1. Arrived. I like it a lot! Great tone, plenty of compression available and loads of output.
2. http://www.cagedoctaves.com/images/094blogozon/mark_stickley.jpg Like that.
3. You could save a fair bit of weight by putting Hipshot Ultralites on it. Not cheap, but excellent quality and better balance.
4. Spacing at the bridge on any 5 string EBMM (apart from a special edition Ray5) is 17.5mm from string centre to string centre.
5. Ordered. Couldn't resist any longer.
6. Boss. Despite the current fetish for shed built boutique fx Boss remain on many professional boards. They work and they last for decades.
7. Finally getting round to off loading my remaining guitar pedals. Suhr Koko Boost I'm the first owner and I have the box. It's a 2 stage boost. The regular side is a flat boost that hammers the front of your amp. The Mid side adds another boost on top for the mids. There are 3 frequency centres for that boost. Add it to any great valve amp and it really expands the tones available. I've used it with single channel amps like the Badger 30 and with modern stuff like a Dual Rec. great results all the time. I have also used it in front of drive pedals to increase drive levels or add to the mids. Full specs are here: http://www.suhr.com/...als/koko-boost/ Photo: https://scontent-lhr...fg=eyJpIjoibCJ9 Velcro on the bottom No idea what the going rate is for these but they are about £215 new So I'm selling at £135 delivered in the UK. Can be collected, but I don't have a guitar amp anymore so I have nothing to plug it into to try it that way. Not looking for any trades at the moment.
8. Thank you! The DG's orientation and with the jacks on top would save a fair bit of horizontal space. Mmmm
9. Is it really the same size as the Empress? It seems narrower in photos. Anyone got both for a photo comparison?
10. I loved Mr Big, but there's something about the Dogs that leaves me a bit, meh.
11. I really like Seymour Quarter Pounders. Still a great single cool sound but big and chunky with it.
12. Get a Digitech iStomp and use the model of it. It's very good, and far quieter than the real pedal.
13. I like them, but I like the Tecamp Puma better. No fan, even lighter and a great eq, especially with the "taste" control.
14.
I have never understood the idea of a musician who doesn't perform. Doesn't seem much point in bothering with all of the work necessary to be a player if you are not going to play live. Recording is great but it is a bit artificial in terms of securing a flawless performance. Also, I like the social aspects of live work and of interacting with other human beings, be they other musicians or the audience.
It can be an academic subject pursued for the sake of personal growth and enjoyment. Just like any other subject. Intellectual curiosity about a subject is quite common!
15.
I have the new (ish) Shure GLXD-16 system which has never interfered with anything else, is in a rugged metal case and has a rechargeable lithium ion battery with 16 hours of playing time and can be recharged from a plug or USB. I love it.
I am very tempted by that one, I have to say. Built in tuner as well, and rechargeable. I've narrowed my choice down to between that and the new Line 6 Relay G70. Mmmm...
16. Forgot to put this on in this thread. Passive TT4, ebony board, matching headstock and block inlays.
17. I love playing with other people. Doesn't necessarily have to be with an audience. Due to work commitments and other things I currently play with a local music trust orchestra. We rehearse every week and perform 3 times per year. I love it - and it is really improving my reading skills. But the carrying of kit, the organisation, the bookings etc - that bit I hate. Fortunately I don't do any of the admin at the moment, I just turn up and play with a great bunch of people. Even when we split into small ensembles it's fantastic.
18. Take spares for everything Tape down cables so you don't trip Write your set list in black on white paper. Don't add notes in red - that will disappear under stage lights Rehearse as if you were on stage. Same space & shape.
19. Down to 8 basses now. And a baritone, and 2 electric guitars and 1 classical.
20.
Or an RH450/750 head - again, no tuner needed.
Too heavy 8.8lb against the 2.2 lb Puma I have.
21. http://uk.line6.com/sonicport-audio-interface/sonicport/
22. Line 6 Sonic Port Plugs into your iOS device. I comes with the Mobile POD software but is also compatible with Amplitude (Free) - and then you can get an excellent Ampeg B15 sound. Amplitude will grab tunes from your iTunes library so you can play along I use mine all the time - great bit of kit
