1. Selling 2 of my favourite pedals as I attempt to do everything in my Helix instead. First up ThorpyFX Muffroom Cloud (SOLD) Second Darkglass Duality Dual Fuzz Engine A brilliant bass fuzz that doesn't really do subtle unless you blend in loads of clean. I have played this one a lot and there are some marks on it as you can see. These seem to have hit £215 new, probably due to the Thing That Cannot Be Mentioned £155 including UK signed for delivery. PRICE DROP TO £105 delivered UK. Just for fun - my favourite YT Duality vid. Probably because he does a pretty good Cliff Burton with it
2. I have a little sticker on the back of the headstock to remind me to change the battery once per year. I'm sure it could last far longer, but I'm happier that way. But as said - you can't leave it plugged in when not playing.
3. Can't send bailiffs in if the LTD company ceases trading. Hopefully though they wont want the hassle.
4. Hello from a fellow Northants person. 1: can you post a photo of the bass? 2: What's your favourite cheese? 3: Saints or Cobblers?
5.
Right today was the preliminary court date for my claim. The courier company Parcel Monkey didn't turn up so the Judge awarded me everything. The company did contact me on Friday just gone and said the wanted to offer me a settlement, which seemed a bit late in the day. The offer was pretty poor and not close to what I lost so I refused it. Its taken me a over a year so far but maybe its nearly done depends if they pay I suppose. Ill keep you posted on what happens next.
Prediction. If you are the only one, they'll pay out but you might need the bailiffs to get it. If you are one of many, they'll suicide the company and start again under a different name with a different Companies House registration and you won't get a penny.
6.
The roughness of the venues was why I suggested an Ashdown ABM 410 which can be got for under £200. Rock-solid, no cloth grill, decent sound, no worries with over-exuberance.
I had one once. Sounded great. No way I could lift it anymore though.
7. I've got a Mission for my Helix (the helix specific one) and the quality is very good. If you have Midi kit and want to do all manner of weird sh*t, then the Source Audio Reflex is the daddy.
8. If you are on Facebook - join the group. Loads of idea sharing. https://www.facebook.com/groups/line6helixusergroup/ The group admin, Chad, has done a load of youtube vids that are worth a watch.
9. Make sure you update the firmware to 2.21 The new bass toys are in this release (The Pearce BC1, the Sunn, the Acoustic amps, the B7KU, the Wounded Paw drive & fuzz and the new compressors) so when you turn it on, if the screen shows a smaller number than 2.21 do the update. And then forget all you know about routing options. Do you want a fuzz pedal AFTER your speaker sim? What about a wah after the reverb after the amp? Or maybe put the bitcrusher on it all. Experiment and release the madness!
10. I'm very happy with my Smooth Hound. Had it for about 14 months now with no problems.
11. The Retro barefaced line sounds very different to the regular ones. I much prefer the Retro ones. They sound far more traditional to my ears. I sold my Bergs when I got them.
12. I'm going to guess at Frank Zappa as that git could play everything. But a definite +1 for Prince. Seen him do it live. Amazing on both instruments.
13. FR800 is the Barefaced FRFR powered cab. FRFR is Full Range Flat Response. It's the ideal amplification type if you want to use software simulations of cabinets. If you don't then you turn those simulations off and use any old amp (power section) and your existing cab. I use mine both ways depending on what I fancy. The sound quality is a massive hike over previous L6 kit. The software per model is over 4 times as large with far more information.
14. I just picked up a Yamaha DXR10 powered cab to use with it. I anticipated only using it for guitar so I could get rid of my power amp and Zilla cab, but it is surprisingly effective for bass too, even on 5 string. It really recreates the IR and cab sim differences. Got it sounding like my DG M900 + barefaced rig in about 20 mins. Very happy.
15.
The point is, that even if you win, and they dont pay, you dont get the money. You then have to spend more chasing it The other may well have the CCJ, but the idea of invoking the online action is to get your money back, surely ?
Bailiffs will get it, and will add their fees to the debt recovered, and many will abandon those fees if the collection is unsuccessful.
16. Eich's are a little heavier due to their magnetic fixing system for their cabs. Also, the 300W Eich model has a fan, whereas the Puma 300 doesn't. No idea why. Could be a different power section or simply that if thrashed they need it.

Lovely, and thank you. I'll have to see about getting a day off for a visit and bring my Helix down.
18. Selling my Darkglass Vintage Microtubes Deluxe. It's a US built one and I am the first owner. It has velco on the bottom. In good condition. Selling because my M900 amp can do the VMTD sound internally so I just don't need it anymore. £170 or near offer including signed for postage in the UK. Thanks.
19. Nothing like TI strings at all.
20. Played a gig at an engagement party for the brother of the drummer. Got drunk and snogged the intended bride on the dance floor. To be fair she instigated it but that was that.
