs a pretty big truss rod tweak and I haven't got enough movement to cope with the heavy strings. At the moment I can't afford to have the truss rod replaced so my options are to buy a lighter gauge or go back to my old strings on it. Bah. Proper annoyed. They sound great.

Lovely things. I sold my ABZ5 as it was a bit too polite for me, but I'm really looking forward to trying the NG3 5 string when they get here in enough numbers to actually try before I buy.
